I know you wana spread the msg of Islam but u should keep in mind dat islam prohibits the use of wrong means for achieving right Goals. so plz leave music forever.
@xGuardianangel. Man! This is the reason why Islam gets maligned. Puritanical ideas, no respect for talent and Allah's gifts in humans used for good cause! I would say its jealousy on people's part who malign Allah's gifts in humans!

I believe that if it doesn't lead me away from Allah, it's alright to listen to whatever as long as it's not something disturbing.
As brother 'manofislam20' said, don't look at music by it's outer appearance, you can use anything to lead people to the straight path or the evil path.
So as long as it doesnt lead you away from Allah, carry on listening, if otherwise it is leading you away from Allah, that would be the Shaytan luring you towards evil, as usual.
The music is a way of expresing your self, your openions, beliefs. so dont look at music by its outer apearance. You can use anything to lead people to the right path & to the evil path. Just judge this Song by its messege and where it leads You.
Dawud Wharnsby , Zain Bakhi, Yusuf islam ... just to name a few, are the kind of moslims we need more than ever before. Their music has so much meaning and reaches out to non-moslims audiences as well. They use their art to preach and propagate Islam in the most beautiful and peaceful way. They are true "Da3iyat" May allah bless them and reward them in the herafter for serving the Islamic faith.
There is nothing more inspiring and spiritual to me than music (including instruments). It brings me closer to GOD. Of course, music , like anything else, can be used for immoral purposes but that's not the case here. I urge Moslims to be more rationnal, open minded ,use their brains and put things in perspective by looking at the deeper ulimate goals of the Shari3a and not rambling into these minor little things.
In my opinion, the reason Music is frowned upon in Islam is because traditionally the music was associated with prostitution, alcohol and erotism in pre-islamic societies. I am a Muslim and my interpretation of the hadiths is rationnal and seen in it's historical context. Besides, whoever said that entertainment is forbidden in Islam ? !!!! Plz Islam was meant to be beautiful and YES it should also be fun. don't make islam sound like a burden.
There are no hadiths with strong line that out right declare certain instruments haraam. When the Prophet talks about them he is fairly indirect. Now most of the Ulema agree than certain instruments are haraam but there are different opinions that we should respect. Imam al Ghazali for instance believed if the music met certain criteria you could use stringed instruments.

We will look at music just as the Prophet (S) and his companions (RA) looked at music! It takes one away from the obligatory actions in Islam and it wastes precious time and numbs the intellect. Music is a tool of shaytan to lure people away from the texts of Islam where people begin to make their own methods as they go along instead of going back to the established sources of legislation.
But here wat I c is d outcome of dis act by Dawud Wharnsby..hez gotta msg in his song though therz music which is d only problm..!!he found dat only means of conveyin his msg s thru this which ppl use most..And in Islam basically overindulgence of anything 4 tht matter of fact is prohibited...but A Strong message been passed shuld be applauded but if it is simply a kinda entertainment sorta thing then im against!!

does that hadith say Musical Instruments ARE HARARM ? is that word there ?
anyway about this hadith :Although this hadith is in Sahih Al-Bukhari, its chain of transmission is not connected to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and this invalidates its authenticity. Ibn Hazm rejects it for that very reason. Moreover, the sub-narrator, Hisham Ibn `Ammar is declared 'weak' by many scholars of the Science of Hadith Methodology.
And saheeh hadith are not divine hadith. One of the biggest disagreements sunnis have with shia is the "divine nature of their hadith" which they claim was narrated through "infallibles". When we act like our hadith are perfect, what is the difference ?
Musical Instruements are a matter of "figqh" (understanding) and not Fitrah (endowment towards Allah )
"And of mankind he who purchases idle talks to mislead (people) from the Path of Allaah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allaah) by way of mockery, For such there will be a humiliating torment." [Quran-31:6]
I read fatwahs by Sheik Bin Baz and Sheikh Al-Albanee (both who are have passed away not) on a regular basis. I respect your opinion. But i am not going to start tell you mine here :).
our prophet muhammed(pbuh)said it's harram so whatever he says or does is accordance with Allah(swt) so wheather or not its in the quran our prophet said that it was prohibited SO THATS THE BOTTOM LINE if your a proper muslim who believes that he was the last prophet of allah
Many hadith contradict themselves on this matter. Thus as muslim we should be very careful. Islam is unlike any other religion cus it proves its point. It is the religion of reason.
The only hadith in Saheed Bukharee which is about musical insturments doesn't say it is hararm (you have to take the opposite meaning) and it's contents are confusing.
"Say, "Who prohibited the nice things God has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?" Say," such provisions are to be enjoyed in THIS life by those who BELIEVE. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of resurrection." We thus explain the revelations for people who know." 7:32 (QURAN)
I read that Khaled ibn Waled (RA) and Umar (RA) used to differ over the use of alcohol. Khaled In Waled (RA) used it to relieve the pains of his body (I need to verify the story ) and Umar (RA) did not like him doing that. Again who is to say who is right ? taking into account both are sahabahs and both are hardened warriors and both have fought for Islam ?
Music is debated and can be divided into many parts. Many issues are their which are debated such as the use of instruments, the type of instruments, the type of songs, the issue of females singing, the nature of the words etc etc...
While I believe the Musical Industry as a whol leads to hararm, I have not been able to convince myself Musical Instruments are hararm even after staying up nights just to research.
I agree that the music you mention is absolutely haram by the consensus of the scholars, but please don't say the quran explicitly says something when it doesnt. Again, I agree with you, but don't use lies as evidence.
I agree that the music you mention is absolutely haram by the consensus of the scholars, but please don't say the quran explicitly says something when it doesnt. Again, I agree with you, but don't use lies as evidence.
However one cannot use this as the basis for to "prove " Music is hararm. Then anybody can say everything from sleeping, to food, to sex!!!!!!!!! is hararm.
Islam however is a beliefs that places "BOUNDARIES" (not limits like many people say).
As along as we follow the boundaries of our Rabb we shall never go wrong inshallah.
@engin88r the word used in that ayat (verse) is 'lahwa alhadith' or 'lahwal hadith' (I am not sure if I am pronouncing right)....but the literal translation for that is ''idle talk''. Some translations like Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan add the word ''musical instruments'' in the brackets as well, but some translations dont. I think there are different interpretations. But I remember a 'Sahih Bukhari' hadith that mentions that music is unlawful (7/5590) O.P.494B.........i hope this helps!
"Say, "Who prohibited the nice things God has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?" Say," such provisions are to be enjoyed in THIS life by those who BELIEVE. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of resurrection." We thus explain the revelations for people who know." 7:32 (QURAN)
it is not all the instruments, it only if the thing using wire of string and by using our mouth , like flute. else.. is the instrument using halal animal's skin is not haram..... but actually everything that is negligent is haram... but i'm sorry if someone hurt on my word,, i'm really sorry, i'm not blaming anyone... but if i'm wrong tell me...
so, eventually i think you, yourself decide whether it is ok. the arguments are there from both camps/school of thoughts. but all must agree that we all do not spend enough time learning about islam, the qur'an and hadith etc. and music may cause us to do less of these - my two cents
but one must agree that music was never used for da'wa during the prophet's time. that has never been the way to spread islam. they spread islam through speaking, interacting, discussing etc. so, even though i personally think that music can motivate a person to want to follow islam, one MAY become dependent on it. and there are other negative effects of it too.
the other side says that wind and stringed instruments are not ok. even percussions are limited to small ones. but they do say that human voice is ok. try looking at yusuf estes's argument on music. it is found on youtube. he quotes(and critices) yusuf qardhawi there too.
actually, there are two views about musical instruments in islam. the ones that allow it uses hadith that can be taken to mean that music is ok in certain contexts. imam ghazali, yusuf qardhawi, hakim murad, yusuf islam etc, is of the opinion that it is ok. they say that the message should not be bad/immoral etc.
i dont understand how nasheed can b wrong if it has music ..it is speakin of islam spreadin gd word..i am not sure..plz 4give me if i am wrong and correct and inform me..
i will jsut post some hadeeth and say what ever u want ..
Brothers/sisters slaam. The prophet used to teach the quran to the shabah, each ayah is very deep and requires alot of dedication and time to understand it, one sentance requires a lengthy interpretation, we must try and stay away from interpreting the quran on face value
Very sad to see all these Muslims clapping and listening to this musician.
"In my ummah there will be people who will try to allow (make halal) fornication/adultery (zina), silk, wine and musical instruments [ma'aazif]. They will remain haraam until the Day of Resurrection."
(Reported by Imam al-Bukhaari)
^^Just 1 of countless haddith and Qu'ran indications that music is haraam.
no.. thats not right.. during the prophet's arrival to medina, all the muslim gathering and welcomed prophet by playing drum also considered as playing music and sing for prophet.. and during wedding, the prophet does not have any objection by playng music.. u can play music but must have the limits..
It's amazing! YouTube if full of commenting mufti's! If you want to know what's haram and what's not just read what the DIY mullah's have got to say right here! Correct yourself before you set out to "correct" others. Unless YOU know, with references to everything you have to say about the legality of music (or any other issue), just keep out of the debate! If you don't like the use of music out of your own preference, then fine; but don't make claims that you cannot substantiate.
dis si haram hes usign a gutiter. and i noe dis cuz my dads a maulana. and he told any nasheeds wid music backround is haram and it uses allahs name for a rythm is haram.and u kant listen 2 nasheeds for da sound u cld onlii listen 2 nasheeds dat teach u sumthinmg....
just cauz you say, your dad's some unknown maulana , we're supposed to believe you? first off, you could be lying for all we know. and second, what does the opinion of one so called 'maulana' matter. why don't you just shutup
don be too fanatic.. music is nothing... well when it is ur wedding ceremony, u expect ur ceremony like the funeral??? hahaha... i am muslim and i love to hear music with any genres....
THIS ACCTUALLY WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1.)say the name of the boy/girl u like 2 times 2.)now say the name of your bestfriend 5 times to yourself 3.)now post this on 5 videos and press f8 ur crushes name will appear on the screen!!!!
Slm. Imam Ghazali (RA) said, as long as the music you listen to, makes you want to do haram things, its forbidden. But if you just listen to the music to have a neutral / good feeling, or if it even encourages you to do good deeds, it's halal.
So in the case of this nasheeds, as they encourage us to strave on the path of our religion, how should it be haram? :D
The way i see it, since he's using the guitar to do good deeds, it should be fine. Unless there are proofs from the Quran or Hadith which states clearly that it's not allowed. Since i have not done my research, i'd be glad if anyone could quote smth on music from Quran or Hadiths. InsyaAllah, we will be enlightened.
like what my brother ahmed4allah post .. prophet mohammed says its not allowed .. and u are saying its allowed ! tell me or give me any hadeeth that says that its allowed (( just give me hadeeth ))
during the arrival of the prophet, all the muslim gethering and welcomed him by playing drums, tambourine and sang to prophet muhammad.. even in the wedding, the prophet does not say anything about music eventhough they enjoying themselve wif the music.. plz don be too fanatic.. just make it the simple life.. we hear the music to relieve our stress and enjoy wif our family and frenz.. i do hear all types of music but i didn't go to pub at all...
yes u just said it urself, dey played drums, tamborine and sang, but in dis so called nasheed der is also a haram instrument called a GUITAR. SO IT IS HARAM 4 US TO HEAR. jazakumallah khair to ahmad4allha 4 pointing dat out
astagfirullah!! what makes the different? all is the same.. u can play wif any instrument as u like... guitar have not been invented during prophet time and also not one of the arab instrument... u can play any instrument to play nasheed.. it is no mistake.. we mus think logically..
The guitar appears to be derived from earlier instruments known in ancient India and Central Asia. i learn the history.. whatever it is.. it still just music instrument and is not probihited at all..
DAWAUD ali is a legend! Anyone know where i can download these nasheeds - cant afford to buy ALL the CDs!! Allah will reward them - he has much wealth which he loves giving to his obedient servants! We should pray for punishment - in that way (at least me) i never forget my creator - get me??!!
Significant lyrics! First time to learn about Dawud, he is really great with a passionate spirit! Very good work! the sound volume was too low!! I wonder was it my tech. problem!
the1andonlyy howss ur ifee?? is it a boy or a girl?? omar hassanalii wat kind of kid is it? i bet itll look just like uu wid da facial hair attached to its face naturally
brother Dawud pleeeeeez come to the path of Allah. You are praising Prophet (pbuh) with the thing he Hates????? Brother i love the nasheeds sung by you dat include halal music only. I think he is highly knowledgeable in what he does.

our prophet muhammed(pbuh)said it's harram so whatever he says or does is accordance with Allah(swt) so wheather or not its in the quran our prophet said that it was prohibited SO THATS THE BOTTOM LINE if your a proper muslim who believes that he was the last prophet of allah

Again I came accross something else recently.

Assalamu allaikum
everything is Islam is debated.

Music is the flute of shaitan and although the guitar wasnt invented at that time it is said(in the quran)stringed instuments are haram..
xGuardianAngel 4 years ago
I agree that the music you mention is absolutely haram by the consensus of the scholars, but please don't say the quran explicitly says something when it doesnt. Again, I agree with you, but don't use lies as evidence.

From what I've seen, music is not haram. Music that refers to inappropriate things IS haram however.
Hope that helps.
massivepwn 4 years ago
However one cannot use this as the basis for to "prove " Music is hararm. Then anybody can say everything from sleeping, to food, to sex!!!!!!!!! is hararm.
Islam however is a beliefs that places "BOUNDARIES" (not limits like many people say).
As along as we follow the boundaries of our Rabb we shall never go wrong inshallah.

@zaentemp Plz have a look for the translation of ayat number 6 from Sorat # 31 "Loggman" May Allah guide you and me.
engin88r 1 year ago
@engin88r the word used in that ayat (verse) is 'lahwa alhadith' or 'lahwal hadith' (I am not sure if I am pronouncing right)....but the literal translation for that is ''idle talk''. Some translations like Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan add the word ''musical instruments'' in the brackets as well, but some translations dont. I think there are different interpretations. But I remember a 'Sahih Bukhari' hadith that mentions that music is unlawful (7/5590) O.P.494B.........i hope this helps!

The Qur'an says the opposite:
"Say, "Who prohibited the nice things God has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?" Say," such provisions are to be enjoyed in THIS life by those who BELIEVE. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of resurrection." We thus explain the revelations for people who know." 7:32 (QURAN)

Get your fact straights dude
It is very ironic.
If the Quran states Music is hararm please show me where. If you are right I will stop listening to it asap.
At the same time, please don't show the injuction again poets in the Quran and use it as evidence again "music.
Peace

it is not all the instruments, it only if the thing using wire of string and by using our mouth , like flute. else.. is the instrument using halal animal's skin is not haram..... but actually everything that is negligent is haram... but i'm sorry if someone hurt on my word,, i'm really sorry, i'm not blaming anyone... but if i'm wrong tell me...

so, eventually i think you, yourself decide whether it is ok. the arguments are there from both camps/school of thoughts. but all must agree that we all do not spend enough time learning about islam, the qur'an and hadith etc. and music may cause us to do less of these - my two cents
werrgt 4 years ago
but one must agree that music was never used for da'wa during the prophet's time. that has never been the way to spread islam. they spread islam through speaking, interacting, discussing etc. so, even though i personally think that music can motivate a person to want to follow islam, one MAY become dependent on it. and there are other negative effects of it too.
werrgt 4 years ago
the other side says that wind and stringed instruments are not ok. even percussions are limited to small ones. but they do say that human voice is ok. try looking at yusuf estes's argument on music. it is found on youtube. he quotes(and critices) yusuf qardhawi there too.
werrgt 4 years ago
actually, there are two views about musical instruments in islam. the ones that allow it uses hadith that can be taken to mean that music is ok in certain contexts. imam ghazali, yusuf qardhawi, hakim murad, yusuf islam etc, is of the opinion that it is ok. they say that the message should not be bad/immoral etc.

ثم ذكر ما يكون على بعضهم من المقت و على بعضهم من المسخ و من ذلك الوجه أخرجه البخاري في الصحيح .).
