There is no such thing as a Christian police officer, just as there can be no Christian Freemason. A lot of police are masons. A police officer is a servant of the Crown and the STATE. 1. The Pope is not representative of 'Christianity', but 'Catholicism'. They are actually different religions.
2. He stated that he has conversations with other POLICE OFFICERS - which would be just the same as talking about anything in the workplace. i doubt he's saying he gives sermons to speeding criminals in the back of the police car.......
3. Gay bashing in the street - Bob12310 has already corrected RobNorthampton on this.

It depends what you mean by "gay bashing". It is against the law to incite hatred against gays and stir up public disorder, but it is not against the law to express the belief that homosexuality is sinful.
The "gay hate" law has a free speech clause that allows people to express religious objections to homosexuality.
I thought policemen were supposed to be impartial. I think it's disgraceful that his superiors allow him to go god-bothering people while he's in uniform.
So what happens if he encounters a gay-bashing in the street? Does he join in?
And what if he had to police a muslim neighbourhood? Would he go round telling them the error of their ways, and that his god's better than their god?
@RobNorthampton no becausse christians believe that we should love our neighbour no matter who they are. Irrespective of race, sexuality or religious belief. plus if you actually listened.....he talks to his colleagues about his faith not the public
