putting braids in and taking them out is an all day event.. for myself i don't have that kind of time on my hair so i just split it up into 2 days that way i can still tend to the family and not have my arms fall off!! !! lol

I do my own braids, and at times I can get more hair then that comes out it be a big wab of hair..lol but then again I keeps them in for about 3 mths or sometimes even longer is that good?

TEDDIEandANGEL- well i won't knock anybody who wants to wear extentions. i wore pinch plates while natural but i won't be doing that again. its just too much money and i don't keep them in long. but the shedding doesn't change.

Yea, braids can be expensive. Im doing yarn braids, and the last time I took them out and braided my natural hair, it was "fuzzy" and it seemed like my hair broke but shedding was not that much. Im really waiting for the time when my hair is long enough so I won't need to use extensions:)

When I braided my hair like that, I found out that wetting the hair (for some reason or another) helped and made it easier and quicker to take them down. It's like when the hair is wet, it becomes "slick" and allows the parts to "slide" pass one another causing less tangles which mean less detangling in the process. Dunno, maybe it will help you next time.

Girl I just took my braids down however I just have the front edges braided and the middle weaved. It only takes 2 hours to take the small braids down. I can not stand taking that long.

when I took mine out I looked like one of those troll dolls with the crazy frizzy hair! And then I had a sunburn on my head and my head hurt A LOT after, even when I was shampooing my hair... lol but I would LOVE to get mine done again. I got them done when I went to Rocky Point, Mexico. I can't do it my self, and I don't know where to get them done...

Wow that was a long time. I have had mine almost 5 weeks (it took a week to do them, I was wearing wraps, LOL) and mine are smaller. I usually use water and cholesterol or some kind of conditioner and that unravels mine a lot for me.

That's the biggest problem with tiny plaits and braids. I have medium/large braids and I'm already dreading the take-down and it won't even take that long. lol. I'm trying to keep them for three weeks though and I'm gonna do the headwrap thing for a while. Laziness is something else. lol. Can't wait to get back to styling though.

There is a comb at wal mart thats like $1.99 that made to take down your braids faster and easier. I heard it work wonders! Next time maybe you could try it!
