  • shitty swing

  • the pitcher sucks... everyone looks a lot worse in BP when the pitcher cant groove it over the plate. if the hitter doesnt know where the ball is going to end up from a BP pitcher standing 50ft away you tend to get off balance to compensate, which looks like is what is happening here

  • not easy without the roids is it mark?

  • wow he sucks

  • @jtow1020 He knows how to hit a baseball and more knowledge of the game than you will EVER know.

  • @coolguyinthe562 damn lol, calm down nigga

  • has anyone ever seen the documentary "bigger, stronger, faster"? its here on youtube but I suggest watching it for all you steroid nazi's out there. It will change your opinions

  • So skinny off the roids, his arms are still big but a skinny as torso.

  • Wonder if he took enough 'roids before this BP session...or was it Andro...

  • "Ward, the boys are fighting again"

  • "Ward, the boys are fighting again"

  • steroids make already world-class athletes better. they do not turn mediocre athletes into world class.

  • THIS IS FUCKING ATROCIOUS

  • @Mfresh43 How the fuck is this atrocious you dumbass. Keep your ignorant comments to your fucking retarted self.

  • very cool

  • thankful he didnt screw up alberts swing too bad this year..

  • Try again Mark! It's not as easy without the ROIDS is it? HA!

  • @allzon You due are so ignorant, Baseball players don't use steroids for strenght, they are a lot of kind of steroids, and Mark McGwire is a 6'5 270 pounds, and steroids don't give the ability to improve your eye cordination or the contact ability. Please read more about steroids.

  • @jor01god How don't baseball players use steroids for strength?! Are you serious.. I know they use them for other reasons like; recover quicker from injury/weightlifting etc.. I'm not taking away from his skills, he obviously was a professional baseball player so he had skills. But the question is, could he have set those records without the steroids? And another thing, you said he's 270 pounds? Did you know he came into the league at 225 lbs ?(which was probably boosted by a couple pounds)....

  • @allzon

And with when he came up he hit 49 homeruns and in highschool he could hit balls over 500ft

  • @allzon No Ken Griffey Jr Never Used Steroids Ever!!! He Played In The Steroid Era He Was One Of The Premier Players In The 90's And Everyone Knows About His Power Swing Stroke It's One Of The Best Hands Down

  • Reply continued: Anyone who lifts weights knows damn well that it is not easy to put on weight, especially when we're talking about 50-60 pounds of muscle.. So add the fact that he gained 50-60 pounds of muscle to him already having the ability/skills to hit the ball. He clearly used steroids for strength.

  • @allzon It's not the same when you are lifting weight for 1 or 2 years than lifting weight for 15 and 17 years like this dude. They use steroids but was for performence, and that allow the athlete to train harder and without injuries in the joints.

  • everyone in his era took steroids everyone did it so I agree with BigJonstud it does matter you still have, to have all that skill to it a 98 MPH fastball 450 feet so yeah its skill and he was damn good.

  • Who cares if he took steroids! dude was raw at baseball regardless! and lets be honest here if you think there's a player in the league who hasnt taken performance enhancing drugs you are out of your mind!

  • @ramsindahouse2010 No I Know Of Two Players Now Three Who Do Not Use Steroids One Of Them Is Jim Thome Who Played In The Steroids Era 1991-2012 Thome Played 19 Seasons With Indians, White Sox, Dodgers, Twins, Phillies 2 Stints 2003, 2012 And He Wasn't Tainted Either Another One Is Ken Griffey Jr Nothing Needs To Be Said About Him and Now Adam Dunn Adam Is A Type Of Guy Who Has Natural Talent and Doesn't Need Steroids To Improve His Game Top That

  • @ramsindahouse2010 I've Just Listed 3 Non-Steroid Users Look At Their Career Home Run Totals Jim Thome-604 Ken Griffey Jr-630 Adam Dunn- 365 and Hits and RBI Totals Career RBI Jim Thome-1,674 Adam Dunn- 1,065 Ken Griffey Jr-1,836 Career Hits Ken Griffey Jr-2,781 Adam Dunn-1,312 Jim Thome-2,287 It Proves That Griffey Jr, Thome and Dunn Didn't Take Steroids Stop Saying They Did Cause They Didn't
  • @Tails26Kid sorry dude, if you think those three guys didn't take some form of PED's you are out of your mind! Oh btw I had no idea that listing statistics proves whether or not someone used PED's... huh? In that case Barry Bonds Had 762 HR, 1996 RBI, 2935 HITS. I guess he didn't take steroids either since I listed his stats. Just some more food for thought. Steroids make you more prone to injury... How many times did griffey jr. get hurt?... I rest my case

  • @ramsindahouse2010 He Got Hurt Only In 1995, 2002,

  • @ramsindahouse2010 Adam Dunn Does Not I Repeat Does Not Use Steroids Neither Does Jim Thome And Griffey Himself You Have One Messed Up Mind These Guys Didn't Even Use Steroids They Aren't Tainted You Think They Buffed Up I've Got News For You Buddy THEY DIDN'T TAKE STEROIDS HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THEY DID NOT USE PEDS AND ETC

  • @Tails26Kid Words in a sentence dont need to be capitalized. Its only if its a name or place. So get that bad habit out of your brain.

  • @ramsindahouse2010 Well Unfortunately Bonds Used Steroids

  • There's no doubt that steroids helped him, but he wasn't on steroids in his rookie year, and he would have been a great player either way. People in the Hall of Fame are too shallow to understand this-- you shouldn't judge a player on what he did with steroids, but you should judge them on what they could have done without them. And Mark could have been an easy Hall of Famer.

  • He could have been a legend if he did not tke the 'roids. forgive the guy, he mad a mistake. we are all human.

  • Comment removed

  • wow fucking shit, he had to at least have some talent to make it to the majors and one of the best known hitters, so calm your ass down cuz your not the one that Played MLB.

  • ken griffey jr. has been my favorite as a kid and he never took steroids unlike mark lol

  • Steroids or no steroids, hes Mark Mcgwire. My favorite baseball player still

  • fags! quit blowing each other and dude is right on the top comment hand eye coodination not improved with steroids the guy could hit the fucking ball power does help but i'd like to see a football(fucking love it!) player hit a baseball if he's never hit one before see how well he does with just power.

  • Look at all the essays below me.

  • I agree with dick Johnson steroids=cheaters and I will never respect anyone who took them. like bonds he's a cheater he doesn't own the HR record.

  • His swing is flawless. He gets his hips through the zone and his hand to eye coordination is simply beautiful. Steroids? Sorry, steroids doesn't give you that.

  • if it wasn't for Mark Mcgwire baseball would of been dead everyone in america was watching baseball again thanks to that guy so praise him

  • McGwire = JUST ANOTHER JUICED-UP CHEATER

  • best of all time. he hit a HR ever 10.6 AB. 2nd best is babe with 11.7.

49 hr as a rookie also, gold glove, world series champ, 12X all star, won the HR derby.

    GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @drubekalb

    He cheated.

  • @DickJohnson3434 so did half of the league. hes the best to ever swing a piece of wood.

  • @drubekalb

Don't be so foolish. He hit home runs because he was huge. His bullshit about he was good at "hitting a round ball with a round bat, squarely" was laughable. He's only a .260 hitter. And a lot of those hits were home runs that would have been fly outs if he wasn't the size of a house. And he was only the size of a house because he cheated.

Mark MacGwire is a disgrace to not only baseball, but honest competition in general.

  • @DickJohnson3434 he was good before he did juice, you are ignorant.

if you ever watched him play / were a real fan you would know.

he played in the roids era and he had no choice. you cant take away skill from taking some steroid.

and by the way, .260 is just batting adverage. look deeper at his stats. OBP,Slugging,RBI.

he also faced some of the best pitching of any time in baseball. and NO ONE threw to mcgwire, they feared his swing.

  • @drubekalb

"he played in the roids era and he had no choice"

Best statement ever. I just might get it laminated.

  • @DickJohnson3434 he was injured. he kept to himself about it.

he was the best, from little league to college where he led the nation in homeruns. legion ball he was amazing.

then as a rookie he dominated. pitcher quit throwing him strikes, he got injured, went throught a lot of family issues and still came back and dominated.

  • @DickJohnson3434 lol your such an ignorant moron. hundreds and hundreds of players tested positive for steroids in the mitchell report, in yet you only hear about maybe a handful of guys through the media. Only the ones whom performed at an exceptionally high level are the ones whom get criticized and talked about. explain how strength = home runs, because plenty of guys hit more home runs than guys much bigger and stronger than them.

  • @xswijnji

"explain how strength = home runs"

    Stupidest fucking question ever!

MacGwire is a fucking cheater who instead of admitting it, just cried and said he's not going to talk about the past.

He's a good hitter too, so what? He deserved to be banned from baseball a billion times more than Pete Rose did.

Anyone who thinks MacGwire's and Bonds record home run totals weren't a direct result from their cheating is, to use your own words, an "ignorant moron."

  • @DickJohnson3434 LOL stupidest question? I didnt see a question mark, hence the fact it was not a question. secondly, do you not have an answer? like I said, for the second time, hundreds of players took steroids, HUNDREDS in the league. millions all over the U.S. and at your local are taking steroids. in yet only two people in all of history have hit more than 70 homers in an MLB season. Haters gonna hate.

  • @xswijnji

Just so we're clear, you think Bonds and MacGwire would have hit more than 70 home runs without cheating?

  • @DickJohnson3434 thats not what im saying you fuking idiot. of course the steroids helped. im saying 70+ home runs is not 100% steroids.

just so were clear, you think that if Bonds and Mcgwire did NOT take steroids, they would hit ZERO home runs?

  • @xswijnji And there we have it. By admitting that they wouldn't have broken the records without cheating you simultaneously admit two things. First, that their records are 100 fucking percent illegitimate. And second, your STUPID fucking "request" of "explain how strength=home runs" is answered directly by you when you admit that steroids were a necessary part of their home run records.

    FAIL!

And your rephrasing of my question is too stupid to even consider.

  • @DickJohnson3434 lol you say you wont even consider, then why waste your time even talking to me in the first place? you mad because you couldnt make it in pro sports? feel the need to bash others remarkable achievements because of your own life shortcomings? haha, I admitted that steroids helped dumbass, if you would have read my comment and actually comprehended my intellectuality on the subject. I guess you believe that steroids turn people into robots that cant function without them. LOL

  • @xswijnji

This is also too stupid to even consider.

Almost everything you've ever said to me was irrelevant, unintelligent bullshit.

  • @DickJohnson3434 lol you mad? your mother would give you up for mark mcgwire, cry about that and your beer belly some more lazy phaggot

  • @xswijnji

This is as unintelligent and even more hypocritical than your last comment.

  • @xswijnji

Everything I said is incontrovertible, and everything you said, was childish, mindless, reactionary, middle school insults.

    Fail on every level.

  • @DickJohnson3434 judging by your profile, the fact that you are 30 and spend this kinda time on the internet, and play a phaggoty keyboard in your spare time, illustrates your pathetic mission to bring down people who have accomplished alot more than you.

  • @xswijnji

LOL, I used to hate really stupid people for being frustrating. Once I learned to let go, I now find you guys amusing.

I absolutely LOVE it when people are stupid enough to try to counter an argument by making fun of things on your profile. And when your profile is a joke, their stupidity becomes legendary.

  • @DickJohnson3434 thats how you have fun? you spend all day overanalyzing personas on the internet that you are talking shit to? you must have been doin this for years huh? your an expert troll ya?

  • @xswijnji

You were the one talking shit, dumbass. I was the one making points.

  • @DickJohnson3434 uh no. you came to this video so that you could tell everyone he cheated and tell everyone they are being foolish.

you really are stupid huh? ha

  • @xswijnji

You're a fucking idiot. BOTH of those are POINTS, DUMBASS, now fuck off.

  • @DickJohnson3434 points?? lol, no. they are not points, they are just hater comments. lol and why you so mad??

  • @xswijnji

Why do you keep replying if you absolutely no ideas to convey? And even THIS post was wrong.

    You're not very bright.

  • @xswijnji

How long do you want to do this for? Do you enjoy this? Is this how you have fun? If I keep replying to your mindless, repetitive, unintelligent posts, will you keep this up forever? Is your life that empty? You have nothing to say, so why do you keep talking? Is it to literally see how much of an asshole I will put up with?

PLEASE FUCK OFF AND LEAVE ME ALONE?

Now why in the world would you repond again if you have nothing to say?

    "Not points"

    You brainless fuck.

  • @xswijnji

4 weeks now I've had to put up with your unintelligent, mindless rambling. Will you keep this up forever?

Do you have ANYTHING to say at all? Have you had a single brain wave on this issue?

Are you literally this unintelligent or are you literally this much of an asshole?

    "Hater comments"

Do you know what the word hypocrisy means?

  • He was better with Steroids

  • .263 career avg. That will make opposing teams shake in fear.

  • Id invite all the haters to take steroids for however many years you wish. And Ill bet you anything you catn hit a ball like this guy. Steroids dont help you hit a baseball.

  • @scroydluvin Exactly, they just turn those little bloop singles into 450 foot bombs haha.

  • you know what you fucking idiots even if he did take steroids they do not help your hand eye coordination, to hit a 98 mph fastball you still need talent. steroids do not help your vision or contact ability so shut up until you know what you are talking about.

  • @BigJonStudd59

they do help you with your contact because when you are stronger, you can swing faster and react to the breaking ball. Obviously, you have more power. duh

  • @BigJonStudd59 but they make you strong enough to turn a lazy fly ball into a homer

  • @BigJonStudd59 Im a big cardinals fan....but cheating is still cheating

  • @BigJonStudd59 tru all they giv u is power if he didnt take them hes still a 300 homer guy

  • @steven19450 300 my ass..he couldve hit just as many naturally as he did takin the meds..he was a stud when he came into the league

  • You know what I'd also like to get more of...Speed. It's pretty bad when two of your top SB leaders are a big hefty first baseman and a big hefty catcher.

  • how long before he ruins pujols?

  • @wogdoggy Yeah I hate to say it but the Cards team BA was usually in the .275 to .290. Now after McGwire took over, it dropped to a low .261. I'm not counting this year yet. it's still pretty high...but it's also early. I really didn't have a problem with McRae. He was averaging like I said before .275 to .290

  • @wogdoggy Pujols is an Angel now. Dammit.

  • Roid head fake!... looks like it killed him to make contact!... Fake chump.. Great White Dope!

  • @budsaplenty you know what ur probebly just some jealous cubs fan wishing they had a player as good as mark mcgwire

  • @budsaplenty It actually was never proven that he took steroids. He took over the counter drugs that came up to be performance enhancing during his drug test. They were legal over the counter medication not steroids.

  • @collinoh No. He admitted to taking them over the 10 year period for "recovery issues". There's even a video on YouTube that shows him admitting it. Geez.

  • Glad to see there's still love for McGwire out there. He was my favorite player as well, and it would be nice if someday he'd end up getting into the Hall of Fame, but alas... sports reporters have to make up for their "sins."

  • Glad to see there's still love for McGwire out there. He was my favorite player as well, and it would be nice if someday he'd end up getting into the Hall of Fame, but alas... sports reporters have to make up for their "sins."

  • Steroids or not, Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco are still the Bash-Brothers!

  • He was already great before he took the stuff, after that he became a super version of that and ... he probably should've never done it, Would've been a first ballot hall of famer. I'm sure he could've hit 30hrs a year without the shit. Cheating is cheating though.

  • It doesnt matter if he took roids or not he was still a great hitter b4 he took them. look at bonds, OR AROD, or manny. whether he took roids or not he still knows the game of baseball

  • still in pretty good shape for a retired, no more roids, old man

  • Looks a bit smaller then he used too. Guess he needs to pump some more roids up his ass.

  • steroids or not, he continues to be one of my favs...him, sammy sosa, larry walker, barry bonds, jeff bagwell (my idol), craig biggio, ken griffey jr, ken caminiti...they all played the game well, even though some took some kind of PED...they were all still amazing ball players

  • @MDFromNC13 thats his contact is solid i suppose but his bat speed which made him a "legendary hitter" is all from his steriods. he can swing the bat no doubt, he was a pro, but his powerful swing came from the legs and arms he juiced up

  • Comment removed

  • @Joecooool69 i agree with MDFromNC13. You are fucking ignorant. He still hold the record for the most homruns by a rookie 49. So whether he used roids or not he is still a power hitter. Its all consistency, keeping your eyes on the ball and using the proper mechanics.

  • why is he the hitting coach he was only good because of roids... whats his advice to the players, "hey take steriods and you'll become a legendary hitter like me! after you retire lifes sorta a bitch though...."

  • @Joecooool69 You're so fucking ignorant. Even with steroids, you can still suck, you still have to make contact and be consistent and solid with your fundamentals.

  • @Joecooool69

Yep, that's all it takes. Take steroids and you can hit major league pitching... fuck outta here.

  • I met him last night and got his autograph, I told him Mr.McGwire, thank you for the autograph, I have a lot of respect for you", and I shook his hand. He said "thank you, I appreciate it". My childhood hero, I will now die happy that I shooks hands with a Cardinals god and we had a 20 second conversation and am willing to relieve that moment over and over again.

  • @higginsc0781 You should consider rethinking your heroes and what's important in your life.

  • @higginsc0781 wish i could say the same, but with Jeff Bagwell, my idol...your a lucky bastard man

  • Mark, I have never held the steroids against you. Even if you still take them I don't care. Your still my favorite baseball player of all time. You can pinch hit still. Get them out of this 8 games behind slumps.

  • If you ban steroids in ANY dosage as "unnatural," you might as well ban caffeine. Or vitamins. Or protein drinks, energy bars, what have you. Or cortisone shots. Or ibuprofen. OR, what the hell, reconstructive surgery. NONE of which are "natural." According to his brother, McGwire recovered from chronic injuries and achieved full potential with very SMALL doses (much less than a competitive bodybuilder would take) of steroids and HGH. I won't condemn him for that.

  • keep him away from albert PLEASE

  • I'm a great fan, still got his swing...steroids or not he belongs to cooperstown

  • sorry mac of does not belong in the hall or any other roid guy..a huge portion of mac's achievements were made on roids..he would have been half the player at best without them..bonds too

  • He belongs in the Hall of Fame. I know he is the poster child for steroids in baseball, but there are many other players who are going to be on the ballot in upcoming years who may have also been juiced, such as Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio. Are Clemens, Bonds, Sosa, and Palmeiro also all going to be blackballed from the Hall?

  • Mark has, is my favorite baseball player

  • @chandlerlovescharger Steroids

  • That's why he's the hitting coach

  • hope he doesnt teach pujols how to get commited on the front side like he's doing

  • @wogdoggy he probably won't say anything to pujols haha, just let him do his own thing

  • Mcgwire batted .187 the last time he played. LaRussa would never be dumb enough to put him on the roster.

  • hes still on steroids, and hes a liar

  • Larussa joked about putting McGwire on the 40-man in september. I wouldn't oppose.

  • @JudgeSteelflax he would only do it as a joke. he also said he might pinch hit him, but later basically admitted he was retarted

  • @jmn1228 I still think he would do better than Brendan Ryan at this point.

  • @JudgeSteelflax lol good job setting the bar high

  • @jmn1228 Really during interleague play he would've been a fine DH. 2B Schumaker RF Ludwick 1B Pujols LF Holliday DH McGwire CF Rasmus 3B Freese C Molina SS Lopez I like it...
  • @JudgeSteelflax ok so he wouldve played 6 games, wishful thinking

  • he could be a PH too. better than randy winn? i think so.

  • @JudgeSteelflax i like randy winn

  • @jmn1228 well then how bout B. Ryan? Miles?

  • @JudgeSteelflax i think ur reading way 2 much in2 this

  • Still got that nice natural easy swing.

  • Didn't Tony say that if the Cards where in a close race, he might put McGwire in the lineup for them...?

  • I AM A VIRGIN

  • HE'S A CON!!! He cheated all of baseball. He cheated everyone who ever watched him and looked up to him. Like I did. He's a fake. And he has not come clean about the roid use. He claims it never helped him in baseball. ??? WTF??? He never took it for strength. Its TESTOSTERONE IDIOT!!!!! lOOK AT YOUR HEAD!!!!

  • @Omegatide steroids are female hormones dumbass

  • give the poor man a break!!! he is human and he already admit his mistakes!!!

  • Lets all praise him for doing steroids.....WAY TO GO BIGMAC!

  • Still has a great swing

  • @asher24 He has a good swing now.

  • the bat still loos like a toothpic in his hands

  • While I think the Juice had a lot to do with those 70 and 65 HR seasons (some of those he hit out woudl've been routine fly balls), you don't hit that many homers without having a hell of a swing. And it is beautiful to watch.

  • is going to comeback? peculiar.

  • He looks damn good, he'll do fine his fundamentals are some of the best in the game.

  • Steroids or not, he was a joy to watch when he got up to the plate. He doesn't look like he's been away at all, and could still crank some balls out of the yard.

  • @governorgilf fuck steroids i bet u that any wwe wrestler couldnt go out there and hit a homer like he could

  • @xiilmaticx06 Well of course a WWE wrestler couldn't go out there and hit homers. They're not baseball players----they're WRESTLERS. Maybe Hacksaw Jim Duggan or the Honky Tonk Man. Macho Man Randy Savage used to be a minor league catcher.

  • @governorgilf You don't know his swing very well. He certainly hasn't been practicing it. He used to have a great weight shift, now he doesn't.

  • @governorgilf BS when mark wasnt on roids he was nothing more than an average player

barry bonds was at least hella good before he started useing

  • @popbottles94583 - Actually McGwire tied the rookie record for HR before 'roids but declined a shot at breaking it to be there for the birth of his son. He was good.

  • @popbottles94583 McGwire made it to the pros off roids.... How can you say he was nothing more than average? He has made it farther in life than you ever will...

  • Comment removed

  • @governorgilf ya his step is kinda shitty though. he could fix that SO QUICKLY though

  • great

  • Looks like he's still got it.
