The web will be eaten every morning when they go find a place to sleep the day away. So for those that destroy a spiders web, you are taking away a lot of nutrients and supplies they will need for the next nights web.
The strongest spider web I know of is a Black Widows web. It is unmistakable when you run your arm into one which I have far too often. Tough and strong.
The worst part is they come in browns now. Not all black Widows are black. What may look like the common house spider, the good guys, could be the ones you never want around your home.
According to National Geographic magazine, spiders' web silk is so strong that a strand the thickness of a pencil would be able to stop a Jumbo jet in flight. That is an amazing fact, but what is even more mind boggling is how strong a spider's nipsy must be to crimp the stuff off.
i was wondering all week on how the spiders could reach far and impossibly far spots to build their web around. so now i get it, they wait for the wind to do it for them. BRILLIANT!
Thanks for this amazing documentary about spiders. It's mazing. I got interested in them after closely watching one of them in my backyard. I started to believe that they are highly intelligent little "artists"
