  • 11 R the moment i saw the approach i knew it was Tucson :)

  • which airplane is it? C172?

    nice landing!

  • The PIC did a sweet job of not overcontrolling and just damping the major excursions while keeping aligned...professional work

  • great job!

  • And he landed it after! my new favorite video on utube :) thanks for posting.

  • @sjfouts......that was badass dude....

  • Nice job brother.... you still greased it down the middle.

    No stall horn or anything...

  • i like how the context-sensitive ads for this vid are model airplanes and panic attack medications :P

  • Wake turbulence is one of those things you hear about in training and think ehhhh then it happens to you and you need new underware

  • dang that was strong turbulence

  • wake sucks I had it happen to me at lancaster pa, its one of those things that u hear about in training and thing ehhhh and then it happens and you have to change your underwear

  • nice work comrade!

  • way to stay calm. keep up the good work

  • OMG

  • OMG

  • Very nice calm, cool recovery keeping the nose down.

  • good job,you can make the landing

  • that was awesome. congratulations for your coolheaded

  • It ain't fun.

  • that was well controlled, good job

  • crazy!!!!!!!!

  • Nice one.

  • did he stall right before touchdown?

  • Yes, you are suposed to.

  • technically yes but i love to hear my stall warning when i flare during landing

  • @mmaannuukk123 The stall horn quite frequently sounds just before touchdown.

  • just fly over the wake turbulence... and land a bit further.

  • @bertjuhh16 well you can't exactly see it coming

  • NASTY! That stuff right there can get you killed and you'd have no chance to recover. I'd probably choose to go around rather than chance it.

  • did he put full flaps in once he got right over the runway? never used that technique before but it seems like a good way to keep from floating too far

  • outstanding.!

  • :22 oh my GooD JoB!

  • That looked exciting!

    But shouldn't there have been a co-pilot? :S

  • He cleaned that up well. GREASSSSER!!

  • :21 Would have been enough to make me go around! Excellent job putting it down.

  • Good landing.

    The stall waring too.

  • That slammed you pretty well. Nice job.

  • that men has like 100 years flying good landing bumbpy but save landing jajaja

  • pilot got 10 from 10:)

  • Awesome !!

  • Good job buddy !

  • why would the tower permit you to land in something like this?!? or was it part of training?

you seem really relaxed aswell, i'd be like going physco and freaking out:P great job:D

  • PERFEKT

  • Nice landing

  • good landing man!

  • Indeed dude!:)

  • great pilot!

  • Can some one tell me what Wake Turblence is.

  • its when the wingtip of a large aircraft creates a violent vortex. It is very powerful during takeoff and landing. Never fly through it and never fly under it because it will sink.

  • It's basically the turbulence left behind by an aircraft as it passes through the air.

  • Man! You had a workout! looks like one of those days when you would rather stay on the ground. Good job!

  • 0_O

Teh vorticies are teh terrifying!! You handled that one like a pro.

  • Isn't it better (safer) to abort and try again? Wait for your own WT to disappear.

At ground level you will also have the WT bouncing of the ground so it will be even more violent/unpredicteble than in mid air I think.

  • Looks like fun but the better decision would have been to abort, assuming the pilot didn't have to badly use the washroom, of course.

  • wow,very nice landing!

  • nice recovery

  • Amazing job of the pilot...5*

  • good job but i heard the stall at the end

    my dad is a pilot

  • Its supposed to stall for smaller planes like this.

  • A landing with a Cessna is like a controlled stalled right above the runway. So the stallwarning here is normal

  • Nice job mate!

  • I'm visiting your video trying to understand the accident were a Learjet crashed due to Wake Turbulence... do you think it's impossible to recover from the kind of turbulence generated by a Boeing 767 that were 4 - 5 miles ahead in a Learjet 45 at 9700 feet?

  • It is possible. WT is a nasty thing. Did the WT create severe turbulence for the Lear that created severe stresses above Va (maneuvering speed)? Can you provide the crash report number so that it can be researched?

Separation is not about mileage, as much as time. WT can last for several minutes. That is the key.

  • The learjet was at 9700 but the ground elevation is 7800 ft.

  • WLF2226 wrote the LJ was at 9700ft but did not mention that the terrain where it was flying above is 7350ft MSL. The LJ flew 1 min and 26 seconds later and 1000ft lower over the spot the 767 had passed.

Nice clip and job, and what aircraft created the WT on this clip?

  • nice landing!

    cheers

  • well done sr.

  • How did you get your camera so steady? What kind of mount did you use?

  • Just a tripod mounted in the back seat... and no - it is NOT a sim.

  • just fly higher than the wake turbulence.. land some further and have a nice one

  • sometimes you can't know where the wake turbulence will be. You can only land over wake turbulence if you know where the bigger aircraft landed which might be difficult if you are coming straight in a few miles behind the bigger plane and also if the runway is long enough to permit you to go higher. Sometimes, you just down right don't know where it is. just my .02 cents.

  • at such a low attitude this could have ended very differently. Good job sjfouts.

  • O mi, good landing

  • Got to love wake turbulence. What were you following ?

  • Its been a while - but I'm pretty sure it was a SW 737

  • i love how he just wipes his nose in the middle of it acting like notings happening

  • i know right!

  • sky-booger! :) even though it looks scary - its really not a big deal. the plane's not gonna fall from the sky since its' speed is creating enough lift to keep it airborne.

  • Mother of God!

  • puta merda que vento de traves fdp

  • sheesh. scary stuff. Is that a cardinal?

  • just a 172.

  • wow thats cool

  • that is absolutely wonderful flying! well done 10 out of 10

  • hahah i like the end that farting sound lol nice video

  • That was the wheel touching down..

  • Its the stall warning.

  • It was the stall warning THEN the wheel touching down :-). I think thats what he meant by the "farting" sound.

  • I see.

  • :D Yup.

  • Is this a simulator??

  • nope... its the real deal! 11R at TUS in a Cessna 172N model.

  • nice job

  • WHOA man watch that wind! awesome!

  • you can sure tell when looking at the yoke. watch how long the wake T lasts while trying to land with the constant surging toward the ground near touchdown. it was a great experience.

  • quite a bit of crosswind there

  • very nice

  • Like the video from stormchaser3751

Wake Turbulence Test. It clearly shows the tornadoes that are always trailing the jet. At : 26 did you added or decresed power? Was that a Cessna 172?

  • .26sec was dropping flaps actually. the whole shot is zero power since it had been a very fast approach to help out the other traffic and atc.

  • WOW! i'd like to know the same questions but wow, i want to be a pilot and i'm not sure if i'm psyched for that or scared for that?? lol, but nicely done (good camera spot)

  • The secret to not letting yourself get scared is to not fly into international airports with small airplanes. There's really nothing to fear, but fear itself.

  • ah - its not that bad! as in this case 11R isn't the normal "heavy" landing runway unless 11L is under repair. but follow procedure, keep calm, and it always works out.

regardless, if you have an urge to get a flight cert. DO IT. and don't wait. we only have a short time on this earth - don't waste it thinking about what you "could" have done.

  • Wow..those vortices create quiet some movement. What type of plane created the turbulence?

  • I believe it was from a SWA 737. Pretty good stuff!
