There isn't anything the cenobites can do once the box is solved. In fact, earlier in the movie its established that he can't directly stop anyone from solving it, he's shocked by the box when he tries to take it from Joey.

Well, the 2nd Hellraiser showed the cenobites turned back into human after Kristy freed their souls. I don't know about now though. It does suck, to be the ones FORCED to be a cenobite and have to endure torment in hell. (e.g. - CD/Barbie/Doc.) JP and Terri chose to join Pinhead on their own free will, selling their souls.

after the 2nd movie, Clive was loosing his touch. Yes Pinhead is wierd, but there were few others that were disturbing to many like Frank, Julie, any skinless people, and then it died.

Hopefully the remake will be as wierd and disturbing as Clive made it.

Are you talking about abilities like Barbie's firebreathing and CD's CD throwing? I don't believe she has one. Being a cenobite isn't about having a superpower, it's about exploring and experimenting in sensations, finding ones that are both pleasurable and painful at once. CD, Barbie, and Camerahead are likely grunts, meant for actual combat against whoever opposes Pinhead, while Terri and JP are sortof like apprentices.

In the end credits of Hellraiser, the hallway monster is called the Engineer, despite bearing little resemblance to the monster from the book.

In Hellraiser: Inferno, a crime boss named the Engineer is referenced throughout the movie, and is also apparently meant to be the killer Detective Joseph Thorne is after.

I guess Leviathan could be called the Engineer in the sense that it creates the torture devices the cenobites use, but there could still be a character to fill that role, that does all that work for Leviatan. God's usually don't like to get their hands dirty.
