I think the other term of awakening your looking for is suppressed awakening. In other words, where you believe you are otherkin, but everybody else (and even yourself in some way) disbelieve that you are not human in spirit. Awakening to your otherkinness is never an easy, I'm still figuring a bit more about myself as an otherkin a little more everyday. (can u guess what kind?) The best thing I can suggest is to just stick with what you feel is right in your heart. BTW... your really cute <3
Hey I have a question. I truly believe I have wolf in me or share my spirit with one and I was wondering if that makes me an Otherkin or a Therian. I am a bit confused on the difference too...lol
i use to think i was a cat until my friend told me i tend to growl and howl in my sleep and at school and i cant meow wereth a shit lols so we did some yoga and meditation and three nights latter my wolf came to me and told me its time to finaley know what i am :)
This may be silly, or just some funny thing, but it made me curious, and I'd like to see what you have to say about it: I have a girl cousin around 4 (at the time this happened she was 2-3). But I was playing Memory with her(flip the cards over, match them up in pairs) and she was amazing. She got almost every single one paired and I didn't show her the cards beforehand. Is this a spirtual thing she couldbe expirencing or just luck?
@ZhatoraKin As an "inferior pest" I would like you to just take a second and think about others before opening your mouth. Such as in chess each piece (person) has their place and uses. Never underestimate "pests"
@autonomousanomaly You all seem very nice, but it's not really possible to be anything beyond that. Humans are humans, we're our own animal and we aren't meant to be something else. It's like saying how a dog believes he has the body of a shellfish in him, or that he's a vampire dog.
@TheCivvy i think its really mature that you're not flying off the handle like a lot of people do when they come across different beliefs, but until you can give them proof that they are wrong people will live the way they want. the truth is, as long as they dont hurt themselves or others it doesnt matter.
@shadowjerky69 This is true, but I have met otherkin whom go to great extents to make people believe they are wolves/dragons/whatever to the point where they *do* hurt people, which is disconcerting.
@TheCivvy Then your quarrel is not with the general believers but their extremists, every belief system has them. don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch.
My status as an old-man has been a progressive awakening where my digestion has been touchy at times and the toilet-time experience has changed. There are many areas of life where a progressive awakening can occur.

Hey, I'm a wolf therian. When I was 4 my parents split and that was when I started acting like animals. I didn't think it was weird or that I wasn't human, I only found out I was 'strange' when people at school started to avoid me and when I started doing research, I found out about this stuff and now I'm starting to awaken more. As for me I learned about my own draconity at around 13ish. I didnt learn the word otherkin till I joined a dragonsite when I was 18. If you want to know more feel free to pm me. So anyway what do you think of duel awakenings?
Greetings, I liked the last few videos, this one was very informative, I myself am dragonkin, Im actually a duel spirit, as in two spirits in one vessel, she is also a dragon.
She was first to awaken, this was when I was actually 5. True I was not as deep of thought, I just thought of myself as a boy with a dragon. I must say when she woke up I was afraid of her, before it I had very vivid dreams about her, and then one dark night there was a big black shadowy figure was on my bed. continued
i'm glad to know there is a progressive, i kept waiting for my awakening like, when is it going to happen or have i already or will i awaken at all and i felt bogged down by these questions, but i think i can accept now that this will take time
I agree. One thing about that is, when its a tramatic awakening, its forced rather your ready or not, being so young, it would have a dramtic effect on you, body wearing out, not being able to handle the mental shifts or any other shifts, I awakened early to when i was 13, I ignored it and ran for awhile but still...
So your a Therian "Were" (whichever), Angelic, and Draconic... Awesome, and trust me there's many more of us "heinz 57s" hybrids out there. 19 huh, enjoy it while it lasts lol, 26 here but still young atleast physically lol. Awakening is i believe a long process no matter how to try to put "terms" on it. I started awakening at an early age however like life itself, there's always something new to witness or learn :)
I actually awakened when I was five. It might be a rare case, but it does happen for some people. There's really no "right age" for when a person awakens, really.
Lol... I've gone feral plenty a time [Siberian Husky here] I've lashed out at my parents... Punched through walls... Broken many game controllers... OH!!! I FLIPPED A DESK BECAUSE MY TEACHER MADE ME MAD O_o... also cracked a desk with my head... Anywho... I much prefer to set up right like a canine...... lolz... beter at jumping on all fours though :I
Oooh it seems the dragons called you. Yeah usually they wait untill a person is more stabile. Dragons seem to have a strange insight to offer. Some things about dragons are so off this planet that .. well how to understand them. But it isn't a terrible thing.
After all draconity does improves things. In their own ways..
@masticina Yeah, Dragons are far more complex creatures, and I suppose it doesn't surprise me too much to find that I was one in one of my main past lives. It takes someone who's experienced and very stable and in control to handle being a Dragon. My mate, Kaal, is mainly Draconic, and he's had a lot of issues with it/or because of it, but he handles it really well, and I respect how much control he has, since he's also Demonic.
Ah yes control those with great power better have great control. Dragonkin can really do a number on you. Things well turn up a knob, become more you become more passionate about the things you love. Dragons see beyond what we can see! So far I found it hard to even make sense some times of it but it works. And in the end it probably works out.
@masticina Agreed entirely, again. :) When I astral-shift to my Dragon forme, I become much...pushier, much more passionate, and more competitive. I become...fiery, is a great word for it. I feel SEXY.
Whereas, my Wolf forme is more down-to-earth, more peaceful and forgiving and relaxed.
And, my Angelic (not 'Angel', but very very similar) forme makes me SUPER peaceful, and want to save everyone's lives. xD
As far as things go Original soul, wolf. Later chosen by the dragonic spirits I can only say that life certainly is interresting if you allow your passions to lead you.
Strange how easy some forget what makes life really interresting.
@masticina I have been waiting for someone else to realize this, we always have strange insight to give. Staff members at school respect me just as much as the superintendant because the things I say defy my body's age. There are secrets about us draconic that I may not reveal but if anyone has questions, just ask; and if I can give an answer, then you shall recieve. One thing i would like to share though, and I've been meaning to talk to Sister Kani about this; she used to be one of my generals
Ah words I use myself also. Ask and you shall learn just never ask where it comes from. Because that seems to be the issue at hand. Knowledge like a waterfall but no way to show anyone the waterfall.
I have found others who we're awoken to the dragon spirit. I aided others in waking up.
Yet I claim no name or title for such. It is what we do and .. that is part of the mystery.
A life long journey get used to it. Even in the end days of your mortal life you still have things to learn. Our identity and deeper insights are such to.
@WolfHowl713 Oops, not sure if it was YOUR message, or someone else's, but it was about the same thing; telling family, so I am going to do a video about it. :D
I would agree that very young children often don't have the mental capacity to think on that level about their sense of self. Although from what I have observed, otherkin and therianthropy surfaces around the early teenage years, when children develop more of a sense of individuality and self expression. This to me is more evidence of it being a psychological phanomanon, but I of course mean no offense by that. Far from it! The human mind is a wonderful machine, so I love to learn about it.
I'm pretty sure my awakening was traumatic. Because when I was fairly young. (7 or six) I moved in with my grandparents and it was really hard on me. But I don't exactly remember. My memory is awful >.<
But, I have always remembered that I talked to 'monsters' in my grandparents house. (which probably was haunted). But when I read a book (The Summoning) the character in the book had the same thing happen to her. She talked to 'monsters'. And after I read that I had flashbacks(?).
And I understand what you're getting at, but not the full situation you were in, I guess. How did your flashbacks lead you to awakening? What were your flashbacks of?
A born awakening doesn't necessarily imply that the child has the capacity to *understand* what they know; it's more of an intrinsic feeling. A child can know it is hungry, or if it is tired, so too can a child can know that it belongs somewhere else.
It's difficult for someone who didn't awaken this way not to look at it as a moment of realization, even if you realize that's not the case. Think of it more in terms of identity, there's no one point you just understand, it's simply always there.
Born awakenings do however also come with both elements of what you define as progressive and traumatic awakenings. When the knowledge is already there, recollecting it can switch on like a light sometimes, like you had amnesia but something familiar brings it all crashing back.
It's possible that all progressive and traumatic awakenings stem from a born awakening that is merely forgotten, or that it's always a mix of the three - when we try to put things into categories the lines tend to blur.
@TheFounderUtopia Hmmm, that does make a lot of sense. So, if I always loved wolves even before I could really tell/understand the differences between them and other canines, and have always connected with canines even as a newborn and toddler, would that be considered a born awakening, and it simply flooded back to me during my "traumatic" awakening?
Again it's hard to know where to draw the line when defining something so interprative, but if I had to venture an attempt I would say it's perhaps comparable to being gay - insomuch as your entire life you *know* you are different, or at least that there's something about you that makes sense only to you, and yet doesn't make sense when applied to the picture of the world others offer. Not being gay though I can't be assured that this analogy is accurate. You get the idea. :P
@TheFounderUtopia - I know what you mean. I'm not gay, but I am bisexual. I realized when I was in high school that I was attracted to both genders, but I didn't have a word for that until I was older.
So I suppose your description does fall in line with what I'm describing, but the actual fact of being born awakened is something that is very difficult to put into words, I think the only way to put it is to say that it's something you just *know*. You don't know what you know (accidental Matrix quote ftw) but as you get older it becomes clearer and clearer to you. However we are of course discussing something perceptual, so it could be different for everyone.
@TheFounderUtopia *Nods* I understand the concept, I think, but I don't know if that can really be called a born awakening.
Since we're souls born into another body, our souls will have all the memories of the past. Therefore, technically, we'd all be "born awakened". We all know, at the earliest ages in life, that we're different. No Otherkin I've spoken to felt 'human' before they awakened. The awakening was just a... "divine moment of enlightenment", in which everything suddenly makes sense.
@KanishtaaNaijuuk - I always felt human before I was introduced to the concept of otherkin. I thought I thought differently because I had a higher IQ. But then I also had glimspes of past life memories, was a lucid dreamer & dream-walker, and realized I was kind of like a succubus sometimes, though I didn't identify to others as anything but human. Now, I think of myself as being mostly human, but with a vampiric otherkin side as well.
@TheFounderUtopia So, we can say we're all born awakened... Or we aren't. *shrugs* Either way, our soul always has the memories. It doesn't just forget them when we're born into a human body, they don't disappear. Awakening is simply when we realize what all the memories we get, all the visions, and odd phenomenon are because our souls are inhuman.
ive just recently realized i was a therian, mine was a progressive awakening. any ways this vid was really interesting

Make sense? :S
