  • Once I MW3 for 65 dollars and i went back cause i already had it for ps3 they said they would give 25 dollars just because i fucking opened it

  • @PrehestoricMegalodon Whats your point? Any other retail store wouldn't have given you anything for it, they would have said "tough shit" and sent you back out of the store with your game.

  • Yup, Gamestop gave me fable for pc the same way. The case was even cracked and wouldnt stay shut. Also my friend bought god of War 2 new and it had a literal chunk missing out of the disc. Another bud got Madden 12, they gave him a used copy for new price because "they didnt have any more new copies". Even though the game just came out, he got a fresh copy later from a different employee. Gamestop sucks.

  • @oldskoolbrian then threaten to report them to the better business burrea for poor costomer service and if that dose'nt do anything the actualy do it

  • play n trade > gamestop... that actually happened to me at play n trade with madden 12 for xbox360 but that was because it was the last game so they gave me the display game which they take the disc out so nobody steals it..but it did have all the inserts and there was no markings on the disc so i was still satisfied...i prefer play n trade over gamestop though because the employees are usually more helpful and friendly and gamestop stop selling retro games which was a HUGE mistake

  • @retrogamer816 There is no Play N Trade close to where I live... I can understand selling the last copy opened but my prob was not having the inserts... Also they had NEW and sealed copies of the game there so I was a bit mad they would give me the open copy.

  • They did this to my lil nephew. But they were trying to trick him by ghetto shrink warping the used game making him think it was new. I went back talked to the manager and made them give my nephew a refund. They freaked out when I told them I was gonna call GameStop corporate.

  • @Ca1619Guy I contacted Gamestop corporate and never received a response back.

  • OMG!!! I JUST, literally posted a question on TWO forums about this because this just happened to me with the 3DS. I got 9 games from Gamestop NEW since launch, and NONE of them came with the Club Nintendo insert. I just found this out when I tried to register my games.

  • @lwomar It's crazy how that stuff works... I bought a DS new from Gamstop and didn't get my Gamestop points for it.

  • Gamestop sucks!

I went to buy tekken 6 for 20$ & then i wanted to sell it back,

    THEY ONLY OFFERED ME 5$

    Those sons of bitches

  • Anyone ever tell you that you kinda look like adam levine

  • @MrWannabeFamous1 Nope.. LOL.. Thats a first.

  • Most well known game stores are like that. In sydney australia eb games is the same, alright i get the theft issue then they should just put 1 display case outside and when someone wants the game they should go inside and get them the sealed copy from the back its that simple. Also if they are out of stock they should put a sticker saying out of stock on the display game case.

But thats too hard for them.

  • LOL its even in a recycled case, that is ridiculous.

  • If you realy want to rattle your local gamestop store's cage, your going to have to complain to the corperate office! working in retail myself I can tell you the only real way to see a solution is to go to the bigshots in suits and ties!

  • @jeffrielly I contacted Gamestop corporate twice and never received a response back.

  • That's why I go to Best Buy or Amazon and if I want to resell stuff Ebay is awesome for getting more money.

  • I do not deal with Gamestop anymore. I got screwed over WAY too many times for various reasons. If I want a NEW game it is either Wal-Mart or Target. If I want used, it's off to Game Xchange or Entertain-Mart!

  • I once bought a Gamecube game at Gamestop that looked like someone had gone over it with sandpaper for a few hours. When I went back to return it, I asked if they had another copy. The guy hands me the same exact copy I just gave him and says "Here's one." I then left the store in a fit of rage.

  • Never had any problems with Game Stop, other than their trade-in values. Maybe its just certain stores?

  • Yeah, it fucking pisses me off BAD when they do that shit to me. thats why i pre-order EVERYTHING cause if they open my fucking pre-order and they open THAT i would kick their fucking ASSES. and whats worse? ive had FRIENDS that laugh and joke about how they go home with the (new) games and play them. then bring em back when they are done!

  • I'm a former employee, and I can tell you that this stuff happens ALL the time. I hate the fact that we did that, but needless to say that I am working for a different game store now.

  • dude that kind of happen to me i bought red deadredemtion from game stop,i started to play it and i notice that all the character are strippers i was like wtf

  • What happened is they did not have any new sealed boxes. The disk should have been new and they should have given you all the stuff that comes with the booklet. I have had times when gamestop has given me a new game with a case that was not new since it was the display case. I would complain though since its clearly not a new disk and they did not give you all the stuff included with a new copy of the game

  • 3:37 scared the shit out of me theres a evil spirit whispering...

  • the moment u lef the store u r fuk here advice buy new games target besbuy buy used from gamstop no 1 will believe u

  • solution jailbreak you wii

  • After watching your video it feels like you are crying over spilled milk. Gamestop has a policy to "gut" the last remaining copy of the new games that they have to display the product on the shelf. The game is place in the envelope and stored in a drawer. Its not played or sold to anyone so its NEW by law. Sometimes you get a bad copy like this, all you have to do is take it back and get another copy and it only cost THREE DOLLARS for a 1 year game protection plan. Stop sweating the small stuff.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI don't be so ignorant because obviously you don't know shit when it comes to that BS 1 year protection plan, fact it's all false advertisment gamestop won't replace the product knowing you paid for the $3 warranty as the reciept will prove where/when you did the purchased, I made a big deal on what was the point of you guys offering me the warranty when you are denying to replace the game? he gets all mad & starts making threats to get security, funny they didn't do shit 2 me

  • @Realistix808 I'm sorry but since you don't have the ability to even form a COHERENT SENTENCE I don't even know what you are trying to say. Are you saying Gamestop won't honor their warranty? Or are you whining because the guy wouldn't replace the game for you? Regardless, learn some basic grammar and start from the beginning before you expect anyone to take what you have to say seriously.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI yup you best be sorry for being such a hopeless retard that can't stick to the subject at hand because you're talking about "spelling grammer"? wow lmfao that's not the point moron like I said when shit hits the fan gamestop won't do anything about it so how can gamestop honor a warranty that was full of shit to begin with in the first place? can't answer? Of course I don't expect an ignorant jackass like you to take me seriously or anyone for that matter Obviously you did HAHA

  • @Realistix808 I didn't change the point at all, I simply stated an obvious fact that you have shitty spelling and grammar. Anyway that's obvious for everyone to see so let's move on. Gamestop won't do a thing about it? A warranty thats "full of shit"? Lol you are so butt hurt you are making shit up now... for the sake of entertainment though, let's hear it. What happened to you to make you hate Gamestop so much? How did they "not honor their warranty"? Stupid angry kid..

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Wow exactly my point you're getting off the subject here again dumbass & what kind of shit I'm I making up here? when you can't even read & comprehend a simple story that actually happened it's really good to know how idiotic you are when it comes to the spelling grammer when a clown like you can't get it properly ROFL & where does it say that I "hate" gamestop? LOL god you're such a loser you don't know anything when it comes down to facing real issues, you have no life skills

  • @Realistix808 You've never told a story you stupid piece of shit!! All you keep spewing is the same old shit "Gamestop doesn't honor their warranty.. gamestop lies.... boo hoo" You have yet to make a valid point about Gamestop, their policies or their warranties since this entire thing. I'm sure you don't have one so go ahead, run your dick licker some more and spew some more insults since you don't have anything valid to say.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI HAHA how mentally challenged are you? read all the comments no actually read the 1st comment I left for you again ok LOL obviously you don't have any common sense when it comes to life experiences so I suggest you get out more little man.. come to think of it you're mad at the fact I addressed you as someone who doesn't know shit when it does come to gamestop's warranty & policies(ignorant), So their is no reason to make a valid point to you for you're very incompetant & foolish

  • @Realistix808 Your terribly structured first comment was written so horribly that all I could gather is that you were mad because gamestop wouldn't replace a game for you? That's what the warranty is for idiot, if you don't have a warranty don't expect a replacement. Since you would rather make childish insults and assumptions about my life instead of explain the problem you had an make reasonable point, I am done with you. You are a joke.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI a duh... I did buy the warranty how else would I know that the warranty is so full of shit to begin with you retard & how lame can you be by defending a company that clearly doesn't know how to handle business, atleast it's good to know that I'm not a dork with different youtube accounts liking my own comments you obviously don't know anything for that's the joke, if you can't handle the truth or any of the facts I've been saying I strongly suggest that you shut the fuck up LOL

  • @Realistix808 Hahaha, liking my own comments? Different youtube comments? Lol whatever make you feel better about yourself. Obviously other people just see how full of shit you are. Gamestop has some shitty policies, i'll be the first to admit. But their warranty is the same as any other and you are apparently so stupid that you can't even explain WHY you don't like the warranty.. you'd rather call people names and act like a 10 year old.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Nope see there you go with your head so far up your ass again I've had warranty's on other games & stuff from different stores & when it's damaged or deceased they would usually replace the product no questions asked, unlike gamestop giving me & I also believe others out there "the run around" wow it's funny all of sudden your saying "gamestop has some shitty policies" When in fact you don't know anything I'll be the first to admit that you need to learn about "perspective"

  • @Realistix808 I know nothing about gamestop? I work at gamestop you uneducated twat. I've been a third key for almost a year now. I believe I know much more than you about the place than you, even though you come off as an arrogant asshole who thinks he knows everything. You can't even admit to what they did to wrong you.. all you say is "gave me the run around". You are bitching simply to bitch, they probably never even did a damn thing to you. Now shut the fuck up, whiny bitch.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI lmfao wow all of sudden you work at gamestop now? & yet it's very instresting that I've been correcting you on something you had no knowledge about in the 1st place haha!! what a dumbass cunt face liar you wish you worked at gamestop & it's more funny knowing that the workers at gamestop didn't know shit about their own companies "warranty's/products" & also even have the slightlest idea on how to take care of their customers, they don't know anything about gaming either u FAIL

  • @Realistix808 You have to be the most ill informed, ignorant person on youtube. Yes, I work at gamestop.. I could tell you in detail any policy they have.. from daily cat counts, perpetual counts, system counts, RSB's or any other thing that is common there. You have not "corrected me" about a single thing. All you have done is whine and cry about their warranty, which to this very minute you have still not explained why.. I'm done with you. You have become stale.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI you must be proud to be the most retarded employee at gamestop on youtube being so clueless on your own policies LOL good to know that I'm earning more money than you because I don't get paid minimum wage you poor bastard ahahahaha!! I already told you so much times that the product was "deceased & damaged"(no longer working) & yet you're too damn stupid & stubborn to comprehend the facts ahahaha!! my advice to you is to find a better paying job gamestop aint gonna last long ;)

  • @Realistix808 I agree in the long run gamestop won't be happening for they're very unreliable & you're absolutely right when it comes to gamestop not following through for customers because of their dumbass principles or policies, But still there was no need to shut the poor guy down for not knowing anything about his own job even though thats a huge reflection on himself as an employee from gamestop being on youtube being ignorant towards others that actually have real opinions to say

  • @Realistix808 I agree in the long run gamestop won't be happening for they're very unreliable & you're absolutely right when it comes to gamestop not following through for customers because of their dumbass principles or policies, But still there was no need to shut the poor guy down for not knowing anything about his own job even though thats a huge reflection on himself as an employee from gamestop on youtube being ignorant asshole towards others that actually do have real opinions to say

  • If I were you I go right back to the store and go stright to the clerk and be like "WTF IS THIS S#IT!! U THINK I'M STUIPD U THINK THIS A JOKE WELL GUESS WHAT I'M NOT LAUGHING!! I WANT MY FUCKING MONEY BACK OR A REAL BRAND NEW COPY OF KIRBY RIGHT NOW!! AND U KNOW I LIVE JUST AROUND THE CORNER SO U CAN KEEP FU%KING WITH ME IF U WANT 2 AND I'M GONNA LEAVE AND COME BACK WITH MY SHOTGUN AND BLOW YOUR FU%KING HEAD OFF!!" You know more or less :)

  • we asked for the best copy they had of cod waw and there was only one scratch right in the middle if the disk and that's not all i took it the disk and the scratch was like it was cut with siccors you could rip the disk in half easily it was already ripped in the middle

  • Ive had it happened to once. I think they do dis because there greety. The disc that I got was a madden 12 disc. It had a bad scratch on it and I took it back. Gamestop is a company that is dishonest. Like not telling u that dis game has been already opened. This refers 2 d people that are new 2 gamestop.

  • 32 people work for gamestop!

  • For me, Gamestop sucks because they dont carry classic Gameboy or Gameboy Color games anymore.

  • And yes, I used to work for a Gamestop.

  • Gamestop has to gut games because of theft issues. They try to make sure that games stay as in tact as they can and sometimes mistakes happen.

If you have problems with a new purchase, they're happy to exchange it for you. If you buy a used game, there is a guarantee, either it'll work or you'll get your money back for it.

And yes, with every traded-in they check them to make sure they work. If they don't, they still take it, give the customer less money for it, and send it off for repairs.

  • @OmegaMan4000 If I buy a New game from Gamestop and it's opened "No plastic wrap" How do I return it when the return policy for Gamestop is

"Any product(s) that has been opened (taken out of its plastic wrap). "

Thats taken directly off the Gamestop website.

  • @OldSkoolBrian there's an exclusion, if your buying game, and you agree to the "gutted" ( disk taken out of the case for security reasons) then if that seal is in tact, you could either swap it out for another game or get a full refund within the first 30 days of purchase. But if that seal looks like its been tampered with or is broken then gamestop has the right to refuse. Don't blame the company, but the shit employees that gamestop sometimes gets, who don't explain the policy.

  • @OldSkoolBrian Gamestop policy is to place a seal on the game case if it's a new "gutted" copy of the game. If you remove this seal, it's considered open and you are stuck with it unless it's defective. Same policy as best buy, target, walmart..

  • @OldSkoolBrian That "plastic seal" replaces the plastic wrap, its the entire reason they put it there in the first place, as far as the club nintendo points, as the person you replied too said, they have to gut games, this means one case goes out on the wall. People still shit all the time from the cases on the wall, from points, to posters, to even the game manuals for some stupid reason.

  • @lncoherentIy steal*

  • @OmegaMan4000

You obviously don't know jack shit about gamestop. I could go in to a lengthy comment on everything wrong about it but there isn't enough characters to describe my hatred for their ill will 'business practices.'

You need to see RazorFists gamestop rant. There ya go.

    /watch?v=TQfyEdmUQ9s

  • @eyeheartgames I used to work at a Gamestop. That's how we did business. If we sold a used product someone wasn't happy with, they got their money back. I can't remember the exact protocol for new products (I admit that much) but I just get tired of people claiming Gamestop is some evil empire of gaming. While I don't agree with some of their practices, I think people tend to blow things out of proportion when it comes to Gamestop. My experience is they genuinely try to be helpful when they can.

  • @OmegaMan4000

Oh wait I think I know the problem here, when did you work at gamestop? I remember when they weren't trying to maul me everytime I went into their store. Sadly those days have come and gone.

  • @eyeheartgames It was probably 2003 or 2004 when I last worked at a Gamestop. Hard to believe that was 8 or 9 years ago haha. Times may have changed at Gamestop. I honestly don't do much business with them now that Best Buy does trade-ins and stuff, so they may actually have changed their policies since I last worked for them.

    Anything's possible.

Sorry if I came across as angry earlier. May just be a breakdown in communication.

  • @OmegaMan4000

WOW it has been a while and their prick powers seem to grow all teh time. LoL your waaaay to modest apologizing to me about anger. I'm the angry bastard, I feel like i've stepped in the twilight zone. O_o

Its good that you go to bestbuy FTW but if you ever want to be mauled by a "sales associate" head over to GS.

  • @eyeheartgames Ironic thing is I've got several job interviews coming up, one of them is a managerial job at a Gamestop haha. I guess I should probably consider the other three interviews more heavily.

Also, Best Buy allows me to use Trade-In credit for things other than games. Fuck yes Best Buy ftw.

  • @OmegaMan4000 so gamestop has to lie to us?

  • i think its pretty shitty of them my self and i would definitely go there and demand a new copy of the game or get my money back

  • @terrygt10 I went there and they gave me a new sealed copy with no problem at all.

  • i saw the guys at gamestop gutting games

one guy said he would gut a game for me to see if the peripheral (3D Glasses) were included as they were included before

    CANADAS EB GAMES IS BETTER

  • ebay

  • That's why I go to Walmart for games, 20% discount =P but I some Sims DS and 3DS and got 15$ for it, barely used, full box and manual.

  • i bought a brand new fallout 3 and when i pulled it out it was scratched horribly and did not even work. oh yeah and i think ur house is haunted cuz i herd some CREEPY LITTLE GIRLS VOICE AT THE END

  • @sobwitchhunter That voice at the end is fucking weird!

  • I once bought a Panasonic 3DO from there. When I got home, it was a Goldstar 3DO in the box. I bought my wife a Chrysler 300 and when I got it home, I found that it was really a Yugo with the Chrysler emblem on it. Ripoffs!

  • this shit happened to me when i bought raiden 4 special edition on xbox 360!

they sold me it "new" with the cd's in paper sleeves, took the cd's out put them in the case and put a seal sticker on it...

    i miss funcoland... R.I.P. 1990's

  • this is why i shop at book and music exchange. pluis the one that located nearby my house is run by people i know. they dont screw people outof their money like that. plus i think the late great silent rob (before he went crazy) bitched about gamestop doing this to good consumers like you.

  • You are def not alone. This happened to me and I got my money back immediately. They said they had a new copy and when I went in, it was not new. If it's not in the factory seal, it's not new. They don't think that way, though.

Hope you got your money back.

  • Wow I'm a kid and I knew nothing about the nintendo rewards thing and a grown man knows all about it... =[

  • @Palonenetworking Looks like your slacking kid.. Could have gotten a bunch of free stuff by now.

  • that happened when i bought super smash bros brawl only that was used and i couldnt play it!

  • @TheTrueSonic18 Do they check the games when they are traded in? I have never traded a game in before.

  • @OldSkoolBrian yep most of the time they do but sometimes you get a lazy employee that just checks to see if the correct game is there

  • @OldSkoolBrian Not really. At least my gamestop in Connecticut doesn't. Also I bought a few new games from gamestop for the ps3, Bayonetta, Resonance of Fate, and a few others. There were in great condition and contained the content that comes with the case.

  • @OldSkoolBrian Yes. I brought a game in today to put credits on my account and they open the cases, take the disk out, and check them out.

  • Comment removed

  • yea it happened with call of duty

  • i hate how i call them about something and they say "no, we don't have it used" so i go in there with the money for it new and look on the shelf and there was a fucking used copy....wtf!

  • I only got 17.50 for my bf3 which they sell used 45.00

  • LOL! I got a brand new game for 25$. It was completely brand new. So I decided I'm just going to sell it to Gamestop. They wanted to give me 1$ for it! WTH!

  • @PolarCard This happend to me about 6 years ago when I was trying to sell F-Zero GX for the gamecube cause my mother accidently got another one. ( She was tired from the chirstmas shopping). So a few days after christmas I bring the "New" F-Zero to gamestop and asked how much can I get for this the guy smiled at me and said 3 bucks. Me and my mom lol'd and left.

  • what i love about this vid ....he's not obnoctious and just whining like other people do bout shit!! cuz its lugit!!! hey that rhymes

  • I bought a brand new Battlefield 2 for 360. I opened it up, and it wouldn't load. I looked at the disc, and you could tell that they had run it through a resurfacer.

If you get a game returned to you, buff it out and try to get it sold, sure. However, if you take a used game, buff it out and resell it as new that's just fucking fraud. I buy new games because I don't want to deal with that crap. Thanks, Gamestop.

  • dude they do that all the poeple lets say okami for the Wii it was used but they just had fucking a new sticker that says it new but it is not and the case was fucked up to hell I told it was used but no they kept saying it was new I just left I bought me a disc clear aka disc dictor to fix all my all fucked up games I get from those gease slimballs

  • i got a ''so called'' brand new wii for $300 and all i found in the box is a bunch of gravel

  • i remember years ago i was sold a "NEW" copy of 'devil may cry 3: special edition' with a normal 'devil may cry 3: dante's awakening' disk inside it..... by gamestop......

  • I've had similar experiences it sucks I try not to shop at gamestop

  • Happened to me with a 30 dollar "NEW" game they wanted to buy it back for 7 dollars end of story I told the guy if u don't give me a full refund u lost a customer and lots more with who I'm gonna tell about this experience u gotta know how to get inside their head lol

  • THATS WHY I OPEN GAMES IN THE CAR !!!! USED OR NEW

  • I never buy their gutted games (display games). I only buy their seal games.

  • Amazon FTW!!!

  • i dont buy games from games stop but you can mod your wii to play games off a external usb harddrive or sd card if your interested look up letter bomb wii mod on youtube that should help you out

  • @kc88kc banner bomb!

  • @DaGleese banner bomb i have heard of it never used it i use letter bomb its simple and works on the newest dash board

  • maybe you just got a crap employee

  • @cotyslick I agree. Like I said in a previous comment, I live up to my mistakes if I make them. I take my time even if it is very busy. To make sure my job is being done right. I hate ignorant employees that give gamestop a bad name

  • @skarface13579 but i also got mw3 great condition on amazon for 35 instead of 55 used ;) but yea i like gamestop when they arent stupid employees there. and i go to a privately owned used game store for my used games, they dont buy the games unless they are in almost perfect shape and the case is also in great shape

  • They also gut game cases so that they can be placed on the shelves to say that we have it in stock. we will just put the gut (Disk) In the case once you bring it up to us, unless we already have a sealed case in the drawers. Same with pre-owned.

  • Hey man. I work at gamestop. If it is like my gamestop, It can get crazy behind the counter. So it was probably misplaced and taken as a new copy rather than a used. First off, they should have taken it out of the sleeve and put it directly in the case. If it was returned as used, it should have been sent to defective. The tab sticker is just to say it is new. once the seal is broken, we know it will be sold back as a used game. On behalf of them, I apologize. I hope your next time is better :)

  • if i were you i would go to game stop and damand a refound i wont leve till it hapens

  • nice vid but i have a worse ding that happend i byed md2 and go nothing in it

  • I'd rather buy games from walmart than gamestop. And I fucking hate walmart.

  • HA, yeah i got Animal Crossing City Folk for Christmas, "New" (notice the quotes) put it in my Wii.

BOOM "the disc could not be read." WTH?!

  • Game is way better! :D

  • As a current GameStop employee, I can honestly tell you that the only reason an employee should have sold you a gutted (opened) copy of a game is if it was the last--or perhaps even second to last, if it is a popular game--copy. That's company policy.

As a gutted new game, however, management is infinity more lenient, and should be more than willing to either shopworn discount the game (up to 15% off) or even get you a full refund in the form of original payment.

  • I wanted to trade in my Playstation 2, with 18 of the best games you could possibly get with a playstation, and they told me 20 bucks, i just walked out with my playstation and games without saying a word. Now i call that bullshit.

  • This has never happened to me before. Mostly because I get half of my games from Target or BestBuy and then usually my dad is with me so he would notice.

  • Lol i can't return games to game stop anymore cause i used the same 60$ for 9 months straight. on any used game there is a 7 day return policy in which you can exchange your game if it didn't work or you didn't like it. so every 7 days for 9 months i would get either a game i had already played or one that had just came out. Then before i returned them i would keep the book that came with it as a trophey.

    fuck gamestop

  • Former Gamestop employees report that the employees can often take the games home and play them and they can still sell it new.

I bought Arkham Asylum for ps3 recently as new. There was no wrapping on the case, but I bought it anyway. The disc appeared to be in new condition to me. So I don't have a problem with it. I remember asking the guy why it was previously opened, and he gave me some excuse which I don't remember. I just remember it didn't make sense.

  • same thing has happened to me but with Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

  • they ripped me off too!

  • I srsly got mad watching this video.. -___- damn gamestop!

  • I hate when they continually ask you if you want to sign up for platinum power up rewards cards. I signed up for the basic power up card so they would stop asking me if I wanted one.

  • I MISS FUNCOLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @WisconsinParkour Is that what was in every GameStop location before Gamestop? I thought that was just in my town!

  • Welcome to gamestop, They have been doing it literally years.

  • i like gamestop, but i have been ripped off before similar to this. I bought call of duty world at war, it wasn't sealed, it said it was new and it came in a used case. I asked why and they said that they get a bunch of cases and they want to get rid of them. There was nothing but the disc inside which came out of a sleeve from their drawers, and it was OK condition. But i took it back an hour later, good thing it wasn't sealed cause i got a full refund.

  • Never had a problem with Gamestop, whether it be with preorders, buying a new/used game or with customer support. Every shop is different, but if you had a problem like this I suggest taking it up with them first and if they don't address it, don't even bother with them.

  • No matter what people say Gamestop is the best place to buy n trade games. Theres no where else that better, pawn shops r worse.

  • Hmm.. I bought a 'New' Gameshark for the Gameboy Advance like 5-6 years? Not sure on the time, but it had a piece of paper in it that had codes written down from somebody. It was sealed and had someones hand writing on a notebook piece of paper. I didn't care though.. I wanted to play around with my new product. It worked.

  • The game is technically new, but they use the actual games for displays as well. So they open up copies and take the disc out and put the case on the wall. So when you pick up the last copy they go to grab the disc. You get thumbprints from it being handled

  • @1985jhoward No, its not technically new. It's Technically used. The srink wrap was removed and the case opened. It is therefore used. No matter what twist you put on it. And how exactly do you know it was only a display? (The way this story goes it certainly seems its not since he didn't see the game put in the case and they sticker put on it.) It could of been just as easily a used game that was in good enough shape to pass off as new to some smuck. I have no doubt that's the case here.

  • @Formula21DI I know because I used to work for the company and thats how we did it. Get the games in and open one of them up remove the disc and put it away in a sleeve till someone buys the last copy. We never put a new sticker on a new game sleeve and all new games were in white sleeves and used in yellow. Im quite sure you got their last copy of the game that they made a display of. Plus if you didn't like the way it came you didn't have to buy it there.

  • @1985jhoward That means absolutely nothing, all it means is that is how your store and your manager ran things, it is a very well known fact various gamestop stores pass good condition used games off as new this exact way.

  • @Formula21DI I have never heard of that before because loaning new or used games out would be against company policy. Legally I don't think gamestop could sell a used game as new game, if they do you should be calling corporate and complaining about the store.

Also one final point. Does test driving a brand new car make it used?

  • @1985jhoward Its also a ewll known fact that in various gamestops employees are allowed to borrow a new game that was removed from display for a night or whatever, making them still used product.

  • Ive had the same problems with gamestop too. but a good thing about gamestop is that they will fix a lot of problems ive had. I do like gamestop, but I always have to be cautious with them

  • @PleaseDontKnife I did an update video where they exchanged the game with no questions asked.

  • It happened to me. Alot. I bought used games..

  • @Mordecai1089 You don't know... But it's a fact and thats why there are ton of comments from Gamestop customers as well as people who work at Gamestop who say this goes on.. Which Gamestop do you work at?

  • or an employee could have taken the game home and played it and actually scratched it themselves. at most stores the employees are allowed to take the games home and play them if they want, even new copies. the manager at the gamestop i work at doesn't allow that though because it's wrong, for obvious reasons.

  • That was probably the last copy that they had in stock in which case the game case is displayed on the floor with the disc kept in a sleeve behind the counter. this means:

    1. Sometimes if the game is in the drawer for a long time the sleeve with actually create patches of rubbing scratches from being squeezed between other games for so long and moving around.

and 2. the case being displayed on the floor means that people can open the case and take the inserts out, unfortunately.

  • @icannotread I understand that.. But don't yu think it would be a good idea to remove the inserts and put them with the game... Even though I think it's a used copy when it's opened everyone has to agree that when the inserts are missing it definatly should not be sold as new.

  • @OldSkoolBrian i actually have wondered why we don't put the club nintendo inserts in with the game. i imagine that eventually they'd take up too much space (we hardly have room for the games we stock) and we don't have anything to safely store extra inserts in either. i always make sure to take any redeemable codes out of the case before i put a new game case on the floor, but i hardly handle the gutting and such of new games.

  • @OldSkoolBrian Gamestop only requires the removal of included DLC and online codes provided by EA, THQ, and the like. you're acting like it's the employees who do all this bad stuff, it's gamestop. the employees just do what they're told because it's their job and they need money. i'm aware of all the shitty shady stuff that gamestop does. but i need a job. i don't like gamestop's standard for "new", so i shop elsewhere for actual new games at usually lower prices.. you can too.

  • @icannotread If I come accross as blaming the employees it was not my intention.. I know it's what "Gamestop" expects and that the people that work there are just doing there jobs.

  • recently bought gta iv complete edition from game stop. game stop employee said the game was new even though it wasn't factory sealed.game stop likes to trick people with their shitty deals. personally i will not be buying shit from them ever again.

  • I can not see any scratches on the cd from the video. However, 2 things.

    A) Often times we gut the cases, put them behind the counter and put the cases out on the floor.

    B) If you came (or went) back into GS, you could have gone to the register, showed them this, and I guarantee you they would switch it out with an unopened, unsealed copy.

  • @Sanvorae I did an update video in which I say I went back with the game and it was exchange with no questions asked.

  • @OldSkoolBrian That's good to hear man. If they didn't, that would have been truly shitty.

  • kirby's epic yarn in a sleeve that says new seems legit

  • Same thing happened to me with Battlefield 3 when I bought it on release day, only the whole plastic was still intact. Got home, looked at the disk, and there was scratches from top to bottom and sideways and any direction you could think about on the disk. Took it back to Gamestop, but they say that after I open the package it's not their problem. Never went back since then, and I stayed with Wal-Mart and Amazon for my games.

  • Make sure to not receive a "new" game that doesn't look new, mostly your fault for accepting it as it was.

  • @Giroutte As I have explained I did not think I needed to check the game.. I did not think that it was acceptable to sell used games as new at gamestop.

  • That's what happened when you buy Wii games.

  • yes this happens to me countless times

  • oh thats becuz gamestop employes can test out the games so they can know about the game i know this becuz my friend works there he told me so next time you might wanna ask if some employe played the game to test it

  • My friend wanted to turn in a $60 game in the packaging for $60 to gamestop, They said to come back after taking off the wrapping just so they won't have to pay the full price for the mint packaged game, They wanted to give him like $30 for it the next day. I also got Halo ODST and Halo 3, both disks, For $10...They probably made a profit, So some poor gamer traded in ODST for under $10

  • ONLY IN AMERICA! eb games in canada is some good stuff. probably cause i go there like 3 times a week aha.

btw, i like you gamecube collection! haha

  • @TheTdwpforever LOL.. Thanks

  • @OldSkoolBrian same thong happend to me in 06 when the guy sold me ace combat for psp and told me it was new

  • @TheTdwpforever i agree the one in my area went out of buisness, they were the only ones that would clean your disc :(

  • @UncarriedWarriors i think it really depends how often you go to the eb games. like all of the ones i go to legit EVERYONE knows me. even the people at future shop knows me. i sound like a nerd but whatever.

  • @TheTdwpforever not true, ebgames canada tried to pull the same stunt on me last month with MW3. I refused and went elsewhere.

  • @Oakshan29 really? hmm maybe i was wrong actually. cause i just remembered on boxing day i went to buy saints row 3 for 29.99 and i used a 50 and he only game me like 14 dollars change thinking i gave him a 20. i just waited until i got my money.
