  • Wait, this is a federal signal model 2.

  • Sounds exactly like the one in the mist in the grocery store scene!!!!

  • what kind of siren is that it sounds like a SD-10

  • It is either a model 2 on 120 voltage or some kind of HOR .

  • @Droideka133 This is either a really old Model 2 with a high-slip motor or a Sterling 2v8 (which also had a high slip motor)

  • How long did it take te truck to respond?

  • @sabethafiredept OFD's avg response time is 2 minutes. Usually Rescue 14 is one of the last to get out.

  • gangstas on the bikes

  • Sounds like silent hill! Lol

  • @805031 Hahahahahahahha, I knowww, i wass like :0 .. :P

  • its either a model 2 or a model 5 not shure if someone knows let me know

  • @TheLakemillsfire model 2

  • @TheRobCicero yep model2.

  • Maybe they were doing a siren test?

  • In michigan you hear them all the time.

  • sounds like a tornado siren

  • @tmysmomy

yep, only difference is alert is used for tornadoes and attack is used for fires

  • Der hangin on da box.....K !!!!!

  • thats the air raid siren from world war two to alert people to go into their shelters

  • might be a model 2

  • that ones siren is pretty fast compared to most

  • 1.) what is attack mode? i have heard people say it alot and im wondering what it is.

2.) ive heard of tornado sirens, and nuclear sirens, but never of fire sirens, what is it and what does it do?

  • i will tell you everything, first question answered: attack mode is wail(pitch rising and falling)second question answered: fire sirens are sirens that are sounded to summon volunteer fire departments to a fire or medical emergency, people then hop in there P.O.Vs and ride to the firehouse. thats everything i know bored2easy

  • it is a thunderbolt 1000 in attack mode. if you don't believe me, then just google, "thunderbolt 1000 sound clip".

  • That is not a Thunderbolt 1000, it's a Federal Model 2. The wind down is WAY too short to be a 1000, plus the volume decreases as it winds down, meaning it's not supercharged. It also isn't rotating, thus another reason it's not a 1000.

  • It's a model 2. If you think its a thunderbolt then you need to get your ears checked.

  • Could you please just get a vid specifically of the siren itself?

  • How many minutes does the siren sound for, and did they respond out of this station?

  • i love that sound =D

  • Model 2 siren.

  • Think its a Denver Sire. It's very rare to see one. It's deffinatly dual tone

  • Denver Single Tone or H.O.R.

  • Has anyone even heard a Denver siren? I think people are just making wild guesses about what this siren is. It sounds like a Model 2 to me, and thats what it probably is. And IIRC, doesn't the Denver siren have like...20 ports? It would be much much higher pitched than this.

  • No, but I bet some Denver Sirens, like this one were put throughout the State of New York. This siren is running to 15 Ports.

  • This is not a Denver siren. It is a Federal Model 2. It has 5 ports. What makes you assume it is a Denver siren, a very old, and very rare siren in which only one or two are even known to exist? Especially when it sounds exactly like a Model 2, and it has been confirmed as being a Model 2.

  • Definately Sounds like a Model 2, but older.

  • Acctually, Asmany as 10 are now known to exist. If you PM me you Email address, I can send you pics of them.

  • no MINTZ515, ITS A MODEL 2

  • sounds like a thunderbolt 1000

  • probly is it does sound like one

  • wow, sounds like a tornado siren and the siren in The Mist

  • thanks dude

  • i dont know about where you live but where im a junior the siren goes off for fires and accidents so volenteers who dont have thier pagers know theres a call

  • it's Westchester County there Larry, it's right on top of Tarrytown

  • luv the video i dont see the siren tho lol

  • This might be a Federal Model 3, I have heard a low-pitch version that sounded just like this before.

  • Definitely a Federal Model 2, we have one just down the road from us that sounds identical to this. The pitch and wind-down are dead giveaways.

  • Actually, it's a Thunderbolt 1000. I saw it yesterday.

  • It isn't. If you look at the station on Live Maps, there's no Thunderbolt to be seen. There is also no drop or increase in the sound level like you get with a TBolt.

  • hmm now that u mention it it does sound like a thunderbolt i can hear the grunt behind the wailing

  • that sirem is bigger then a model 2 looks like a low tone model 5 or 7 Monitor engine company #4 has the same siren

  • model 5

  • Sounds like a Model 2 to me.

  • The siren going off like that could be a pager test or a response that is just taking alot of time.

  • probably model 3 or 5

  • cooooool

  • sounds to me like it could be an old Federal Model 2

  • very cool!
