@Inabj2 Were you not watching the film? It showed in the mirror that one hand was empty and when Chigurh rounded the corner the guy raised both (empty) hands. Clearly Anton was going to round the corner quickly and shoot him but he saw that the guy was unarmed and decided to interrogate him.
