  • @qcpat ,,,No it;s NOT "He Cult" - It is The Cult and the fact that it doesn't say "The Old Grey Whistle Test" or if yer a yank "Gray" etc... then you will be even more confused! If you aren't too sure about a 14 year differential then ask yer Grandma and see if she was into the "Southern Death Cult / "he" southern Gray Cult"! Meanwhile check out 8 miles high live by the Byrds! - Marvellous!

  • @TheGLASGOER

No shit sherlock. But honestly, who fucking cares? I uploaded this video almost 5 years ago and I didn't care enough to correct the description, that's all. I would also suggest that you write something a little more coherent before trying to correct me next time.

  • In the final of VIDEO the date write in the roman numeral is MCMLXXXVI = 1986

  • Great live performance, probably the best of She Sells....

  • must be tough for rhythm sections in bands just getting big...knowing they are bound to get shafted!

  • the sss bit, not the rest

  • their one and only decent song, and it's brilliant

  • if my house caught fire this CD and a few others would be what i would carry out...ohhh I'd then wake my wife up.

  • @erikinhawaii better to leave he sleeping mate - you know what their like if you wake them quick. ;)

  • Ahh. Billy Duffy. His hairspray use was personally responsible for a hole in the ozone layer the size of belgium....

    Love it.

  • Effin awesome saw them as all incarnations inc southern death at Limelight club amazing live

  • 1985 was a VERY good year for music. The 80's sound had not polluted many rock bands and the New Wave/Brit Rock/Punk energy was still around. USA College Rock was outstanding, REM put out Life's Rich Pageant and there were a slough of great 12" remixes, among them Here Comes the Rain, the best rock remix ever.

    .

This song was only the best rock dance song of the 80's and should have been a massive hit blasting from every car in the USA.

    .

Sadly this was 6 years too early before tastes changed.

  • 1987,just before i went to see them as a 18 year old....was gutted when i watched this back then...when they did born to be wild half way through sanctuary...its not the cult i knew.still love them know though

  • Always thought they should have continued with their goth/punk style, the "heavy" rock stuff they did after Love seemed like a piss take

  • Check Billy Duffy's Hair Out!!!

  • Sun King would have been good..

  • The Love CD- every song rocks. Sad Americans preferred Tiffany and cheesy junk shit music...sort of the same today in America

  • i pomyśleć,że od 25-u la nie wymyślono nic lepszego...

  • on my funeral list

  • 1987

  • that man has got a sheepdog on his head innit

  • I'm old at heart,but I'm only 23 :P

  • kinda dissapointed born to be wild wasn`t full in this video. Would have been interesting to hear them do the whole thing

  • sure makes U2 look and sound like a pop band!

  • BOM PRA CARALHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • The best gig i've been at was The Cult barrowlands Glasgow and i've been to many.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • Awesome - had this clip on VHS, stored in the garage & went mouldy ;-)

  • this song charted march 1985

    the cult formed 1981

    class band like

  • 1971? How old where they then? How many anencephalic babies survive off the record?

  • Was there best LIVE performance.

  • awesome

  • i think this was one of their best live performances. too bad it was cut short

  • I was 20 then...I'm 41 now...what a fucker gettin old is.....

  • Imagine how fucked I feel, I'm 52, FUCK!!!!

  • hahahhahahah

this 46 year old laughs at you!!!

    haahah!

  • Yeah nice one! Just what I need, to be reminded by a

immature 46 year old, OK, I'm older, but therefore wiser!!

    Enjoy being young!!

  • lol im 20 and but i was brought up on rock and punk, sadly dad wouldnt let me go see these with him when i was a kid but my first gig was alice cooper, kick ass :P the cult are mint

  • consider yourself lucky. im 26, think of the shit i grew up with and all the good stuff i missed out on!

  • wekk im fifteen. lol extra screwed man

  • Yeyah!

  • Ye-yeyah!!

  • This is the band that recorded Electric and just before they turned into American Rock Gods. Les Warner played drums on this and is pictured on the album cover too. This is 1987.

  • This is definately 1987, not 1971. Mark Ellen and Andy Kershaw were the presenters at this point, whereas in 1971 it would have been Richard Williams and called "The Old Grey Whistle Test". And this programme really needs to be brought back. And John Peel.

  • John Peel is no longer with us.

  • yeah.. its more 1987 than 84. Billy Duffy is sportin his Electric look.... woooo..

  • p.s. There were so many complaints that 'Born to be wild' was cut off at the end that they showed it a week later.

  • This was aired live on 28th January 1987

    on 'Whistle Test'.

    ThanX 4 uploading! Brill

  • My 18th birthday! ...sigh.

  • this for sure isnt 1971, its more like 1981.

great song, though. the cult are an undervalued asset in the rock arsenal

  • Underneath Michael Appleton's name I think it says MCMLXXXIV, so this is from 1984. Shame it fades out - they were just getting going.

  • 1971? Hmmm... anyway it remains a favourite whatever decade and they suit born to be wild!
