Even though they made it look like a cheesy musical, maybe Bruce felt a bit sad, since they're playing his past life. Jim Gorden's most likely passed away, and so would any of his old allies that might have shown in the musical so for him it might be like going through a photo albumn of old memories, and not necessairly pleasant ones either.

There are two different Batmen. There is the campy Batman (Adam West, Batman and Robin), and there is the dark and gritty Batman (TDK, Batman Arkham Asylum/City). You don't have to like both of them, but you need to accept that they are both Batman.
