I love Sato, one of the best Asian racers of all time. His countryman Kobayashi is following in his heels. Both very exciting Samurai racers to watch.
He lives in UK ,that's why his english sounds not like the usually Nippo-english (Hotto Doggu,Drivero,Fainto dorifto... ehehe). It's a shame he isn't in F1 anymore..
thanks for the info dude, iam 25 and i want to be a GT driver, maybe theres hope for me after all lol, i think i speak for everyone hear and that our office is behind a wheel not a desk
Yeah, pity for TS. He is way experienced and quicker than Bourdais & Buemi. I'm afraid there is no F1 cockpit for him this season and the coming years. Poor Anthony Davidson too.
the real pity is that he is definately faster than bourdais and definately more experienced than buemi, so taking the place of either would have benefited toro rosso's driver lineup in one way or the other.
He's really good driver, I also hope he would get a seat at F1 but it's not happening. Too bad, since he's faster than bourdais. Faster than most of the drivers in there anyway.
yeah i was just thinking the same when i saw this its damn too short.one thing though if honda guys saw him drift with nissan gtr on this they won't be pleased but who cares.
Well, Renault does :). Dut I think the Sato-Honda link cooled a but down, since the dimise of Super Aguri where Sato clearly picked Aguri-sans side. Sato is free to drive whatever he likes, like a STR ;). And it's not that driving another Japanese car would make Honda holding a grudge against Sato. In competition the find it important to beat eachother, but outside, it's different. The Japanese are actually very keen on getting to know eachother, because of possible advantages. Google 'keiretsu'
Indeed. And I know Jenson Button owns a Civic (Type-R, and he probably got it for free). Sato said he has a Cooper for everyday use. I also heart he has Carrera GT. But you don't use this to pick up your kids or do grocery shopping. Also, in Japan there are strict regulations around owning a car (f.e. above compact size, you need to prove that you have a place to park it). And I don't think Sato would trow his money away on a big residence (with parking space) in Japan.
imagine if you drive an f1 car the most fast and well handling car on the planet. Is a porsche or aston as example going to be exhillarating? probably not.

Yes, Takuma Sato should have been with Toro Rosso instead of Sebastien Bourdais this year.
