  • Chris Don't stop, look to him, you will laugh so many times. xD

  • the version on their cd sucks but this version is much better,

  • Comment removed

  • Call me crazy but I prefer Meat Puppets version, riff makes me want to headbang, drumming is so angry and passionate and that 'out of tune' singing is just far out

  • @pjautuvas CRAZY! But i agree with you man ;) i love the shouting the lyrics

  • I was 6 when they released Too High To Die, and this was one of my favourite 'tracks'. Glad my old man loved Zep and all good music. Shame I found out about Nirvana before i listened to Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and the other greats of the 90's years later. Those guys made Nirvana sound, well.... kinda shite.

  • @jamespowley your a tool those bands u listed are shite

  • @fedorgspsilvamma

How about you make a list of your favourite bands so I can sound like a pretentious prick aswell?

  • they r just screaming i liked nirvanas version waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better

and i know alot of people r gonna dislike this

  • wow you guys all have very good opinions and others dont, i think that the orignal people that play it are better, for one, they can add stuff and they can add more feeling and covers usaully dont, just look up covers of your favorite songs, if they were played by the regular members and sang with someone different they would still sound good

  • It is a Meat Puppets song. I saw these guys in Philly, can't remember when, The Grays opened for the and Cracker headlined. I think, 93'. The are great though

  • great sound quality!! thanks for the post! (sarcasm)

  • kurt is the best

  • i like nirvana's better but thank you for makeing the song so it could be covered by them

  • Bono does suck balls; South Park portrays him the best LOL thinking about that episode

  • The God himself done this better than the original ones, the Meat Puppets, but, they are the original ones, but the God himself has done the greatest cover of this song, the greatest performance of this song which occured in 1994, which i like most, im not degrading Meat Puppets, they were great, but the God himself, it's the God himself..

  • eh not really singing really like the unplugged nirvana better Kurt diffently had a better voice to sing this

  • Oh, the old.

when you consider how young and fresh the concert with Nirvana unplugged in 1994 were.

    Kurt is the best ..

You can not compare Kurt `s voice with those

Cobain was and always will be the God

  • The fact that you have posted this comment on at least two different videos shows that you are indeed a Flibbertygibbet of a human. A wastrel and a Man of Wax!!

  • 'The God'? He was a mentally ill rock singer who wrote some good songs.

It's easy for people to idolize a a rock star who died when they were still young, good-looking and selling records. And people often think that those who suicide are 'deep'. But that's bollocks.

He was talented, and it's sad he died. But he was just a rock singer, like Mick Jagger, Bono or Rob Thomas. Nothing more.

  • I agree with U,man...he got his own style and he got a big respect all around the world..died?so what?he done enough for a music....

  • @johann99

wow, that was an incredibly dumb thing to say! ESPECIALLY comparing him to Rob Thomas??? WTF

If you dont think Kurt is a huge icon for R&R than you should simply not listen to it anymore. NIRVANA and DMB are the only EXCELLENT bands to come out of the 90's

  • @jamie69247 Alice in Chains?

  • there great to, but there still not the same calibur as NIRVANA.

i can name a few good 90's bands (stone temple, pearl jam, etc etc. But like i said KURT and Dave matthews band are in my opinion THE GREATEST to come out of the 90's

  • @jamie69247 Yea, I love Nirvana, and Kurt. He's not that great of a singer, but his voice just sounded great, and it was so unique. Shame he's gone. Also a shame his drummer was a better singer than him lol. RIP Kurt

  • i respect and value your opinion, but from my point of view, i LOVE Kurts voice, and dont thinks its bad whatsoever, and I also DONT think Grouhl has a better voice, but hey thats my opinion and everybodys different

  • @jamie69247 You misunderstood me. Kurt's voice itself was amazing, but he didn't really know how to sing, while Dave has a very good voice, but it also a very talented singer.

  • @jamie69247 dude do me afavor and look up you know your right vocals only... he couldnt sing... layne staley chris cornell eddie vedder mark lanegan and scott weiland were much better singers.

  • @laynestaley1990

he couldn't sing like Joe Strummer couldnt sing...the albums sound much better for it

  • Its all good but Bono sucks balls

  • sh*t version

  • que version acida! no perdieron la energia con el paso del tiempo!

  • I prefere nirvana...

  • bellissima!!!!!

  • this song was way better with nirvana unplugged

  • It doesnt help the quality of the video aint so hot.

  • i agree

  • shut up! please..

  • Sh.......ut up!Let Kurt rust in peace,with all these stupid comments...please

  • ya.both bands are great but leave sweety pie Kurt alone.Luv him always

  • "Lake of Fire" is a song by the American alternative rock band the Meat Puppets. It appears on their 1983 album, Meat Puppets II.

  • NIrvana covers this song! .

  • You weren't born when Nirvana played lol.

  • nirvana covered, jamie...check your facts.

  • You're an idiot. Nirvana covered Meat Puppets songs, not the other way around

  • what a stupid ignorant commente Jamie when you did born...yesterday?

  • Comment removed

  • idiot

  • Wow Jamie you must be RETARDED!

  • The Meat Puppets sound so polished on their later albums, but they're live performances are more like they sounded on Meat Puppets II. I dig them

  • Kurt Cobain śpiewał to lepiej. Według mnie. Kocham Nirvanę ; *

  • they wrote the song

  • nirvana were big fans of these shit people douche

  • Kurt Cobain even said it was a meat puppets song if you listen to unplugged

  • wi accidently gave that ass a thumbs up lol....

  • This guy is Curt Kirkwood, and Nirvana owes much to Meat Puppets.

  • FREAKING BRILLIANT! nirvana did a nice cover tho... i like them both :D

  • Oh, hahaha! Your comment is the very definition of ignorance!

Who do you thing sang this song first? Nirvana or Meat Puppets?

  • well said.........................

  • are you fucking serious!?

    NIRVANA covered this song!

    and this sounds GREAT!

as does nirvana's cover of the song

  • your wrong dude lake of fire is the meat puppets song

  • i liek both versions but i like the guitar from the meat puppets

  • The Meat Puppets were the playing guitars on the Nirvana Unplugged version. I guess Kurt was giving them respect cause they wrote the song. However, Kurt is not playing anything at all just singing.

  • are you stupid, i watched him play it on the dvd.

  • im saying i like the energy of the orig song

im not trying to get technical by anymeans

while i may be a very big nirvana fan i wont argue someone about an opinion

  • I wasn't trying express who was a better artist, in the comment that I made 4 months ago, I was simply pointing out the respect Kurt had for the other artist.

  • Fact.

  • kurts is way better NIRVANA OWNS!

  • both versions are great

  • I like Kurts version better too, but without the Meat Puppets there wouldn't BE a kurt version... so screw you all for debating. :P

And NO Kurt did not make this song famous, Zorinkima...

  • dude, I concur... its about time someone said that lol...

  • I'm glad you agree, Itchweed. I love Nirvana, but like someone below said, "comparing art to art" is pointless. Personal preference is one thing, but commenting on a Meat Puppets video just to say Nirvana is better is dumb.

  • the meat puppets were 1 of kurts biggest idols i live right here i western washington i grew up on his music & if any of u were true fans of him u would know that, & stop comparing the 2 versions RIP

  • yah

  • kurt made this song famous...

  • You think?!

It's not Meat Puppets who made Lake Of Fire?

  • yea i know that bozo...no1 heard of the song be4 kurt sang it...

  • so true

  • thats not true haha, the meat puppets go way back man

  • it's terrible that there has to be a comparison debate between these artists! they would probably hate all of you for this.

  • yah

  • Kurt was Kurt. Curt is Curt. Curt and Kurt are both simply beyond our understanding. Just say "Cool!!!" Stop comparing art to art. It is only hurting you and your own understanding. Open yourself up to everything.

  • kurt was a better singer

  • the nirvana version is 10x better than this...

  • Wierd music... I like Kurt Cobains version much more than this. Nirvana weren´t so heavy grunge. But yea Kurt did it to a sad song. You can´t hear what they (Meet Puppets) are singing

  • yeah i like Kurts better its more deep

  • Man, this humble vid is here for Puppets fans who realize the sound is messed up and want a glimpse of the show. They have played their song hundreds of different ways over the years, type In Meat Puppets Lake of Fire and see.....

Cobain was a fan- nuff said.

  • quoted 4 fuckin' truth

anyway i think that kurt's this song performance

    was amazing

    meat puppets rocks

  • @edwineffect666

u dickhead meat puppets were a great band and if u really like nirvana u would do some investigating u dickwade

  • Meat Puppets Have a More Metal Hardcore version thats fit for Metalheads and such

Kurt Made it into kinda a sad song so its good for Grungies

but i agree WAY WAY WAY to many Nirvana comments for a meat puppet vid honestly you Nirvana Lovers (who i am one of) if you think Nirvana is better than why the hell are you watching Meat Puppets and commenting this one

  • it's okay, but i like the nirvana version better

  • Wish i knew where u lived cause id ether show u how good he is or beat it into you...but i guess if u speak like that some1 els will do it for me soon enough

  • if kurt sucked so bad how does everyone know who he is and know at least one of there songs?....andrewwydrinski u suck at life

  • lets and this shit rite now. ur a dumbass because kurt cobain was one of the greatest musicians ever. since he blew is fuckn head off our music sux. man with him alive music would be completely different. he deifned what a true grunge band is. and just about every1 will agree with me when i say shut the fuck up

  • AndrewWydrinski is right about the fact that theres too many Kurt Cobain comments on here, but AndrewWydrinkski is the still a fucking douche who needs to get a life

  • AndrewWydrinski you fucking suck if kurt cobain had no talent why did he make one of the biggest musical impact in world??? kurt cobain made it more sucessful in life than you ever could make it... he may be dead now but he still has 10X more talent than you you worthless piece of shit your probably 45 years old still lives with his mom and works at a fast food joint your a fucking worthless piece of shit with no friends no life and no musical taste someone needs to kick your sorry ass.

  • u just tore him a new asshole. Cobain def. made this song better

  • @mustangcobain65 wow dude could you possibly be on Kurt Cobains nuts any harder. Sure Kurt was more successful, but are you ??? exactly,. kurt nor his family even know you exist, so no need for the crying over other peoples opinions.

  • @MAZ1N00 What kind of loser looks back at comments from a year ago?

  • he was inspired by the pixies dude, but i am only 12 and you were alive during that music gen i wasn't so you would know more, but he seemed more inspired by them than a ripoff

  • The original version is great for the style it's in.

Nirvana's cover is great for the style it was done in.

It's been 14 years since kurt's death already, sad.

  • If you were a true Nirvana fan you wouldn't be dissing kurts friends, that happen to have written many Nirvana songs.

  • Adelvilla they made this song

  • It's people like you that made Kurt do what he did. Why can't you just stop your retarded fighting and enjoy the music (even though sorry but this is pretty bad audio quality). If you were half as devoted to Kurt's music as you say you guys are then you wouldn't jump on others cases about the music they like and which band does a song better or which band is best. Kurt was an amazing man and it hurts when people talk shit about him. It's people that be mean just to be mean that he wanted to kill

  • if i ever saw you yomislih i would shoot and run away

  • fuck you and your comment about Kurt Cobain.. He did this song justice meat puppets sound like shit and are off time..

  • Oh My God! How can you say such a thing? Kurt was one of the most talented Song Writers ever alive! Period

  • the meat puppets are great...nirvana's version is also very good but these guys composed this song and you can see tha they are good musicians...

  • nirvanas cover of this song is better i think

shouting an hard guitar sounds don't fit here

  • omfg!!!

  • this has to be the worst video ever soundwise

  • If you don't like it, do me a favor, don't watch my videos anymore.....you MTF!!!

  • ah it ain,t all that bad if u fool with fade and bass, treble. Besides, look at it like u get to see a snip of live art u wouldn't otherwise get. Would your memory reproduce the audio perfect?

  • vaya manera de joder una cancion cojonuda,la madre que os pario...

  • shut up and take a breath ... they will fix you.

  • what is the point of posting a video with such horrible sound quality? are u trying to make me think meat puppets are terrible?

  • RISE AGAINST!!!!!!!!!

  • huh? what do they have to do with the meat puppets?

  • Good song, bad quality video.

  • BAD.

  • WOW... THAT WAS BAD.

  • troubador or somthing it's called rise against played also here:D

  • where was this? looks alot like knitting factory in ny
