This isn't a studio cut, this was made prior to MCR releasing "The Black Parade" WTTBP was originally going to be in their second album "three cheers for sweet revenge" although they thought that the song could be improved, Gerard has no problem going up the octave during the chorus (as he has done this many times live, and gone higher in previous albums) it just didn't occur to MCR at the time that it would sound better that way. I personally love this version as you can actually hear the riff
