SWTOR is awesome but the only downside is it doesnt feel like star wars despite the jedi and the sith and the lightsabers an all that because th republic itself and all the environmment and pretty much everything feels like another galaxy
it's an intresting subject, as alot of new mmorpg's are scheduled for release. for example star wars has just come out, and both Tera and Guild Wars 2 have both been announced, with all the ingame content. however, i would be suprised if this surplus of mmorpg's took over wow's monopoly control over the industry.

First off the game starts when you get to end game.. 1-58 use to be very lame but in cata they made the quests way more fun.. 58-68 was really fun i love all the bc looking gear. 68-80 very fun i loved the changes they did with quests and graphics and 80-85 was pretty nice they had alot of "lol" quests
then you hit lvl 85 when the game just gets started.. dont judget tell u hit 85.. noob cake
its ll down to opinion i dont really like WoW and never will ive tried the game so many times but never really found it gripping me and holding my interest into a game like say the story line to max payne or KotoR both games i played on consoles anyway. so in fairness im in the same boat as TheGUNNshop im a console player but from the enjoyment i had payin both KotoRs i found TOR calling out to me more than anyother MMO except maybe GW2 as its free monthly and also looks fuckin awesome
I've been playing WoW for awhile now. Think is, thats unusual for me. I never play something for more than about three months, and yet ive been playing WoW for about four years now. I have played SWTOR, and I can honestly say, it is AWESOME. But it is now WoW. I'm not saying that it's worse than WoW (It's certanly better than rift, a "WoW killer"), its just that WoW, to me, has the vibe that can be played for a long time, where as SWTOR doesn't.
I've Enjoyed DCUO, reached the last level (30) got sick of it and went to the Dragonball online mmo, after a week of chinese my mind wants to melt, and even though DBO is Free2Play I wonder if its worth leaving to go on to SWTOR... In this age of MMOs' it's hard to choose what I want. I'll never consider WoW looks too boring... Well, I did play DCUO for two years maybe I will go back... Orcs vs Knights, Comic book heroes vs villains, and Jedi vs Sith, What if Elder Scrolls was an MMO?
One this that will make swtor stay is the fact that it has frequent updates (promised) hopefully if these are achually made, it will be a real compettitor to wow.

@DeathBladeXI I like swtor saying it isn't close to wow is a biased remark there are alot of simularities three talent trees, same basic dps,tank,healer. only thing really diffrent is a stealthing tank. they even have the stealth sap in the game. only real thing not that there is anything wrong with it that is diffrent is in depth story telling and the crafting where you dont have to sit there, little disapointed in the decision makeing cause there choses that take you downrelativly thesamepath,
The only people bashing SWTOR are those still playing WoW. You can either change with the times or get left in our dust. SWTOR actually has a great story line for each class. Amazing voice acting and social interaction between group members during cinematics make this game revolutionary and unparalleled with WoW and all previous MMORPG's. I personally enjoy not having to read everything-my eyes hurt from over-playing as it is. Its like comparing silent film(WoW) to hi-def(SWTOR).

I actually really enjoy PVP as a Marauder. You must be my victim? Do you remember how shitty 40 man Raids were in WoW, lag-hell. Just give Bioware a chance to improve some of the PVP and raiding aspects. I think it is still far to early to tell the successfullness of this game. WoW did not reach god status in its initial release. I would reserve that status for possibly Burning Crusade or Lich King. I'm going to try to stay optimistic and give Bioware some time.
SWTOR isn't better than WoW, only somebody that is in it for the single player would say OR is better, for an MMO it really isn't. Pvp is broken, raiding is atm piss poor, and there is no dungeon finder or anything. Its definately not better and you really are a retard if you say it is

SWTOR is much better than WOW, WOW use to be fun, I spent a lot of time playing it, but it became easier and easier with every expansion and now its just way too easy, I mean, just look at the talent trees for MoP. Blizzard listened too much about what idiots wanted and now it just sucks.

WoW use to be fun, but with every expansion it becomes more and more horrible. They keep making the game too easy, there is less and less high level content. Did you even look at the new talent trees, that takes no skill. Blizzard simply has no more ideas left. The last fun WoW raid was Ulduar, after that it all keeps getting more and more boring. I am not even talking about the new races being horrible or any of that, its just the game is not fun.
@Kaali974 Also, the arena point system is kind of retarded now. I mean, any noob can get good gear by simply winning 5 games every week. There is no need for 1800 rating to get the "normal" arena gear, and the "good" arena gear is not that much better than the "normal" one, the stats are slightly higher.
@KaibaCorporationDTDL It's 8 games. And, it is not that much, since you get 1350 CP each week with the arena cap. It certainly does take time, there is no arguing about that. And I don't care for arena at all actually, it is a pain in the ass because it is so stressful. I do old school content with my guild, it makes me feel refreshed. I also like farming things and pvping on my 6 level 85's, which keep me occupied well enough.
i hated this game broken pvp ea made a profit so they split sucks really they could of had something special ruined it with a repetitive story and dull design. i hated how much it reminded me of wow fucking sucked i payed 60$ for wow in space

the pvp sucks in tor the flashpoints suck since if you are in a low populated server or low populated faction server... its nearly impossible to find someone to do flashpoint with you if they add level pvp and multiple server pvp and flashpoints like they did in wow i honestly believe it will be the nail in the coffin of world of warcraft... sadly with all these flaws... i still cant help but love tor because the stories in tor are very good...
Hey there I know this is an old video so I don't know what you have decided on but being a WOW player for about 8 years and a Bliz fan since the 2nd Warcraft I can honestly say that WOW will not go down. TOR is a very beautiful game and if anything players may play TOR but wont give up WOW. If you are a hardcore wow player you have invested 1000s of hours playing WOW and at least I myself would play TOR but wouldn't trade up WOW just yet for a new game.
My consensus as a PC game between the two games would be varied. You say that you are looking for something fresh, then Star Wars The Old Republic would be your best choice. But you are also very fresh into PC gaming. WoW will be a good choice since you are a beginner in this department. Also depends on the path you wish to take in a MMO. Do you like Story and killing mobs of NPC's then SWTOR it is for you. Enjoy killing other players strategically in an advanced pvp system, then WoW's for you.
@untoter110 Well prehaps now, but lets be fair WoW has been out there for years, it has had 4 expansions and years of bugfixing and development. But SWTOR was released not full 2 months ago and yet it still is great.
Maybe it's just me but I like Cataclysm - I was thinking of switching to TOR recently but after watching some videos the combat system looks much less refined to me. I think WoW is too easy - don't want to move to something even easier... I might check it out though. I'm disappointed at first look though.
Ok, let me sum this up for everyone confused of which mmo to play. I play both currently. The main reason is, is because the pvp in WoW does not, i repeat does not compare to ToR. Ill be the first to admit TORs pvp sucks ass just because its has only 3 battlegrounds aka warzones. Mainly because its a new game and there is defiantly potential in pvp in TOR. However if your a PvE'r and love raiding then i would most defiantly choose TOR just because the storyline is amazing. Hope this helped
Hey man, I used to play WoW for several years and enjoyed it. At the moment I am playing TOR and I love it so far. I think I would be safe to state that the leveling content and generally the PvE in TOR are far better than in WoW, or at least - I like it better. The PvP experience has been a bit off so far, but I hope that BioWare (yes I am a fanboy) will add some more content and fix out the oh-so-annoying glitches - lets not forget that TOR has been out for 20 days only...
I've been playing WoW since vanilla, now wow is a great game. easy to understand and nice classes but evet since cataclysm came out. it just sucks balls, they even made panda's who are they kidding. the guy who came up with this idea, should be fired.
Coming back to swtor, i mentioned it was also easy to understand they did a great thing on researching how wow did get sp many gamers and what attracted them to play wow. i've gotta say... well done bioware.
I got into world of Warcraft early November 2011 and so far enjoying it, old republic doesn't release in Australia (where I am) until march, what are your thoughts on old republic? Will it take time and get even better or what?
What game should i get? I have about 200 hours on WoW i played back in 2008,2009 and abit just last christmas (raiding on a friends account i even got carried through ICC) But to get it now would seem pointless since a new expansion is coming out and i would have to buy like 5 expansions just to catch up to everyone and the game is kinda dying. But then theres SWTOR which looks cool but it does not look finished or as polished as WoW. (raids, enviroments, events, world bosses ect) Help any1? XD
I think we shouldnt be deciding which is the best mmo before GW3 comes out. However, TOR seems to have taken the basic wow formula and added to it in terms of story and visuals, which can only be good right?

I played starwars old rep. for several hrs. too easy no excitement or challenge "so disapointed" save your money, the rateings are in 7.9 for this game puts them behind Rift! also There are free to plays with better experiance! and the creators are notorius for not giving updates to the game, and horrible customer support! @guers78 First off, use spell check. Second, this game is exciting, there are actual quests to follow that make sense to the story line. The creators are notorious for putting out quality games. @1Sniper6661 I think you've got that wrong. KOTOR is the original Knights of the Old Republic game by Bioware made in 2003; TOR (The Old Republic) is what is being discussed here. Probably just a mistake, but thought I should tell you so you don't get confused.
SWTOR has better quests and a better story line. When I get top level I will probably still do quests. I hated questing in WoW and never did quests after getting top level because it was the same thing over and over. But so far wow is still the better MMO. SWTOR could have been The Old Republic 3 single player game and I would have liked it just as much. Maybe that will change when I get to 50. I'm not a fan of the movies but I have liked the old republic games since the first one.
@cellmeplz I highly doubt that. And I played WoW at the start and I totally disagree with you. SWTOR, to compete. All they had to do was get some ideas from Wow and improve it. They looked at the flaws and how people didn't like it. So if WoW didn't take 7 years and SWTOR take this little time to make please note that SWTOR wouldn't be the way it is without WoW...
Star wars the Old Republic and Lord of the Rings online have started to take out WoW and most MMO's are f2p but have p2p features when wow didn't but i ope SWTOR will do the same keeping the whole thing p2p is going to make it less popular, there is a 1 moth trial i presume for SWTOR but not a f2p version, they might do f2p in the next few months depends on how well sales go...

Since its release I played World of Warcraft and I have to say dispite popular opinion Cata has made wow alot better from where it was before, however players (bad additudes and such)have been pulling it down. Thus, the game is not dead BUT SWTOR will be a major refresher and the first year will be a huge hit...the main thisng that SWTOR depends on is the updats and new content...but i do honestly think that if they keep the new content exciting and not dull then they will eventually overrun WoW. ive played quite abit of wow. ive been a blizz fan since wc1 and sc1. and i must say WoW was definitely worth the subscription fee :) no regrets there at all. i also played swtor in the beta. and tbh i kinda like swtor more... cos i for one like a good story in a mmo. im not a big fan of grinding. so i prefer swtor over wow cos of all the quests having a good story and not being grindy. for me swtor is the offspring if wow and skyrim had babies :) mmo + single player campaign aspects.
From my point of view this is these arguements about which MMORPG is better are exactly like PS3 vs Xbox 360 arguements. WoW is an old game and the fact that it hasn't been beaten yet is dissapointment. SW: KoTOR is new and has the upper hand in tech. WoW has tenure, trust me its hard to quit something you've known for soo long.
I am just saying but i think if your first mmorpg is to be any game SWTOR is a great choice you want be stoped at the low levels with boring kill 5 boar quests the story will pull you in and the combat is amazing i look forward to seeing you hopefully with me and my republic but if not i will kill you with all the sportmanship i can as well. I know this is several months after you have posted this video but yes you definatly should start SWTOR. An MMO like this is quite friendly with new PC gamers so you won't have too much of a problem. I hope to see you in the Game :)

Listen...we can say anything good and bad. But purely simple....buy the game, see how it works. If you like it, play it. IF you don't...well go play WoW. And its free Trial... Don't forget to buy the expansions. And have a huge amount of storage space on your hardrive...Good luck.
my opinion on swtor, I really think it will be good. WoW was great when it first started, vanilla. The game was hard, challenging and you got rewarded when you ACTUALLY did something worth the reward. Not just throwing around epics for every little piece of shit that you do. Blizz actually thinks more epics easier = more players, but that was a big miscalculation and now they are seeing a drop in players. Hopefully SWtor will live up to what WoW once was. Because WoW sure doesn't anymore.
i played WoW from Beta. so its 6 years roughly. and i played last week-end beta of SWTOR. i tried both faction and i loved the storyline behind it. its refreshing, it's different from WoW "which is the father of MMO's". i tried rift, didnt liked it. tried star trek online, didnt liked it. Also adding to the fact that im a SCI-FI fan, this game got everything to interest me. i pre-ordered the deluxe version of SWTOR, i joined a guild already, i know already which toon/character i will play.
3. They have the money to advertise just like Blizzard.
To extend a little, they have the fanbase behind them for reasons 1 and 2. It's already in a Winning state, the only way it will fail would be if the content isn't there and I just don't see that happening.
Just letting you know, I'm no fanboy of SWTOR or any MMO. I like a lot of games and I'm pretty open minded. I will play D3, GW2, SWTOR and WoW. :)

As a hardcore raider of 6 years on wow, I'll tell you right now i will be ending my account with blizz soon after swtor comes out, wow has gotten stale and it just seems like with the new xpac comming out, that blizz is making a desperate attempt to say "hey look at the new shinies and loads of other boring stuff we are adding to get you to keep paying us". I have however in the course of my wow career (yes career lol) have tried out other mmos (rift, aion.....etc) and they all seemed like...
coreect me if im wrong but i believe that the reason WoW isnt doing as good since cataclysm as they did in the WotLK/TBC/Vanilla is that the warcraft lore kinda ended with the lich king, im not sure about this its just what i've heard. and now blizzards writers are trying to keep the lore giong desperatly, I loved WoW up to the cata expansion and just played cataclysm for about 2 months then i got tired of it, WoW took a turn for the worse and i dont think the panda expansion will be better :(
@moggiola exactly man, lore eventually ran out so less and less ppl are wanting to follow along with just added material, thats why swtor is good for lore content for a couple thousand years :p
Can't believe I missed this video when it came out. Nice video. I remember when I stopped playing consoles back in 2005 I havent looked back. Just don't get sucked into mmos too much it makes it more painful when they release bad expacs or eventually die off. As for using the keyboard and mouse I found the easiest way to get used to it is to personalize your controls. Make a lot of macros and keybinds that work with your hand movements and you will get the hang of it in no time.
People are forgetting the main factor that make WoW what it is, the end game. RIFT was supposed to be WoW killer and with shitty end game its already dying. Also Star Wars will have 2 factions: sith and jedi? Really. I mean people play horde because horde arent EVIL in themselves. Sith is pure evil, no debates. Horde is not. You need balancing of the races or it will be of no use. Lets talk after 6 months into the game.
@kedarchitale Good job talking out of your ass, obviously you have no idea how the sith are. The sith do not perceive themselves as evil, they may have cruel practices but them being "evil" is entirely debatable. And who are you to speak for the entire horde population that they play the horde because they aren't evil. I know many people who have been dying to play a completely evil faction. But okay muffin face, continuing to act like you know what you're talking about.
The best part of the game is that the quest are actually fun. Wow quest are basically kill 10 boars or collect 5 rocks or some stupid shit like that, there is barely any story through the game until the 80's where Old Republic will have epic story through the game.

@Eleglas then obviously you don't care about storytelling enough to complain if you can't be bothered to read. it's not like you have to peruse the quest text, and a good amount of them are interesting enough to where you might want to do so. also, there are a ton of cutscenes in the newer zones.... also, you don't need to read to know what to do, they've made it so that you don't even have to download an addon to do that. it's SO hard, right?
You get an awesome single player experience that you can play with Friends. Wow is pracitcally a grind fest and the quest are tedious as hell.
You get your own starship also that you can invite friends to, you get space battles, there are a total of 8 main classes but each has 2 specializations which is like 16 classes.
Each planet is suppose to be the size of 7 or 8 wow zones.
I been hearing about "wow" killers for years. Everyone said it for Warhammer, Didn't do anything. Everyone said rift a few players left wow but are now coming back. Now its Old Republic. Personally from what i seen from the old republic game play something is lacking, its not grasping my attention. Maybe i am more of a fantasy MMO players and not into starwars. But personally i think wow is the best to do it and will continue so. Hopefully at blizzcon we will get some info on the future of wow.
Couple years ago I looked at WoW VS Guild Wars videos and all the comments said that Guild Wars was awesome and WoW was killed, I played Guild Wars and wasted my money. This is the same scenario.
@hyt243 WoW has the advantage of bieng the market leader. Alot of it's income comes from a high player turnover rate (only 30% of players ever made it past lvl 10) and its main stable income comes from long term subscribers. Those long term subscribers would have similar psychological profiles to gambling addicts. It's hard to let go of addictions. Globally an addict base of 6-8 million is not such a large number.
I am seriously going to laugh when the first month of release of this game approaches. Many will be bored in 1 - 2 months. This has nothing new, nothing special, they didn't really go out and take a risk to be different. WoW takes too much time now and too much commitment, I didn't like staying up until 3AM raiding. Guild Wars is by far the most boring MMO ever. Guild Wars 2 will be the original boring game but with fancy graphics.
imo the only reason wow is so successful is because you dont need a uber expensive computer to play it..... and from the looks of swtor and gw2 most people will need a better pc

There is 15 million people on Wow and its always being updated with new stuff... im not a hardcore player yet i can still enjoy wow, theres a lot to do... Star wars seems more like a one person kinda game. How are you going to do Dungeons, Raids, Pvp? It just all seems kinda stupid. Theres no way you can move 15 million people... and 4.3 is right around the corner...
@MrSnypa19 you should update yourself on it. There are tons of things that Bioware is talking most recently. Operations (Raids) different types of Warzones (instance pvp) and most recently they have talked about Open World PvP, which is going to have lakes with objectives and it's going to be very similar to the RvR lakes in WAR
Like a bad idea to me in the first place. Also WOW seems to require a hardcore attitude in order to accomplish anything in the game. In my study of SWTOR it seems to embody more of a casual aspect in fallowing your own story line on your own time. You don't have to be in a guild or even in a party to enjoy the epic feel of this game and when I get my pre ordered copy I have no doubt I will be pleased
Tried wow. Found the graphics childish, the world way too big, the players douchy and the gameplay horrific. I didn't even like star wars until I played the classic hit for xbox knights of the old republic and after beating KOTOR2 have always anticipated a 3rd. And bioware has created that into an MMO creation. Blizzard is better at making point click stratagies and Diablo will always be my favorite by them. But taking a popular and amazing stratagy game and turning it into an MMO always seemed

it's an intresting subject, as alot of new mmorpg's are scheduled for release. for example star wars has just come out, and both Tera and Guild Wars 2 have both been announced, with all the ingame content. however, i would be suprised if this surplus of mmorpg's took over wow's monopoly control over the industry.

First off the game starts when you get to end game.. 1-58 use to be very lame but in cata they made the quests way more fun.. 58-68 was really fun i love all the bc looking gear. 68-80 very fun i loved the changes they did with quests and graphics and 80-85 was pretty nice they had alot of "lol" quests

I've been playing WoW for awhile now. Think is, thats unusual for me. I never play something for more than about three months, and yet ive been playing WoW for about four years now. I have played SWTOR, and I can honestly say, it is AWESOME. But it is now WoW. I'm not saying that it's worse than WoW (It's certanly better than rift, a "WoW killer"), its just that WoW, to me, has the vibe that can be played for a long time, where as SWTOR doesn't.

I've Enjoyed DCUO, reached the last level (30) got sick of it and went to the Dragonball online mmo, after a week of chinese my mind wants to melt, and even though DBO is Free2Play I wonder if its worth leaving to go on to SWTOR... The only people bashing SWTOR are those still playing WoW. You can either change with the times or get left in our dust. SWTOR actually has a great story line for each class. Amazing voice acting and social interaction between group members during cinematics make this game revolutionary and unparalleled with WoW and all previous MMORPG's. I personally enjoy not having to read everything-my eyes hurt from over-playing as it is. Its like comparing silent film(WoW) to hi-def(SWTOR).

I actually really enjoy PVP as a Marauder. You must be my victim? Do you remember how shitty 40 man Raids were in WoW, lag-hell. Just give Bioware a chance to improve some of the PVP and raiding aspects. I think it is still far to early to tell the successfullness of this game. WoW did not reach god status in its initial release. I would reserve that status for possibly Burning Crusade or Lich King. I'm going to try to stay optimistic and give Bioware some time.

Did you even look at the new talent trees, that takes no skill. Blizzard simply has no more ideas left. The last fun WoW raid was Ulduar, after that it all keeps getting more and more boring. There is no need for 1800 rating to get the "normal" arena gear, and the "good" arena gear is not that much better than the "normal" one, the stats are slightly higher.

@KaibaCorporationDTDL It's 8 games. And, it is not that much, since you get 1350 CP each week with the arena cap. It certainly does take time, there is no arguing about that. And I don't care for arena at all actually, it is a pain in the ass because it is so stressful. I do old school content with my guild, it makes me feel refreshed. I also like farming things and pvping on my 6 level 85's, which keep me occupied well enough.

the pvp sucks in tor the flashpoints suck since if you are in a low populated server or low populated faction server... its nearly impossible to find someone to do flashpoint with you if they add level pvp and multiple server pvp and flashpoints like they did in wow i honestly believe it will be the nail in the coffin of world of warcraft... sadly with all these flaws... i still cant help but love tor because the stories in tor are very good...

Hey there I know this is an old video so I don't know what you have decided on but being a WOW player for about 8 years and a Bliz fan since the 2nd Warcraft I can honestly say that WOW will not go down. TOR is a very beautiful game and if anything players may play TOR but wont give up WOW. If you are a hardcore wow player you have invested 1000s of hours playing WOW and at least I myself would play TOR but wouldn't trade up WOW just yet for a new game.

My consensus as a PC game between the two games would be varied. You say that you are looking for something fresh, then Star Wars The Old Republic would be your best choice. But you are also very fresh into PC gaming. WoW will be a good choice since you are a beginner in this department. Also depends on the path you wish to take in a MMO. Do you like Story and killing mobs of NPC's then SWTOR it is for you. Enjoy killing other players strategically in an advanced pvp system, then WoW's for you.

Maybe it's just me but I like Cataclysm - I was thinking of switching to TOR recently but after watching some videos the combat system looks much less refined to me. I think WoW is too easy - don't want to move to something even easier... I might check it out though. I'm disappointed at first look though.

Ok, let me sum this up for everyone confused of which mmo to play. I play both currently. The main reason is, is because the pvp in WoW does not, i repeat does not compare to ToR. Ill be the first to admit TORs pvp sucks ass just because its has only 3 battlegrounds aka warzones. Mainly because its a new game and there is defiantly potential in pvp in TOR. However if your a PvE'r and love raiding then i would most defiantly choose TOR just because the storyline is amazing. Hope this helped

Hey man, I used to play WoW for several years and enjoyed it. At the moment I am playing TOR and I love it so far. I think I would be safe to state that the leveling content and generally the PvE in TOR are far better than in WoW, or at least - I like it better. The PvP experience has been a bit off so far, but I hope that BioWare (yes I am a fanboy) will add some more content and fix out the oh-so-annoying glitches - lets not forget that TOR has been out for 20 days only...

What game should i get? I have about 200 hours on WoW i played back in 2008,2009 and abit just last christmas (raiding on a friends account i even got carried through ICC) But to get it now would seem pointless since a new expansion is coming out and i would have to buy like 5 expansions just to catch up to everyone and the game is kinda dying. SWTOR has better quests and a better story line. When I get top level I will probably still do quests. I hated questing in WoW and never did quests after getting top level because it was the same thing over and over. But so far wow is still the better MMO. SWTOR could have been The Old Republic 3 single player game and I would have liked it just as much. Maybe that will change when I get to 50. I'm not a fan of the movies but I have liked the old republic games since the first one.

Thus, the game is not dead BUT SWTOR will be a major refresher and the first year will be a huge hit...the main thisng that SWTOR depends on is the updats and new content...but i do honestly think that if they keep the new content exciting and not dull then they will eventually overrun WoW. ive played quite abit of wow. ive been a blizz fan since wc1 and sc1. and i must say WoW was definitely worth the subscription fee :) no regrets there at all. i also played swtor in the beta. and tbh i kinda like swtor more... cos i for one like a good story in a mmo. im not a big fan of grinding. so i prefer swtor over wow cos of all the quests having a good story and not being grindy. for me swtor is the offspring if wow and skyrim had babies :) mmo + single player campaign aspects.

I know this is several months after you have posted this video but yes you definatly should start SWTOR. An MMO like this is quite friendly with new PC gamers so you won't have too much of a problem. I hope to see you in the Game :)

@TheGUNNShop sir...you have an awesome beard. I would also like to spark your console gamer side by telling you I was able to get my xbox controller to work for the game...only to move around but....I hope soon. They will make it compatible.
I know alot of games do it but...if you played the old xbox SWTOR games...then you will like this :)

Listen...we can say anything good and bad. But purely simple....buy the game, see how it works. If you like it, play it. IF you don't...well go play WoW. And its free Trial... Don't forget to buy the expansions. And have a huge amount of storage space on your hardrive...Good luck.

my opinion on swtor, I really think it will be good. WoW was great when it first started, vanilla. The game was hard, challenging and you got rewarded when you ACTUALLY did something worth the reward. Not just throwing around epics for every little piece of shit that you do. Blizz actually thinks more epics easier = more players, but that was a big miscalculation and now they are seeing a drop in players. Hopefully SWtor will live up to what WoW once was. Because WoW sure doesn't anymore.

Totaly Agree. Wow after Cataclysm has messed up the game at almost every thing of the game you can think off. Bad thing of Cataclysm :
- Killed most of the social guilds after end of Woltk
- Patch 4.3 No more tier Gear from Vendors
- Kunfu Panda ( Serieus blizzard run out of idea's and making a desperate move to refresh the game but its gonna fail anyway.
- There is no chance to do 10 and 25 man raid anymore. Only one you can choose now.
- The raiding and difficulity was too different in Cata

i played WoW from Beta. so its 6 years roughly. and i played last week-end beta of SWTOR. i tried both faction and i loved the storyline behind it. its refreshing, it's different from WoW "which is the father of MMO's". i tried rift, didnt liked it. tried star trek online, didnt liked it. Also adding to the fact that im a SCI-FI fan, this game got everything to interest me. i pre-ordered the deluxe version of SWTOR, i joined a guild already, i know already which toon/character i will play.

Let me put it this way GUNN,
3 reasons:
1. Bioware.
2. It's Star Wars done Right.
3. They have the money to advertise just like Blizzard.
To extend a little, they have the fanbase behind them for reasons 1 and 2. It's already in a Winning state, the only way it will fail would be if the content isn't there and I just don't see that happening.
Just letting you know, I'm no fanboy of SWTOR or any MMO. I like a lot of games and I'm pretty open minded. I will play D3, GW2, SWTOR and WoW. :)

As a hardcore raider of 6 years on wow, I'll tell you right now i will be ending my account with blizz soon after swtor comes out, wow has gotten stale and it just seems like with the new xpac comming out, that blizz is making a desperate attempt to say "hey look at the new shinies and loads of other boring stuff we are adding to get you to keep paying us". I have however in the course of my wow career (yes career lol) have tried out other mmos (rift, aion.....etc) and they all seemed like...

coreect me if im wrong but i believe that the reason WoW isnt doing as good since cataclysm as they did in the WotLK/TBC/Vanilla is that the warcraft lore kinda ended with the lich king, im not sure about this its just what i've heard. and now blizzards writers are trying to keep the lore giong desperatly, I loved WoW up to the cata expansion and just played cataclysm for about 2 months then i got tired of it, WoW took a turn for the worse and i dont think the panda expansion will be better :(

Can't believe I missed this video when it came out. Nice video. I remember when I stopped playing consoles back in 2005 I havent looked back. Just don't get sucked into mmos too much it makes it more painful when they release bad expacs or eventually die off. As for using the keyboard and mouse I found the easiest way to get used to it is to personalize your controls. Make a lot of macros and keybinds that work with your hand movements and you will get the hang of it in no time.

People are forgetting the main factor that make WoW what it is, the end game. RIFT was supposed to be WoW killer and with shitty end game its already dying. Also Star Wars will have 2 factions: sith and jedi? Really. I mean people play horde because horde arent EVIL in themselves. Sith is pure evil, no debates. Horde is not. You need balancing of the races or it will be of no use. Lets talk after 6 months into the game.

The sith do not perceive themselves as evil, they may have cruel practices but them being "evil" is entirely debatable. And who are you to speak for the entire horde population that they play the horde because they aren't evil. I know many people who have been dying to play a completely evil faction. The best part of the game is that the quest are actually fun. Wow quest are basically kill 10 boars or collect 5 rocks or some stupid shit like that, there is barely any story through the game until the 80's where Old Republic will have epic story through the game.
Definitely try the game

@Eleglas then obviously you don't care about storytelling enough to complain if you can't be bothered to read. it's not like you have to peruse the quest text, and a good amount of them are interesting enough to where you might want to do so. also, there are a ton of cutscenes in the newer zones.... also, you don't need to read to know what to do, they've made it so that you don't even have to download an addon to do that. it's SO hard, right?

You get an awesome single player experience that you can play with Friends. Wow is pracitcally a grind fest and the quest are tedious as hell.
You get your own starship also that you can invite friends to, you get space battles, there are a total of 8 main classes but each has 2 specializations which is like 16 classes.
Each planet is suppose to be the size of 7 or 8 wow zones.

I've played wow since launch day, I an 85 druid and mage, an 83 shaman, and 80 hunter and a 74 warrior.
But Holy shit when Old Republic comes out I'm done with Wow.
For one, I'm sick of Fantasy and would love to jump into a sci fi MMO, let alone one based in Star Wars.

I been hearing about "wow" killers for years. Everyone said it for Warhammer, Didn't do anything. Everyone said rift a few players left wow but are now coming back. Now its Old Republic. Personally from what i seen from the old republic game play something is lacking, its not grasping my attention. Maybe i am more of a fantasy MMO players and not into starwars. But personally i think wow is the best to do it and will continue so. Hopefully at blizzcon we will get some info on the future of wow.

Couple years ago I looked at WoW VS Guild Wars videos and all the comments said that Guild Wars was awesome and WoW was killed, I played Guild Wars and wasted my money. This is the same scenario.

@hyt243 WoW has the advantage of bieng the market leader. Alot of it's income comes from a high player turnover rate (only 30% of players ever made it past lvl 10) and its main stable income comes from long term subscribers. Those long term subscribers would have similar psychological profiles to gambling addicts. It's hard to let go of addictions. Globally an addict base of 6-8 million is not such a large number.

I am seriously going to laugh when the first month of release of this game approaches. Many will be bored in 1 - 2 months. This has nothing new, nothing special, they didn't really go out and take a risk to be different. WoW takes too much time now and too much commitment, I didn't like staying up until 3AM raiding. Guild Wars is by far the most boring MMO ever. Guild Wars 2 will be the original boring game but with fancy graphics.

Star Wars won't be terrible but Wow will still be the top MMORPG
There is 15 million people on Wow and its always being updated with new stuff... im not a hardcore player yet i can still enjoy wow, theres a lot to do... Star wars seems more like a one person kinda game. How are you going to do Dungeons, Raids, Pvp? It just all seems kinda stupid. Theres no way you can move 15 million people... and 4.3 is right around the corner...

@MrSnypa19 you should update yourself on it. There are tons of things that Bioware is talking most recently. Operations (Raids) different types of Warzones (instance pvp) and most recently they have talked about Open World PvP, which is going to have lakes with objectives and it's going to be very similar to the RvR lakes in WAR

Like a bad idea to me in the first place. Also WOW seems to require a hardcore attitude in order to accomplish anything in the game. In my study of SWTOR it seems to embody more of a casual aspect in fallowing your own story line on your own time. You don't have to be in a guild or even in a party to enjoy the epic feel of this game and when I get my pre ordered copy I have no doubt I will be pleased

Tried wow. Found the graphics childish, the world way too big, the players douchy and the gameplay horrific. I didn't even like star wars until I played the classic hit for xbox knights of the old republic and after beating KOTOR2 have always anticipated a 3rd. And bioware has created that into an MMO creation. Blizzard is better at making point click stratagies and Diablo will always be my favorite by them. But taking a popular and amazing stratagy game and turning it into an MMO always seemed
