sloppy? this is an old recording, during his time im sure he is the only one can play this.. even Maestro Segovia don't want to play his music because he can't handle Barrios' skills lol

@albenizski ....spot on with this comment. I think even Segovia,,who I love, dismissed Barrios as a second rate composer. We must say thank you Alirio for introducing us to the then little known Barrios.

@albenizski This sounds like an urban legend of some short. Segovia himself said that he asked Barrios for a copy of "La Catedral" so as to play it in a concert but he never received one. Now, why would one chose to believe one version of the truth over the other? Is it because it sounds better? Does it provoke one to degrade a well established idol like A.Segovia? I'm only asking because a lot of people make a habit of doing such things.

@alvalguitar not it is not tuned to Eb genius, the recording made it sound as if it was tuned down, but it was the recording

@kt88101b this is what pisses me off cause this is the way he wrote this, this is how Barrios Played it this is how he wanted it to be. An now that everyone has heard other peoples versions Williams an others play this song they think its wrong or rushed. im sorry but this is the truth an the hard thing about classical music alot of these songs are wrote out in times before recording an the only way we have to play them is a general idea of how fast or slow they should be played.

Estoy absolutamente seguro que escuchar una interpretación del Maestro Agustín Barrios marca un antes y un después en la vida de cualquier guitarrísta del planeta, y me atrevo a decir que es algo obligatorio para la correcta preparación de ellos!!! @xXxGoyexXx busca por internet, en los blogs y demas que estan todas sus grabaciones en un compilado de 3 CDs, de ahi saque esta grabacion. la imagen del video es la de este compilado q te digo, no tiene desperdicio. saludos!

@pacupa lo mismo pensé!! de hecho la primera vez que lo escuché me chocó un poco porque estaba acostumbrado a otras versiones... luego me acostumbré y me parece espectacular el nivel técnico del maestro Barrios!!. De hecho la interpretación suena tan natural que a veces se escuchan ciertos errores muy mínimos (en tiempos que grabar de nuevo era súper complicado) que por supuesto no empañan en nada y que hacen que el tema suene más emotivo y majestuoso
