  • the 1st smokey eye that i liked! :)

  • that was amazing!! great help, easiest tutorial out of all of the ones I've seen & quickest. BTW, u have stunning eyes ;)

  • 18 ppl have to go to MAC to get this done, since their make-up skills suck....

  • what if you do not have a primer and you still want it to last a full day ?????

  • Hi! do you know a drugstore brand that have a similiar grey! it's very pretty...have been looking for one grey for a long time and i don't fine the right matte grey.

    thanks...

  • You make it look so easy :)

  • Love It 100% Satisfied!!(:

  • love this, really easy and quick!!!

  • 'like bedroom eye kinda thing' hahahha! love this look :) X

  • I am in desperate need for copperplate e/s now, I have wanted it forever but this only made me want it more!!! Im gonna have to make a pitstop at mac tomorrow on the way home from school lol!

  • may I ask what brand you use for your pencil liner? the black is so intense!

  • Quick and easy. Thanks!

  • Luv!!!!! So simple, never thought it could be that easy!!

  • do you work at mac?

  • It`s amasing!

  • I have the covergirl lashblast fusion as well, but I find that the mascara does not make my eyelashes very noticeable.

how did you apply it so that it looks more... dramatic?

  • I think it's incredibly helpful for you to provide different options for different skin tones!

  • thanks sarah you cut my morning make up time in half i no longer need 40 minutes

thanks again your a time saver!!

  • yesss i love that you let us different skintones know what colors to use.

i hate having to try out the sam ecolors and it never usually works with mine, being an NC44 and all ! thankk you

  • This look is so easy but also gorgeous! Favorite :)

  • gorgeous!

  • i love this look! :) it's so pretty. thank you :)

  • I'll wear this look for my interview tomorrow and who knows, maybe post a video response to display it.

When I tested it out today, I did use a highlighting color on my brow bone.

How come this look works so well without it though?

Either way, I don't intend to use the highlighting shade tomorrow, to remain more professional.

Also, I loooved the quickness of this look!

It usually takes me about 30-40 minutes to do a full face and eye make-up look (usually 3+ colors), but this took me about 10!

  • Wow! So, I tested this look out today and it is PERFECT!!!

I have a very important interview tomorrow and wanted something subtle and conservative, but did not want to show up completely bare-faced. This look is perfect!

I used a pale grey color out of my Coastal 88 Scents pallet and it worked great!

I left out the smoky effect under the lower lashes, since I'm trying to stay conservative. But I had no idea I could just use ONE color and through shading, create a nice, smoky smoothe gradient.

  • I watched this tutorial last night and wore this today (with Typographic instead of Carbon) and it was lovely, lovely, lovely. Really smokey but pretty. Have a wedding to go to this weekend and will be wearing this look again. Many, many thanks for something so quick, simple and terrific looking.

  • Geeze, Sarah, you really are GOOD! Your close-ups are excellent, and following your teaching is truly easy! Thanx

  • beautiful I LOVE YOUR LOOKS n_n

  • wow thank you so much for the recommendations for other skin tones!! absolutely helpful!

  • >_> at 3:37 you got makeup in your eye 2 times O_O doesnt that bother your eye?

  • @deadxpunkxlover2 ive done it....it makes ur eyes a bit dry but it doesnt hurt or anything

  • I think this is BEAUTIFUL !! But I know for sure that after an hour or so my black in the waterline will gather in a gross black mess in my tearduct :-(

  • Amazing! Thank you so much for this :D

  • I love you!! I have green eyes and I've tried to make this look and it's wonderful!

(it's correct in english?) sorry! I'm Italian! kiss :)) Alice

  • this is my go to look, so easy but it looks like i put a lot of effort into it

  • Beautiful!:)

  • I really appreciate that you gave options for all different skin tones =)

  • So pretty Sarah!!

  • i love how your so thoughhtful bout all people with all lovely skin tones (:

  • Love this. Also, miss your videos. Must be a busy lady!

  • nice day time smokey, im so used to the dramatic version, thanks Sarah

  • what do u do when the paint pots dry out or pull away from the sides? Mine are still functional but just slightly harder to blend because they arent as creamy as they used to be. Should I still keep going until i cant handle it?

  • @lyricaleloquence i have same problem, and i keep the lids tightly on too

  • Sarah what camera do you use for your photos?

  • @sakigirl87 oh never mind i read your FAQ's

  • Sarah, recent videos are awesome :)

  • im so happy ur doin more vids ur amazing

  • I love your videos but was not feeling the music. lol.

  • great video as always. helped me a lot, thank you <3<3

  • love it!

  • Ha Ha -- I think people are counting the carbon shadow to get 5 -- either way, great look! i like how there is not a lot of fuss with different shadows here. Makes it a lot easier, especially for me as I have hooded eyes and if I do the 'traditional' smokey eye with base, contour, outer corner and highlight (as well as liner) - all you see is a little bit of it when I relax my lid. So I really appreciate a simpler look like the one you've created here! Thanks Sarah! keep em' coming!!!

  • i love the look and i love that you put a list of other shades for different skin tones, its a good idea, we're not all the same and something that you might wear might not show up on me. thank you.

  • A lovely and soft smokey eye,with just a few products.I love that,and it's fast also.Great tutorial Sarah.Thank you. :)

  • I really appreciate the suggestions for different skin tones. Thank you.

  • thank u, this is gonna make such a great day-time smokey eye. i was looking 4 a simple, casual version da ur usual over-the-top smokey eye

  • really good

  • Fantastic and it looks so easy...! Really beautiful.

My lid tone is dark, do you think that colour would suit me??? Thank you

  • @melopedi Well, what is your skin tone/nationality? "Dark" as in what color?

  • wow your eyes look great! love that look. my eye lashes are also short and light colored like yours are.what kind of mascara did you use.it made your lashes look wow!

  • really nice look... <3

  • Wonderful Sarah

All the time you took to put the different colours for different skin tones was so helpful and I am sure time consuming. Just wanted you to know we appreciate your efforts.

    Another perfect tutorial

    Melanie

  • You look beautiful

  • So awesome you look beautiful with this look :)

  • THanks for all the suggestions for other skin tones! :)

  • классно)))

  • Okay, I totally underestimated you. I really appreciate the annotated suggestions for different complexions. Thank you!!

  • you are so beautiful, you have so pretty eyes!

  • that's a beautiful simple smokey eye sarah

  • LOVE this....!

  • I did exactly the same look on myself last week :) It's so easy ond pretty!

  • So easy and pretty, thumbs up =))

  • i emailed you two pics of the indian bridal looks i would like to see you recreate i hope you got them :-)

  • ...was this not 5 products?

  • @3eckyLynne Primer, 1 shadow, liner, mascara = 4 products

  • @SarahVictor I'm sorry Sarah,but you've used 2 shadows.First "Copperplate and then Carbon.So i'm counting also 5 products?With the primer- 2 eye shadows-pencil liner and mascara it's 5.But please correct me if i'm wrong.

  • @MonikaLoveYouM AAAAAAAAAHHH!! You are totally right! hahahhaha holy crap my brain is mush...

  • @SarahVictor Ahww Sarah, but hey 5 products is still not mutch for sutch a beautiful look.Nothing wrong with your brain!! xxx

  • @3eckyLynne I thought the same girl.

  • some ppl suggest when lining the waterline in black to not go all the way in, have you tried that on urself?

  • @pinkpeachz For my eye shape I can get away with going all the way in to my tear duct - it creates a "smaller eye shape" for me. If I did the liner only on the outside (or half way) it would create a more drawn out eye on the outer corner. But since my eyes are hooded, if I did that with only one shadow and no other shadow on the outer portion, they'd look down turned and droopy.

  • @SarahVictor same here. Alot of gals make that mistake. I have to go all the way in too.I think it looks odd on me if i dont. I have the droop lid since I am 41 now.... I'm always wishing my brow would go back up where it belongs LOL

  • beautiful and simple!

  • I really appreciate you including alternatives for various skin tones :) thanks!

  • can you also suggest some mac msf for olive skin tones (NC40) not too glittery ones..will warm soul be good?? plz help xx

  • this is so beautiful and simple! love it! btw you are gorgeous! (:

  • wow you are amazinggg!!!! i am NC 40 and its very difficult to follow tutorials with other gurus because they do not precisely suggest colors for different skin tones!! kudos to you..i just fav this video xx

  • i get it in my eye all the time....im use to it we makeup beauties just ignore and accept it, ur such a makeup queen lol so am i.lol..

  • hi I was wondering if you could tell me what is the lumious shine to your skin like on your upper brow area and forehead in the still pics at the end? its very pretty looking and I know you said your skin is on the oily side i think and acne prone so I would love to know the glossyness you use for it to look like this. Something you could recommend in the line of price of mac or cheaper. Thanks much appreciate it and always love yur vids for the longest take care.

  • @chrissys31 If you're my skin tone then you can just use a shiny champagne eyeshadow you have at home! But, I used "By Candlelight" from MAC. It's $26.

  • BEATIFUL .... as always :)

  • This is a weird question, but the bristles of my 266 brush poke me and it hurts a bit...haha is this normal, did I do a poor job caring for it, or is it just how some of them are? Thanks!

Beautiful look, by the way! :)

  • @SazzyIsSnazzy The 266 is meant to be a softer angled brush. I'm thinking you may need a new one :-) brushes aren't supposed to hurt the eye. You sure you don't have the 208?

  • @SazzyIsSnazzy I got 2 266 brushes and they both are really harsh, they are travel size though, maybe the regular one are better, I don't know but honestly, the ones I got feel like sand paper on a brush!!

  • I love this look!

  • OMG Sarah u remembered. Thanks for including alternative colors for alternative skin shades. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • wow that is simple and looks pretty.

  • My eyes weep like crazy when I put anything on my water line. *sigh* it looks so great on you though.

  • @Tinkers484 Mine used to as well. The trick is to go slowly and BLINK AS MUCH AS YOU NEED TO! Don't pull the eye down very far either, it only hurts and allows more air in there.

  • @SarahVictor Thanks for the reply! You are one of the nicest Youtubers out there :)

  • love how you list the options for products

  • Please create a Rachel Bilson Makeup tutorial???....

  • Beautiful. Great how you put the different options for different skintone babe

  • I love that you give dupes for darker skin tones. When I watch other gurus I spend so much time trying to figure out how to make it look right on me. Thanks

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful...which eyeliner do you use for your waterline?

  • love how you have all the info in the bottom bar!! very helpful!!

  • Beautiful.

  • totally wearable! Even for daily use or a party!

  • your videos are great and so informative! thanks!

  • good job! :) what did you use on your brows? and can you also do a smokey eye look using mulch e/s? thanks you! i love your vids :)

  • Whoa, I think you totally accidentally got black eyeshadow on your eye when you were setting your waterline, in the outer corner.

  • @cjx3pooh LOL I totally did haha. It's alright though. You can't feel it and it doesn't cause any harm. It made me cringe to watch up close though! xoxo

  • @SarahVictor Oh really? I thought it'd be bothersome b/c I get eyelashes in my eyes all the time after washing my face, and it kind of hurts, lol

  • I am an NC40 in MAC and soft ochre matches my eyelid colour perfectily. Quite natural will be too dark for this skin tone, unless that is the base your going after. Thanks for a great tutorial as usual.

  • @sattvic999 You can get away with wearing the Quite Natural paint pot if it's applied with a brush! Try it out sometime, it would look great on your tone :)

  • AWESOME! looks super easy and totally wearable!

  • It's so helpful that you give suggestions for all skin types!!! You're one of the best gurus on YT!

  • So simple yet, gorgeous as well. Thanks as always for sharing :)

  • im not a mac foundation wearer but im the shade wheat in clinique superbalanced foundation and i use groundwork painpot as primer but it looks ashy and grey probally cause im warm toned...how can i fix this?

thanx i love ur vids and informative tutorials! =)

  • @44xorihimex44 Groundwork tends to look ashy on warmed toned skin unfortunately. it has a sort of silvery/grey undertone to it for some reason lol. Try Bamboo PAINT not the paint pot. It may work better for you :)

  • this is so pretty and simple! I love when you got black on your eyeball lol

  • @RoseTinted LOL I saw that too haha! Looking up close made me cringe but you can't feel it at all thankfully :)

  • very nice and simple and looks really beautiful

  • you can hardly see it.....it doesn't look bad...but it doesn't make much of a difference....

  • @BBReyn Hardly see what?

  • Love this look it's super fast and easy. Thanks for sharing!

  • Amazing look :)

and those annotations for different colours that would suite different skintones was really helpful :D thank you!

  • If you were you use a primer on your eye that didn't go with your skintone or for your skin tone does it matter???? Oh and Love the video very awesome

  • @Nicoledaly87 Do you mean, if you choose to use a primer that is colored darker than your skin tone?

  • @SarahVictor yeah if you were to get a different paint pot colour like if you got Quite Natural and you were a soft Ochre would it matter?

  • @Nicoledaly87 Nope! The Paint Pots are designed to be cream eye shadows. You can use them in place of pressed shadows or pigments. When you apply them though, don't apply it all over the eye, but on the lid and blended in to the crease rather. Use a flat brush to apply on the lid and a blending brush to apply and blend in the crease :)

  • @SarahVictor Ok thanks girlie

  • it looks similar to the look "Twiggy" used for some of her signature smokey eye looks. Nice and easy, thanks for sharing.

  • very beautiful!

  • So nice to see something so simple yet so beautiful.

  • Another great video, thanks Sarah! Question please--lining my lower waterline with makes my [dark brown] eyes look smaller. Any suggestions on how to do this without tight-lining the lower inner rim with black liner? Thanks!

  • This look is gorgeous! I really hope you do more looks using minimal products, it makes it so much more do-able for for your viewers. Keep up the videos, they are great!

  • @sashastelle Thanks! Ya' that's what I'm thinking, too. BUT people will get bored with it quickly. I'll keep doing the looks with minimal products every month though :)

  • You've just proved that less is sooooooooooooo much more. Simply gorgeous. :D

  • Are you sure you don't have Quite Natural and Groundwork mixed up for the shade groupings? Groundwork is a lot lighter than Quite Natural...

  • I love this! well i love all of your videos :) You're the best!!!

  • This is such a wearable smokey-eye. xD

    really simple too. (:

    thanks for sharing. :D

  • lovely as usual

  • I like how you have the different colors for different skin tones.

  • I like this look.. it's something we can use everyday.. It's a very common and that for me makes it great.. cause you explain it very well...Thanks for the videos... great for beginners..

  • I love to wear black eyeshadows for dark looks but I don't like to use 'em in the morning, but, this look suits perfectly! (for me)

  • Yay!!! Sarah's back with an awesome makeup tutorial!!

  • I had never really payed attention to the absolutly adorable eyecolour you have

  • @milirod Thanks! It's like a green, blue, aqua, gold combo deal hahaha

  • @SarahVictor yas it pretty amazingg, soo beautiful

  • I don't like this look that much, but what I really like about your videos is that you always give tips for any type of skintone!

  • Hey! that looks great and nevertheless it's so easy to achieve! *must try* it's quite scary (funny), you have exactly the same special eyecolor as me and the same name! luv all your vids, thanks so much for sharing! greetings <3<3

  • Sarah, what did you used on your eyebrow? Pls lemme know! Thanks!

  • so beautiful sarah !!

  • Looks gorgeous! Very pretty! =)
