there are some dumb ppl who think boas and pythons are the same thing. I got 2 baby snakes off C.List the guy said they were boas when i went to get them i was like....these are not boas these are ball pythons and he was like its the same thing and I was like dude....ball pythons get to be about 4ft boas get a weeeee bit bigger then that...i got them anyways but it still sucked b.c I had built this huge room for them

@mlionti Nice snake.....btw, Suriname's and Guyana's are exactly the same snakes.....there's no natural border between the two countries, only a line drawn on a map by man. Therefore these snakes cannot be classed as anything but the same, as nature knows of no such borders. On the saddle point, no two snakes are identical an they all have there own unique patterns.....if this was wild caught from Suriname then it is a Suriname red tail. Fact. Once again, nice snake.

Yes that is a suriname red tail! And shes an absolute beauty. I have almost the identical suriname red tail that I just bought yesterday. His saddle is more peaked but not too much more. Identical colours though. Nice snake bro!

Yes. Just feed meals not larger than the widest girth, Keep them warm and humid and feed about every 10 days and you will be fine. Do NOT rush their growth.

not picky at all, some just need some coaxing to get going... they arent illegal in canada but some cities restrict a snake bigger than 3meters... a male boa wont top that ever and a female would take 6-8 yrs to get that big, if she ever did

very sweet. I'm just getting into boas now. We adopted a 7ft red tail that was confiscated being illegal in the state where he lived. Im not sure on the sex but what I'm learning is that not all redtails are equal as you have displayed with yours. I was wondering if you could look at mine and see if you can determine a specific name for the one I have. I have videos up although the quality isnt as good as yours.

its really hard since they possess many of the same looks... the only way you can be certain is if you go to surinam or guyana and grab a boa yourself! even export practices are not 100% reliable for locale

nice suriname i just got one as well. their colors are amazing especially when you compare them to BCI s. It is funny how all the websites state how aggressive they are b/c mine is extremely docile I do only have experience with one though.

I was going to name her after the sunset because on her tail the top has deep dark red spot and on the side it has pink and purple I cant think of any names but i can wish you luck in her giving you the name that she likes the best

Wow, I'm sorry you have such negative feelings towards me and we've never even met. To start, I live in Canada which is where the pet store that imported the boa does business. Second, the CBB Surinam they sold to me turned out to be a WC only after having the store contact the supplier to verify its lineage. Third, I was told it was female and it turned out to be male only after probing.

Fourth, it had stomach parasites and mites, both of which I've put effort and a fair amount of money into. He's fed, handled and cared for which is as good as it gets for a boa once forced into the pet trade. I hope that you'll not be so quick to jump to conclusions in the future.

you can but its not really recommended. bcc and bci are from different areas of central and south america. they have evolved into different species and have their own traits... you're really just making a mutt if you breed bci to bcc... stick to bci pairs and bcc pairs...
