thats because the pressurised air escapes out of the aircraft making that thump sound during gear down :)

im sorry but the airbus seats are much smaller and the entire width of the cabin is a lot smaller and that of a 747 or 777...look at the body of a 747 or a 777 and then that of a A340 and you'll see the difference...A340-300 sucks because they don't have personal tv's...The A340-600 on the other hand do.

Actually the A340s are much better. Since the have 2 window seats........ Very hard to go to the bathroom if you're in the 777... Because they have 3 seats at the window. Same for 747. By the way, Boeing created the 777 to outsize the A340 and made it more fuel efficient.

Okay... Firstly the 777 you're talking about is somehting like United Airlines. And the 777 their using is 777-200 which has [][] [][][][][] [][]. Secondly, we may be talking about different versions of 777s. If you asked me about which kind I'm talking about, I am talking about the Air Canada ones which is [][][] [][][] [][][].

Yep I agree. United 777 is 2-5-2. And they are great planes. British Airways have a 3-3-3 seat Configuration on their 777. I am flying on an A340-600 next month from DEN-FRA. can't wait. I love the 777, but I will be fair to Airbus and let everyone know what I feel about their wide body planes.

i flew with the A340-600 TO on the same airline as this guy.. its really fun.. the plane is long..and its not much different then the A330 ive flown with both.. and both of them were lufthansa best airline in the world.. anyway.. its not much diff its just longer and has four engines

This is an A340-300, because Lufthansa operates the Munich-Denver Route with this type. From Francfort LH uses the bigger A340-600.
