  • perfect parallel parking instead of starting destructive haha

  • @TheVibe

A "Y" two parenthesis, and two periods.

  • ( . Y . ) do you know what that is?

  • When he said go, it said bye, lol.

  • "GO" [Forward....] CRASH!!!

  • I'm pretty sure that it was pre programmed on a pc but still very good

  • Take that Opel

  • Amazing!!!!

  • very good and well executed. Have a look though, if you used the NXT flowchart programming IDE (and I'm sure it would be possible in other languages too, just harder), you can run simultaneous threads of code after a certain block. That will allow you to steer and move at the same time, which will change your turning circle but add a bit of realism :)

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Wow, drivers can learn with it!

  • the way way u say "go" , lol , its like goO , its just funny , different people can assume it in a different way

  • epic

  • This thing can parallel park better than my mom.

  • you need another ultrasonic sensor

  • you need another ultrasonic sensor

  • very good work indeed! well can you please send me the program(only the program)?

  • Man that is so awesome. If I had enough money, I would do this too. U should petition to have this made into an actual set!

  • This SPC is a lot better oO: jXELHeoZ4PE&feature=watch_response

  • wow that robot parks better then half the world

  • Wow! If Lego can do it, I guess Ford would be able to, also! Great work!

  • FAIL!!!!

  • It seems very pre programmed.

I'm currently building it in a big Lego Truck for self driving

I hope I'll get it to work

    I'm using 2 NXT's communicating via Bluetoth and I'm using 8 Ultrasonic sensors :D

If this runs, maybe I'll build it into a car :D

  • Better than a blonde

  • It parks better than my mom =/

  • Cool =D

  • No to je vazne dobre....

  • sorry but it hit the curb big time...

  • 0:41 ... woman

  • Where are you from? If you know what I mean :-)

  • You have to name it Self Driving Car!!

  • Somebody should leave a note for those cassette cases. Pretty cool though. ;)

  • did you use a sensor from keeping the robot from falling off the table? if u did did you use the one from the kit and program it?

  • 0:41, CRASH!! haha!

  • YOU DENTED MY NEW CAR!!!!! Anyways great project

  • it's a little destructive, but is ok

  • great nw put this in cars and you can solve the endless issue of parallel parking

  • hit and run.

  • make a woman version :P

  • NXT brick can understand voice commands? ("Go")

  • No, does not distinguish sounds, only the volume

  • @TheCheshireCat86 you can say STOP and it goes XD

  • @TheCheshireCat86 You can, but you have to buy that part separately, not expensive though

  • we have the same thing in our REAL car. golf plus.

    well done

  • parallel parking couldnt be any easier than this

  • work this SPC with any Parking space or is this parking space adapted ?

  • with any park space with a minimum length equal to the car length and a bit more

  • @cesky79 ah okay thank`s

  • I wish I could park that well . . .

  • my mother needs one of them in big^^

  • u should make it so when it backs up it goes "boop booop booop boop" :D

    boop o 3o

  • nice!

  • genial, em benen ganes de comprarme aixo del lego nxt!

  • awsome, u just humiliated those self parking car with some pieces of lego

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • car

  • OMG!!!! at 0.25 i think is the best parking ive ever seen lol

  • drives btr than me hahaha LOL.

  • awesome!

  • You hit the building while pulling out

  • no you hit that pedestrian at 0:40

  • a man cant parking good like these

  • very cool!

  • plz make sterring mechanizm i'm need to my rover

  • wow you have done with what is esentially a childs toy somethimg most amercans and even british cant even do parelelle park lol i some how feel threatened by this

    hmmmmmm

    I MUST DESTROY IT

  • ITS KITT

  • heyaany nice guys out there who want to chat and talk on the phone

  • OMG IT'S LEARNING IT'S LEARNING!

  • he was on the side walk and he hited to wall!...

  • 0:38 Whoops!

  • Hey I have just got Lego modstorms for christmas. I was wondering if you could send me the building instruction for self parking car two. I have found the program but can't build it please help me :( my email adress is. Please help me

  • hits the wall fail

  • I bet the new 2010 model still has the same results but now has the ability to leave a note on the vehicle in the front's windshield or leave the crime scene at full throttle.

  • Nice! The "Dash?" subroutine automatically engages once the "Crash" routine has completed.

  • - @bigollameo -

Yeah...I've executed those commands once or twice somewhere before. :)

  • Could you give us instructions on how you made that PLEASE REPLY NOW! I LOVE YOUR VECHILE

  • it dented the other persons car!!

  • 0:35 Typical blonde!! :)

  • Awesome, you simulated a female driver. ^.^

  • whats that supposed to mean?

  • Comment removed

  • @YoeriStaal LOOOOOOOOOOL

  • @YoeriStaal A blonde

  • humm not bad... would be more impressive if there was a curb type structure... and you did hit the stuff in front of you on the way out, but still 2 thumbs up

  • Very cool

  • is in this nxt 2.0 kit a soundsensor resolved?

  • SICK MAN 5 out of 5 *s Im getting 1 this christmas cant wait. i use the older verson in lego club at my school

  • Hi,

I'm working with a lego mindstorm nxt car similar to this one in a class i'm in. We have been assigned to make the car travel in an "S" shape using motion sensors and labview. I'm able to get the car to make it through half the track (the part where it is turning left), but how do i get it to turn the other way (to the right) for the second half? Help is appreciated.

  • How you program the steering motor to turn to the left? You just only have to program it to do the same thing or value but on the opposite side, for instance using negative rotations or negative degrees. Hope this can help you.

  • If you can refine the programming even more, you can actually put sensors on a real car and jack the NXT into it but it would only be good for self-unparking though. :]

  • and on the way out it hits the car infront xD

  • HIT&RUN!!! i saw it O.o XD

now seriously: realy cool, good job

  • Now only if we can implement this on real drivers who have trouble parallel parking...

  • actually car-companies are working on this and I think it already works with some models (if the gap is big enough of course)

  • toyota prius already has one and it works :D

  • good job!

did this exact project myself a few years back!

  • EPIC

  • rly nice 5*

  • nice parking

  • give us the code!

  • nice job!

  • Y ese sonido de la TV3? hehe buen robot esta bien diseñado :D.

  • SUPER COOL!

  • can you share the code please :D

  • love the rose tiles by the way

  • fac's

    functionality: outstanding

    authenticity: outstanding

    challenge building: outstanding

  • huge LOL. im going to make my own.

  • how long did that take to make, it looked hard to build

  • where can i find instruction to build

  • Just a scratch. nice

  • lol at :39

  • WOW

  • anyway, can you send me your all of your sofware part please, may be i can make this as a reference.. tnx a lot.

  • cesky, are you using matlab to programme? Using what equation? If you don't mind, can u send to me your software part? I need to present my sofware part next week, but i am not familiar with matlab. pleaase

  • leowoon11, the car was programmed with Lego software, not with Matlab.

  • Very nice steering assembly you got going there. Alot cleaner than some of mine (course i was working with the bulky RCX models). You wouldn't happen to have a schematic of the steering assembly, would you?

  • I can send you some pictures to your e-mail

  • how you program the numbr of maneuvres depending on the free space? By matlab? What are the equations? Can you teach me that how you programme to get your car into the space? thanks

  • You can program ranges of measured distance. For instance if the car measures 20cm then if the space is between 25 and 30 do 3 maneuvres, between 30 and 35 2 maneuvres and more than 35 1 maneuvre. The first maneuvre must be long, but the second you are half inside the parking space and must be shorter and the 3rd the shortest. You must try it several times.

  • Low battery level! I bet its faster ;)

  • No low battery, it goes slower when it detects free space, in order to calculate the free space distance precisely

  • what ultrasonic sensor you using? I had bought a toy car and plan to do self-parking car(final year project) by assemble 16F877a(PIC) and ultrasonic transciever on the toy car. I would program it by MPLAB and matlab. Can it work or not? How your sensor can find angle to let car turn and move by itself? By equation? Can i know the programming?

  • I don't know much about electronics, it's made of lego parts, but I think that with a simple programming soft you can do it. The program starts calculating number of rear motor rotations when US sensor detects no objects on the right of the car. With rotations and tires diameter you have the total distance and therefore you can calculate if you have enoug space. Then simply you program the numbr of maneuvres depending on the space. Good luck.

  • That thing can parallel park better than me

  • This is really gr8 work....I had a question though...can i use the NXT on a car that is not built by lego...i mean like a toy car...thnxx

  • I think it would be quite difficult! You would have to use the lego sensors and attach them to the car and you won't be able to read the travelled distance if you don't assemble the lego motors to the tires.

  • I understand, but is it possible to attach the lego sensors and motors to the toy car, i mean do i have to use the lego to build the frame of the car, or can i just use all motors and sensors and the nxt controller on a toy car?...thnxx

  • If you could assemble the motors&sensors to the toy car there's no problem! The main problem maybe would be adapting the motor axis (in cross shape) to the wheels.

  • man I love NXT! if any one has and NXTlog please view my tumbler, creater dmillyard

  • can anyone give me the program for this?

  • i want one sooooooooooooooooooooo badly my mom says there are a waste of money is that true please reply

  • No waste of money if you play with it lot of hours and you like creating not only the kit models but also your own ideas. Every hobbie is worth!

  • thats what i said. i want one

  • WOW, I should make that.

(I love NXTs,and i got one around 6 months ago)

  • hey very good work, actually im working on a similar project for my mechatronics class..Actually im building this using PLC programming...can u plz give any references that will help me thnx a lot...

  • The rotation sensor of rear wheels calculates every distance and the ultrasonic sensor decides when the rotation sensor must start to count rotations (it means distance with the wheels diameter). Then you must program a number of maneuvres depending on the calculated free space to park (less space=more maneuvres). Look at my video SPC-2. Thanks

  • The ultrasonic sensor should can turn around, so it could look forward.

    good work

  • tac (totaly awesome creation) can u do a how 2 on the building and programing

  • amazing! better than many humans park.

  • Dang!

  • hey..we made this and it has many uses!!! coooll!!!!

  • coool

  • the newer one is a huge improvement

  • awesome. by the way, does anyone know which type of command brick is better, the older yellow or newer gray?

  • I have a question... what process does it use to get back on the road because it looked like it hit the tapes in front of it because there was no sensor on the front facing forward or was it just a miscalculation?

  • It can't see forward nor backward, so it knows where it is because it calculated the space with the lateral sensor before parking. The little crash its a miscalculation.

  • because basic laws of physics are too complicated for some people

  • WOW GO!!

  • whats the name of the book ?

  • Cool, How did it know where the two tape case were? and why did it ignore the first set? I'm not familaiar with NXT, prefering the botball kit msyelf as my school uses it also, so I can;t tell which sensors you used. Did you program it so that it would only work if the cases were on one side? or both?

  • It uses an ultrasonic sensor (located in front of the car on the right side) to detect obstacles, and it calculates the free space between 2 consecutive obstacles. The first set of cases are too closer to park the car. This car can only park on right side, but with 2 ultrasonic sensors it would be able to park on both sides

  • molt bona la idea! n'he fet un de similar... és el 'park assist' en miniatura xD

  • You got this from a book. but its still good

  • You're wrong

  • hey i got this in my school!!!

  • *applause*

  • lol that would be a parking ticket you better stop or itl me a hit and run ":P

  • at 0:40-0:41 it hit the cases but hey atleast it knows how to park :D

  • it parks better than i would parrallel park! if that were me parrallel parking i would have hit about 7 cars and set off about 3 alarms!

  • that car parks better than i do

  • what system are you using for the steering

  • If this was in a real car you DID have a bump in your bumper though ;)

    Still nice job :D

  • nice that car listens to you it must be very disciplined

  • Cool dude

  • lol it tried to be cool and paralell parked

  • haha, its the lexus lego car

  • oh no it hit the parked car! I hope you're insured!!!!!

  • nom nom nom!!!!! hehekekeke I feel like cybering! g

  • sweet!

  • hehe molly im here look at Lego Car Builds Itself

  • thats cool!!

  • i have got it too love it
