  • I really want to embed this video in my paper on narratology for an English class. Would you be willing to enable embedding? Thanks!

  • @justcogitating I'm using an older browser.. so the "embed" option gave me trouble.. but I "think" that it's now enabled. Give it a try!

  • @rodanvideo Awesome, thanks!

  • I wish there were more videios of "George Burns And Gracies Allen" on YouTube.

    Thanks very much. I love em.

  • So Slick,

    Thankyou for this clip.

  • Can you repost without the floating comments? They get in the way of Gracie's humor and make it all about YOU and not Gracie.

  • @mitchellivers

    It's ONE comment and only 5 seconds long. It is part of my videoclip. I cannot easily redo it, so {gulp} - - it must stay. I don't quite see how the few seconds of text makes the entire video about ME, but.. hey, what do I know? ;-}

  • @rodanvideo Probably alot and when you get your own show someone can post a floater on you.-Gracie

    I'm a HUGE Gracie-fan and find it rare and unusual for her to flub a line, so I pointed it out with respect and admiration. This episode was performed LIVE, not edited on film like the later episodes. Mistakes happen.. and there are no do-overs. The pressure must have been enormous, especially considering that Gracie's lines didn't always make sense. In an interview, she said that memorizing her lines was a nightmare, since one "thought" didn't follow the next.

  • In September 1951, Bill Goodwin left George & Gracie (after being their announcer on radio and TV for 10 years} to star in his own NBC-TV daytime series [it ended after one season]. George decided to let the viewers in on WHY Harry Von Zell was now the show's announcer (and spokesman for the sponsor's product)- he stayed with George & Gracie for the next seven years, and George's continuation of the show without Gracie in 1958-'59.

  • great classic bits...
