A long time ago,until they did see in in a light bulb,they did not really see electricity as a light source,until they did discover laser they did not believe that light could be that powerful...What cannot be measured by scientists now does not mean it does not exist..point...The Chi,you bet it exists.
@diplomatperson1 The question is not if it exists. The question is what it is.

There are allot of things science does not know. And most you learn in school is false. We, for instance, don't really know how eyes work exactly.
@mightyflamelord You call the western world ignorant pricks because they don't believe in something that has no evidence?
Show me proof that these powers exist. If you ignore me, or show me "proof" that isn't real proof, or if you deny responsibility in proving such things, either way, these powers will not be proven to exist, because they don't. There are thousands of different tests you could do to prove such powers exist, but no one wants to. Why? Because they know it's bullshit.
Unfortunately, not everything can be proved scientifically. I can definitely say that you have no knowledge in Chinese martial arts, therefore it would be a waste of time explaining you. Why was the Chinese empires more advanced than you western ones before the Qing dynasty? because we know things that you dont.
No experts would waste their time on western trash, and that is why most of them are never exposed to the public, gl getting ur chance failure.
@mightyflamelord Not everything can be proved scientifically? Maybe not, but this is one thing that can. You can easily devise tests that can prove that these people can't do what they say they can do. Or do their powers suddenly vanish when you try to test them? Get real.
I have knowledge of Chinese martial arts. So because I don't believe there's a magical force in Chinese people called chi, that means I don't know ANYTHING about Chinese martial arts?
@mightyflamelord Why was Chinese empires more advanced? Because "we" know things you don't? So you're a living person from the Qing dynasty?
What the fuck do you know that I don't? That chi exists? Fucking prove it. Don't claim to have knowledge of things that you refuse to, or CAN'T prove. Just saying that indicates you're a liar.
I can fly. Don't believe me? Well I won't prove it. Why? Because it can't be proven scientifically, therefore you're supposed to just believe me with no evidence.
everything has a clear scientific explanation? No, if there was an explanation on how to avoid financial crisis, then why would we be suffering the first place?
And i dont know why your brain is fked up, your dumb ass explanation on heat made me laugh.
@diplomatperson1 There are easy ways to test if chi exists. But no one wants to put their supposed chi power to the test, because they know it doesn't exist.
You sound like a stupid religious person when you indiscriminately attack scientists like that. Until they see things, they're not ignorant. They don't just blindly believe something exists until it's been proven to exist. There are theories that some things COULD exist, but haven't been observed, but chi has no such theory.
@mightyflamelord So because America has financial problems, that means all science is bullshit?
How is science tied to financial shit? That's economics, not science. You don't even know the disciplines involved, yet you think you can criticize them?
Anyone who blindly criticizes science, like you, is just a stupid fucking nigger who doesn't have the education to know fact from fiction. Keep believing in this stupid shit that has no proof, you fucking moron. Prove it, or shut the fuck up.
If what you said, science is the absolute God in this world, then why havent anyone predicted your financial Crisis? And why arent any stochiotric calculus ppl got any better than Waren Buffets at stock marketing???
Simply because "science" cannot help you....
In the same, "Qi" took me a while to figure out by myself...and it really works. However, if you really want to be a hardass and prove it, then good luck because it has already been UNIVERSALLY acknowledged
@mightyflamelord What does science have to do with the financial crisis? Explain, you god damn moron.
"Qi" doesn't exist, you stupid kid. Prove it does. You can't.
It's been universally acknowledged? Please. Stop your lies. No one believes you, so just stop. No one accepts that bullshit. You're full of shit. Prove it, nigger.
Lol white kid, you are just one of the retards wasting resources in the States, which is really sad for your country.
And dont swear over the Internet, its sad because you dont have the GUTS to say it to someone in real life. Gl living after saying it to a black man smallfry.
@mightyflamelord What proves I don't have an education? I know a lot about science and all academic studies. You have knowledge of what? Qi? Something that doesn't fucking exist?
Qi could easily be proven if it existed, but no one wants to prove it, because they know it doesn't exist.
Your ancestors figured out gravitational forces? How did they "figure out" gravitational forces? Do you even know what Newton did?
Here you see two facts later on being "Proved" scientifically...
If you think im "lying", then I guess your knowledge is limited in high school(overestimated).
Lastly, there havent been any " universal scientific proves" on QI. However, people have already figured out this theorem, which I can say is that it should be in a matter of time to be proved.
For now, I can say that it exists, not only in China, but in the states because ive seen some black belts performing hard "qigong"
@mightyflamelord Newton and someone else created integral calculus, not the Greeks. You're making shit up.
You don't create calculus by using logic. That makes no sense.
I don't think you're lying about Qi. I know you're lying. It has not been proven and it never will be. It's made up bullshit, just like religion. Stop believing in it like a stupid sheep.
What do you think Qi is? Do you think people can make fireballs out of their hands? What do you think it does?
Yes as i said, newton did get deeply involved with calculus---derivatives&integrals.However, it was the Grecs that first discovered ways to make calculations, similar to the ways shown in integral. If you cannot understand what I wrote, then your comprehension is a fail.
Unfortunately, scientists in China are not interested in proving a fact that exists. And there is nothing to prove, it exists. Especially internal fist masters such as taijiquan masters...
If you wrote what u wrote to any masters, i bet u'll be the laughing sht and ruin your whole western perspective.
If Qi existed, you could prove it. It hasn't been proven because it doesn't exist. Then dumbasses like you give excuses why it can't be proven. Bullshit. It's not real, that's why it can't be proven.
You're wrong. You fail. Shut up. Die gook.
Gooks can't fight, that's why all the UFC champions are non-gooks.
Look, not everything that doesnt have a scientific prove means that it "doesnt exist".
It might be the fact that it is so hard to be proved or that the methods of proving it is still unknown.
On the contrast, in this case, it "doesnt need to be proved", because it is known to many martial arts practitioners.
You have already lost your face on youtube, go flame somewhere else because bring up science doesnt have anything meaningful in supporting your stobborn opinion.
No one hiding in the mountains is a good fighter. To be a good fighter, you have to actually know effective fighting techniques and how to fight against various styles. People hiding in mountains can't do that. They don't have qi, because it doesn't exist. They have worthless fighting styles that can't compete against boxers or wrestlers. And they're not trained to fight, they're trained to dance and act like they know how to fight.
@mightyflamelord Fixed fights? Prove it. It's easy to lie, that's why you do it. It's harder to provide proof, which is why you have NONE for anything you say.
I know more about martial arts than you. You know about fake crap that doesn't work. You learn everything from movies.
They don't have qi. Without qi, you die? Prove it. Again, it's easy to say random shit like that.
okay..your first sentence is just IRRELEVANT. Choreography are extremely useful in martial arts movies...otherwise, there would be countless deaths by now.
in another sense, moves "in" choreographic movies are extremely handful in real life, because they are real and useful...simple as that. Except low quality movies made by your country, the holy States.
ppl can kill u just by touching you? kk YOu are the moron who confuses fictional stuffs with real life, lmfao nice fail.
@mightyflamelord You doubt I'll give you my real life address? Well I KNOW you're not going to spend thousands of dollars on plane tickets for me to go to China. So it's pointless.
As far i am concerned, the more you practice, the stronger you will be in contact and control your qi..
Chinese methodology and ways of thinking are very different from western ones. If you dont want to acknowledge, fine, but there is no way that your bs thoughts and unconstructive worthless jokes will ever prohibit the deeper understanding of Qi.
So far, you are here to disturb the audience in discouraging them that such thing does not exist.
@diplomatperson1 Yeah, sort off... The problems is the nature of such energy: laser and electricity as a form of light might been abstract but they could have a clue since it was something slightly more tengeable and they have to deal with one concept.. Qi is slightly different in concept, as it is the energy behind life itself and what compose this energy... Less poetically, "stuff to stay alive".
"Scientist" will talk about oxygenation, glucose transformation, heartbeat...
@diplomatperson1 isnt it the other way round? didnt they first believe in chi and now its proved that there is no chi? its as if u were saying the bible is true but theres no proof or at least something that would be a logical explanation i mean what makes u believe in chi?
@diplomatperson1 it's a fair point that science isn't infallible, but without evidence, there is little reason to believe. Chi or ki was probably a miscellaneous word used to describe body mechanics that were not fully understood. I've done aiki-jujutsu for three years and I sometimes (not always) encounter aikidoka who tell me I must channel my ki to do a particular throw (etc). But I can do all the throws without any special "ki" energy just by using good body mechanics...just an example
@elenchus There has been many explanations for it. Since the first time you were thrown, you possibly felt a sudden force that got you out of balance before you got airborne. In that case, it is related to that . Body mechanics has a lot of influence in controlling it.
@peposo7 I would disagree with you in degree. Body mechanics is just all there is (outside of the obvious, like musculature and so on, although arguably they too might be encompassed by the term). Kuzushi, the unbalancing act, is also a direct result of body mechanics. Anything a martial artist can do with "chi" I can do just as well with the technique alone. Chi, abstractly, was a very advanced concept for the day, but it has little relevance in the world of modern empiricism.
@diplomatperson1 Hi, i thumbs up your comment because i agree with it all except "The Chi,you bet it exists.". I do not even know what chi is could you inbox me on what it is please. :)
What you should feel, not imagine, but actually feel your entire skeleton move in a ripple type of movement emanating from your lower back which itself is moved by your diaphragm as you breath. Your diaphragm moves your lower spine which moves everything else. That's the point of standing chi kung. If you don't feel that movement, keep practicing. Forgert imagination, pretending, mysticism or
All movement is a variation of the basic movement your breath causes. Like a whip, not a stick.
rrobsr- In Yi quan breath is natural, not forced and no diaphragm consionce breathing. we use mind activity and imagination only as a tool to produce a certain feeling of force throughout the whole body, other methods of zhan zhuang are very different. zhan zhuang is to improve your testing force and explosive force and overall health,.
@rrobsr Hi can I ask what you experience is with YiQuan, and how are you saying the lower spine moves when one moves the diaphrarm? - breathe in and lower spine curves/swings? Which way? Breathe in and curve/swing outwards? Or vice versa? Thanks.
everyone on this comment page claiming chi doesn't exists is wrong. scientist have hooked hundreds of men on electromagnetic responders which reads the amount of energy we give off and men claiming control of chi selectively produced more energy then those with out control. meaning people with control of their chi can bring it fourth at their own will and knowledge to use. so if anyone here wants to say that thats not science the sharks can live in square tanks
chi isn't something that needs to be solidified, its a process of mentality. Whether you choose to be it exists or not is up to you. Its exactly like the debate of whether god exists. you can choose to stick to your science purely because of ''reality'' that there is no god. or you can choose to believe god is out there.
@vinceeeep No its not chi is said to be energy. You can build up energy in your punches simple as that. How hard is that to figure out? Some say it doesn't' exist but further study showed that its merely just energy built up. The more you train the harder you would hit thus meaning to them more chi.
@shukaku - that is closer to the truth yes. "Energy" is defined as "the capacity to do work." So as you get better at your skills you can generate more energy yes, but that is pure physics and far from "the force" that Americans get duped into thinking by frauds trying to make a buck off them.
@vinceeeep choosing to believe something has nothing to do with it existing,people believe all kind of crap and always have.Chi isnt a proces of mentality,not even the chinks think that.
@billysue2 I have same doubts about,but we must try to see troughout average pratictioneers. Mediocrity now doesn't mean that tha style is poor.May be only pratictioneers are.We must respect others training.
@yulaw3 theyre practising the same crap that most arts do,forms which dont even resemble the sparring.When they and every art known to man spar or fight,its just kickboxing with wrestling done extremely badly in most cases.Theres no internal energy no movements practised daily in class.Its all a waste of time if they are concerned with combat.
@billysue2 i see what ya mean dude,but remember the rules between ring fighting & street defense are different.i saw some tiny dudes in china,pummelin thieves an really hurtin people with that soft stuff.i mean full on attacks.thats when ye see the true internal stuff.when its a matter of savin yer ass.those kicks wont even matter.but yer point is true.but u never see form until it matters thats all.
@billysue2 No, internal arts refer to martial arts using ki-crap, commonly known as physical energy. You simply use the given energy to its full potential instead of enhancing your muscles so inefficient blows become more or less powerful.
@FinalKenny2 every combat sport does that already.we dont need some eastern rubbish with zero scientific evidence to show us how to strike,when they start winning kickboxing or boxing world titles then people will listen.that will never happen.
@billysue2 sorry mate,bu QI is a scientific fact.measured through heat sensors in yer blood.if u didnt have internal energy u wouldn be on youtube talkin dogs turds!
@yulaw3 what science would that be,you do know theres no basis for almost all of chinese medicine and its ridiculous theories.Heat sensors measure heat ,not chi or qi or whatever its called,heat spreading into a part of the body doesn mean its chi,it means theres increased bloodflow.
@billysue2 ok then ur obviously right,ill go tell the scientists to stop wasting their time.i dont wanna argue online with people.sorry for tryin to make a point.
p.s. Qi or Chi is just energy,like i said ,even you have it...maybe most of its in ur empty head though...next to ur ass.lol
@yulaw3 no scientists believe in chi for fuck sake,they would be laughed out of by their peers if they did.When you say I have it,you are referring to life force of which there is none,there is brain activity,bloodflow etc but nothing amounting to a life force that can be manipulated by breathing and chi kung exercises.Life force seems to be referring to something like spirit or soul,neither of which exist either
Bio-magnetic electrical energy is well known now:) call it chi, ki, prana, or whatever name you want to call it. With it we are alive, with out it we are dead...How does are heart stay beating? (energy+chi or e=mc2)
@TheMyns no credible scientists recognise the existance of chi,there have been no quality studies with positive results,there have been some retard studies done in china but arent even science.
@billysue2 science itself is always changing because they don't get it right. But at that there is actually plenty of non-"retard" modern science haha. Regardless of either, experience is where any proof lies and when you experience it without all the smoke, it's tangible and real. Books and scientists can't and will never give you that experience.
@billysue2 Of course, it might not exist. Maybe it's suggestion. But it has an effect, i can tell you. Chi kung worked for me(i used to do some exercises given to my father by a doctor). When you are doing some this stuff you've got to imagine than energy goes to your kidneys or stuff like that. Maybe it is just a way to manipulate your body functions, but it worked for me. I do not want to be annoying, you got many replys, but i thing this may be different.
It seems like following one's heart is out of the question in this discussion. "Scientists" it seems, must tell us what to believe instead.
Do YOU enjoy Chi Kung? Can YOU feel the energy moving inside you? Then there's nothing more to it! Anything that is good for mankind has its share of naysayers. Just don't listen to them. Listen to yourself.
@billysue2 1. No they don't. And if you would have a minimum knowledge of martial arts that would be clear to you.
2. I don't see anyone showing western SPORTS anything.
3. That will never happen because there is no interest in doing that. Because there is a clear difference in intent (Yi) between martial arts and sports.
You have a very poor knowledge of martial arts. I suggest you stop ranting about topics beyond you. Especially when you want to criticize them.
@FinalKenny2 id say 25 years in full contact arts and wrestling styles with a few years mma is a reasonable place to launch criticism from.Any style ive studied except tkd uses exactly what you describe as using the body to its full potential,its nothing to do with chi.Sanshou is what kungfu looks like when they fight/spar but its nothing like whats practised in most chinese styles.
@billysue2 No they aren't, and that is the problem. All you have studied are some sports. They are for competitions. Call again after studying wushu, kempo, etc. properly. You don't even grasp the basics.
You have built up energy to then use it powerful. Inner styles refine the given energy and utilize it in specific paths that an opponent can't directly block them.
Chi is simply another word for energy. Any martial artist at least knows that much.

ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
First of all, its called "Qi".
"powers suddenly vanish", dude you have no ideas what you are talking about.
"Magical force", How old are you mentally retard?
and yes I can say you have no ideas what Chinese martial arts are really about.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord Why was Chinese empires more advanced? Because "we" know things you don't? So you're a living person from the Qing dynasty?
What the fuck do you know that I don't? That chi exists? Fucking prove it. Don't claim to have knowledge of things that you refuse to, or CAN'T prove. Just saying that indicates you're a liar.
I can fly. Don't believe me? Well I won't prove it. Why? Because it can't be proven scientifically, therefore you're supposed to just believe me with no evidence.

@ninjajesus81
Lol, dude if you havent done any research in history, then YOU better Stfu.
Dude, I dont know why you are so stobborn, but not everything has a clear explanation "scientifically".
If you really want proof, some people actually used "heat detector" to find the "Qi" circulating in a master's body....
seriously, you are just childish, talk about flying, bullshit
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord How do you know not everything has a clear scientific explanation?
Prove it.
Someone used a "heat detector" to detect heat in a human being's body? Really? Everyone has heat in their body, otherwise they'd be dead.
Show me your proof. Oh, that's right, it doesn't exist, you liar.
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
everything has a clear scientific explanation? No, if there was an explanation on how to avoid financial crisis, then why would we be suffering the first place?
And i dont know why your brain is fked up, your dumb ass explanation on heat made me laugh.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord So nothing bad can happen if science can explain everything? Your logic is shit. Stop talking.
You don't know what heat is either. You're fucking stupid.
No contradiction, gook.
I have more experience with martial arts than you, gook.
No one uses those stupid useless martial arts that you use, nigger.
Qi doesn't exist bitch. It's fiction. Nigger boy.
Prove it exists. You can't. Die, bitch.

There are theories that some things COULD exist, but haven't been observed, but chi has no such theory.
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
Sure, if you warship science that much, go figure out how to AVOID FINANCIAL CRISIS.
If science can prove anything, then why the fk did financial crisis at september 2008 gfed wallstreet?? lol.
If Henry Paulson, Bernanke knew the "science" behind this.....
lol dude, get a life you fail.
search those names if you dont know who they are, trash.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago

However, if you really want to be a hardass and prove it, then good luck because it has already been UNIVERSALLY acknowledged
mightyflamelord 1 year ago

@mightyflamelord So you're saying black men are violent? You're saying they'll attack me and kill me for calling them a nigger?
And I should actually like blacks because of that? If they're shitty enough to kill someone over a word, they deserve to be called niggers.
What are you? A gook?
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
Education? lol From what I see, you only have basic high school education, and probably less because i am overestimating you.
The point is: if it has not been or cannot be proved scientifically, doesnt mean that such "Qi" does not EXIST.
My ancestors have already figured out gravitational force long before Newton. However, there were no actual theory developed in this...
In the same, Grecs used logic to use some basic "Integral" theories, later developed by Newton...
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord What proves I don't have an education? I know a lot about science and all academic studies. You have knowledge of what? Qi? Something that doesn't fucking exist?
Qi could easily be proven if it existed, but no one wants to prove it, because they know it doesn't exist.
Your ancestors figured out gravitational forces? How did they "figure out" gravitational forces? Do you even know what Newton did?
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
Lol, all I think about you is empty piece of shit. You are stobborn and cannot accept that such "qi" exists.
Any chinese martial arts practionner or any expert karate masters can tell you the same thing: it exists.
Clearly, you have no fucking ideas about martial arts.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
For now, I can say that it exists, not only in China, but in the states because ive seen some black belts performing hard "qigong"
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord Newton and someone else created integral calculus, not the Greeks. You're making shit up.
You don't create calculus by using logic. That makes no sense.
I don't think you're lying about Qi. I know you're lying. It has not been proven and it never will be. It's made up bullshit, just like religion. Stop believing in it like a stupid sheep.
What do you think Qi is? Do you think people can make fireballs out of their hands? What do you think it does?
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
Yes as i said, newton did get deeply involved with calculus---derivatives&integrals.However, it was the Grecs that first discovered ways to make calculations, similar to the ways shown in integral. If you cannot understand what I wrote, then your comprehension is a fail.
Unexpected from a dumb ass.

ninjajesus81 1 year ago

Oh yeah, already ruined.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord Qi doesn't exist. Shut up.

Gooks can't fight, that's why all the UFC champions are non-gooks.
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
Look, not everything that doesnt have a scientific prove means that it "doesnt exist".
It might be the fact that it is so hard to be proved or that the methods of proving it is still unknown.
On the contrast, in this case, it "doesnt need to be proved", because it is known to many martial arts practitioners.
You have already lost your face on youtube, go flame somewhere else because bring up science doesnt have anything meaningful in supporting your stobborn opinion.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord If it existed, it would be proven by now.
And they're not trained to fight, they're trained to dance and act like they know how to fight.
ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
lol, you dumbass, most of the so-called "fights" in UFC are fixed fights....as well as in boxing.
"Effective fighting techniques", lowlife you have no ideas about martial arts, dont try to be smart, you fail.
They cant do what? they dont have qi? rofl....do you even know what Qi means?? lol

its too bad, but on the bright side, you'll live because you wont ever receive a hit from a hidden expert, that will kill you.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord Fixed fights? Prove it. It's easy to lie, that's why you do it. It's harder to provide proof, which is why you have NONE for anything you say.
I know more about martial arts than you. You know about fake crap that doesn't work. You learn everything from movies.
They don't have qi. Without qi, you die? Prove it. Again, it's easy to say random shit like that.
I can do the same thing: without pi you'll die.
The difference is, pi actually exists.

dude, if you had any previous experience in fighting(in your case, none), you would have seen the fights were seen, there are hints...god you retard.

most of the moves in choreography, as what it meant in my previous post, are useful in real life situations.
so in ur point of vue, all of them are completely useless? go fuck yourself you are completely a moron.
as i said, let an expert try it on you, and u'll realise its existence the moment u die.
i dont care about your stobborn opinion, as long it is practiced and other people believing it.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@mightyflamelord Nope, choreography is not useful.

ninjajesus81 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
okay..your first sentence is just IRRELEVANT. Choreography are extremely useful in martial arts movies...otherwise, there would be countless deaths by now.
in another sense, moves "in" choreographic movies are extremely handful in real life, because they are real and useful...simple as that. Except low quality movies made by your country, the holy States.

I respect George St.Pierre and the others, but saying bullshit about people who you dont know makes you look childish.
wait, you are childish.
As well, if it never gets proven "scientifically", it wouldnt matter much.
Because once you get a hit from a master, you'll understand the moment you die.
I hope you dont end up like that
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
So far, you are here to disturb the audience in discouraging them that such thing does not exist.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@ninjajesus81
Of course, you are not the only one and as a matter of fact, im not surprised.
Qi can only be "proved" by believing in it, throughout your journey in training martial arts, especially taijiquan.
If you do not believe in such thing, fine, be who you are and stop ruining this for the other people.
mightyflamelord 1 year ago
@diplomatperson1 Yeah, sort off... The problems is the nature of such energy: laser and electricity as a form of light might been abstract but they could have a clue since it was something slightly more tengeable and they have to deal with one concept.. Qi is slightly different in concept, as it is the energy behind life itself and what compose this energy... Less poetically, "stuff to stay alive".
"Scientist" will talk about oxygenation, glucose transformation, heartbeat...
therrydicule 1 year ago
@diplomatperson1 isnt it the other way round? didnt they first believe in chi and now its proved that there is no chi? its as if u were saying the bible is true but theres no proof or at least something that would be a logical explanation i mean what makes u believe in chi?
Krankyism 1 year ago
@diplomatperson1 true words...
S3TPROGRAM 1 year ago
@diplomatperson1 it's a fair point that science isn't infallible, but without evidence, there is little reason to believe. Chi or ki was probably a miscellaneous word used to describe body mechanics that were not fully understood. I've done aiki-jujutsu for three years and I sometimes (not always) encounter aikidoka who tell me I must channel my ki to do a particular throw (etc). But I can do all the throws without any special "ki" energy just by using good body mechanics...just an example
elenchus 8 months ago
@elenchus There has been many explanations for it. Since the first time you were thrown, you possibly felt a sudden force that got you out of balance before you got airborne. In that case, it is related to that . Body mechanics has a lot of influence in controlling it.
peposo7 6 months ago
@peposo7 I would disagree with you in degree. Body mechanics is just all there is (outside of the obvious, like musculature and so on, although arguably they too might be encompassed by the term). Kuzushi, the unbalancing act, is also a direct result of body mechanics. Anything a martial artist can do with "chi" I can do just as well with the technique alone. Chi, abstractly, was a very advanced concept for the day, but it has little relevance in the world of modern empiricism.

Like a whip, not a stick.

everyone on this comment page claiming chi doesn't exists is wrong. scientist have hooked hundreds of men on electromagnetic responders which reads the amount of energy we give off and men claiming control of chi selectively produced more energy then those with out control. meaning people with control of their chi can bring it fourth at their own will and knowledge to use. so if anyone here wants to say that thats not science the sharks can live in square tanks
Thank You.::=keith=::.

@billysue2
chi isn't something that needs to be solidified, its a process of mentality. Whether you choose to be it exists or not is up to you. Its exactly like the debate of whether god exists. you can choose to stick to your science purely because of ''reality'' that there is no god. or you can choose to believe god is out there.
vinceeeep 1 year ago
@vinceeeep No its not chi is said to be energy. You can build up energy in your punches simple as that. How hard is that to figure out? Some say it doesn't' exist but further study showed that its merely just energy built up. The more you train the harder you would hit thus meaning to them more chi.
shukaku 1 year ago
@shukaku - that is closer to the truth yes. "Energy" is defined as "the capacity to do work." So as you get better at your skills you can generate more energy yes, but that is pure physics and far from "the force" that Americans get duped into thinking by frauds trying to make a buck off them.
robocoastie 1 year ago
@vinceeeep choosing to believe something has nothing to do with it existing,people believe all kind of crap and always have.Chi isnt a proces of mentality,not even the chinks think that.

@yulaw3 theyre practising the same crap that most arts do,forms which dont even resemble the sparring.When they and every art known to man spar or fight,its just kickboxing with wrestling done extremely badly in most cases.Theres no internal energy no movements practised daily in class.Its all a waste of time if they are concerned with combat.

yulaw3 1 year ago
@yulaw3 internal arts refer to arts that are using some chi crap to generate power,obviously that doesnt exist
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 No, internal arts refer to martial arts using ki-crap, commonly known as physical energy. You simply use the given energy to its full potential instead of enhancing your muscles so inefficient blows become more or less powerful.
FinalKenny2 1 year ago
@FinalKenny2 every combat sport does that already.we dont need some eastern rubbish with zero scientific evidence to show us how to strike,when they start winning kickboxing or boxing world titles then people will listen.that will never happen.

yulaw3 1 year ago
@yulaw3 what science would that be,you do know theres no basis for almost all of chinese medicine and its ridiculous theories.Heat sensors measure heat ,not chi or qi or whatever its called,heat spreading into a part of the body doesn mean its chi,it means theres increased bloodflow.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 ok then ur obviously right,ill go tell the scientists to stop wasting their time.i dont wanna argue online with people.sorry for tryin to make a point.

thank u im here all week.

@TheMyns no credible scientists recognise the existance of chi,there have been no quality studies with positive results,there have been some retard studies done in china but arent even science.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 science itself is always changing because they don't get it right. But at that there is actually plenty of non-"retard" modern science haha. Regardless of either, experience is where any proof lies and when you experience it without all the smoke, it's tangible and real. Books and scientists can't and will never give you that experience.
ShaolinHero1 1 year ago
@billysue2 Of course, it might not exist. Maybe it's suggestion. But it has an effect, i can tell you. Chi kung worked for me(i used to do some exercises given to my father by a doctor). When you are doing some this stuff you've got to imagine than energy goes to your kidneys or stuff like that. Maybe it is just a way to manipulate your body functions, but it worked for me. I do not want to be annoying, you got many replys, but i thing this may be different.
BajoCLF 1 year ago
It seems like following one's heart is out of the question in this discussion. "Scientists" it seems, must tell us what to believe instead.
Do YOU enjoy Chi Kung? Can YOU feel the energy moving inside you? Then there's nothing more to it! Anything that is good for mankind has its share of naysayers. Just don't listen to them. Listen to yourself.
Janotheknight 1 year ago
@billysue2 So why do they call chi energy then? They believe it in but they call it energy while the chinese called it chi simple as that.
shukaku 1 year ago
@billysue2 1. No they don't. And if you would have a minimum knowledge of martial arts that would be clear to you.
2. I don't see anyone showing western SPORTS anything.
3. That will never happen because there is no interest in doing that. Because there is a clear difference in intent (Yi) between martial arts and sports.
You have a very poor knowledge of martial arts. I suggest you stop ranting about topics beyond you. Especially when you want to criticize them.
FinalKenny2 1 year ago
@FinalKenny2 id say 25 years in full contact arts and wrestling styles with a few years mma is a reasonable place to launch criticism from.Any style ive studied except tkd uses exactly what you describe as using the body to its full potential,its nothing to do with chi.Sanshou is what kungfu looks like when they fight/spar but its nothing like whats practised in most chinese styles.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 No they aren't, and that is the problem. All you have studied are some sports. They are for competitions. Call again after studying wushu, kempo, etc. properly. You don't even grasp the basics.
You have built up energy to then use it powerful. Inner styles refine the given energy and utilize it in specific paths that an opponent can't directly block them.
Chi is simply another word for energy. Any martial artist at least knows that much.
But you aren't. You are a sportsman.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
