  • Thanks. You'll have a great time riding it

  • Great video, I plan to do it with a friend.

  • love the music...

  • @liuwenjie6678

Thanks. It's DJ Harry and then Tony Furtado

  • One day, that's impressive.

  • @knordberg Thanks man. It was one long day.

  • The funny thing is, one can never really get a sense of the scale of things from video.. a great hint of it though. I can't wait to get out there myself.

  • where's the parachute ;o)

  • heights make me nervous LOL

  • Very slick! I drove down the Schafer Trail last year after a long MTB ride while visiting Moab. Awesome views, gotta ride the Rim next time.

Great video using the GoPro Wide, which I have used for the last year and just upgraded to the new GoPro HD. it's sweet, check it out.

Btw, don't know how much riding in the snow you do, but check out my latest video - Crazy?

  • Thx for the comments. I have ridden in the snow for a long time, but you got me inspired. I'll look for my studded mtb snow tires tonigh. The GoPro is super sick. Just posted a skiing vid using the HD and chest harness- got to get the chesty if you don't already have it.

  • Rad video dude! I've always liked the Shafer Trail. Going down of course!!

  • Of course! thx

  • Awesome video!

  • Thanks!

  • thx

  • Hey Singletrackmind how long of ride is that in total? I would like to do that one. I live in Grand Junction. Also is it pretty much all two lane like the vid? I think I would really like that.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  • It's approx 100 mies and it's a dirt road the whole way, even though you're support vehicle definitely needs to be 4 wheel drive with good clearance and driven by someone comfortable on rocky and sandy and narrow roads. Have a great ride if you end up doing it.

  • Is it far enough away from town that you would definitely need a support vehicle?? I was hoping to do it without. Thanks much for the info.

    DSA

  • yeah, you definitely wouldn't want to tack on the ride from town to the white rim. You'd definitley want a support vehicle just in case you had any problems, you are truely out in the middle of nowhere. You may only pass a few people in the 100 miles. You could also call Poison Spider in Moab and see what they suggest

  • Whoa!! My GOD! Wonderful!

    You Rock!

Makes me sorry i'm cranky today.

    Al

  • Just got back, we did it in one day 13 hours, I still can't sit down. It was awesome. at about mile 85 I was thinking to myself, I am never going to do this again, its been two days and I am making plans to hit it up again in the fall. It was amazing!! congrats to you guys as well.

  • Nice job. I know what you're talking about - it's a long time in the saddle. Glad to hear you are already ready planning the sequel - gotta love it.

  • You guys are nuts. I just did this ride over a 4-day span from March 27-30. Can't even imagine doing it in one day. Way to go!

  • Yeah, none of us have ever claimed to be too mentally stable. Nice job on doing the ride and I hope the video brings back some good memories of your ride. thx

  • What day did you do this?

  • It was the middle of November '08. It was a little brisk in the morning and just right the rest of the day.

  • Awsome place, Wish I could cycle there for myself!

    Thanx for the great video!

  • Most welcome and thanks for the feedback

  • Sooooo aaaaaawesome! I wish I could do that. Maybe next year! Thanky for this great video!

  • Thanks so much and I'm psyched you like the vid. Hope you get to do it next year.

  • Man that must have been a epic ride! Oh wait i was on that ride. Good work Jason!

  • I didn't realize that was you, I thought you were Lance Armstrong - due to your riding skills. But now I realize Lance wouldn't ride with a kitty cat backpack though

  • whats the song?

  • first song is titled "wake up" by DJ Harry

second song is by Tony Furtado

  • Great Jon, Jason! The video makes the White Rim look really gnarly and scary! I think it's the Wide angled lens. Did you use a Flick helmet Cam? If not, what did you use?

    Muffy:) Had Turkey lately?

  • Yo Muffy - glad you liked it. The vid is almost as good as a Stanley Turkey meal special. I used the new gopro wide. The wide angle does make it more dramatic when you see the drop-offs. Hope you're in for next years white rim ride. Jman
