  • Moni Mambo Jim was one of the few top class Musicians who has lived. Its unfortunate he had to die so early.God likes people who are fair in judgement.I remember his more than 45 hits that were totally unique and extremely entertaining.I can give you a brief list:Martha,Milando,Balula,Tika na Lela,Innyo,Ivete,Monde,Sisili,Ngombele,Diabanza,Moni,Okokate,Masasu,Melissa,Hadija,Mangenge,Feza,Diana,Kanindo,Amba,Twende Kulima, and many more.Your soul RIP.

  • I hear Shika Shiak were a top air waves band in Rwanda. As far as I am concerned moni Mambo was the poorest Congolese artist that will ever live. Maybe I am wrong and he is just an Angolan like it was calimed. If he was white I would easily have pulled the race card for his popularity

  • Twazipenda sana! Shukran for posting.

  • eh, bwana keino, before i close shop, lemme ask if you remember a song whose title am not so sure nor about which group played it....it went something like, HABARI YAKO, MAMA OOOH, HABARI YAKO, SISI WENGINE, TUMEOLEWAEEEE. NIKAE NYUMBANI, NYUMBA IMENITOSHA..., NIFUNGUE DIRISHA, WATAANZA TENA,....HABARI YAKO, MAMA OOOH, HABARI YAKO, SISI WENGINE, TUMEOLEWAEEEE....kindly see if you can identify or locate it. shukran mingi.

  • asante sana bwana keino, however the shika shika song is different from inyo. it's actually got a line that goes shika shika, shika yeye. you can confirm it if you check orchestre shika shika's discography.

    shukran.

  • BwanaK!!!! WEWE ni risky to Old School>>>> They should ban your uploads in you tube. Memories Jo!!! Next time ukiwa Jamuhuri, nishtuwe upewe kitu manze>>>>>

  • Moni Mambo always appeared on stage looking tired and about to doze off. In all moves, he was always a second ahead or behind others. this would always amuse the crowd and he would smile back as he tried to catch up sometimes taking a second or two to see the movements/ dance of the group in the hope of fitting in. And when he joined, he would again miscalculate his step. a great composer, a music veteran. he once told me that Lovy Longomba was the best singer. i couldn't agree more.

  • bwanakeino - i challenge you to "unleash" AMBA, shikashika's iconic hit song, it's missed so much here, i know you know what i mean.

  • @mayamba65 Unleashing it on YouTube in a few hours. Thanks for your challenge.

  • These were real muscians who could produce they own beats; unlike today were they use computer generated beats and when they try to make live shows its worse!

  • This reminds me of the "chaguo lako" time by MDJ Edi Fondo.

  • Memories- we danced to this song when i was in form 2 (in 1980) and it was a real hit then.

  • That Band called Bata shoe shine Boys do you remember that one it was wonderfull band ...Apana qua cheza ,most dangerusfull ,OYAAAA...............OH YEA.

  • lol the guy on the cover looks like he's sick or something...what happened?

  • @orangekush3 I know you were joking, remember that in these old songs are the real life of people, in their tired, in their truth, and a deep geniune face confronts you. If you are in touch with all that has not been dressed up or overturned into refinement you might meet your great grandfather or an old lost tribesman. Yes he is not Britney Spears, but he knows himself, but does she? Take a look at photographs of Europeans in the 19th century, no one was prepared for the camera.
