  • Love how this has been on youtube for more than two years and still no-one has didliked it.

  • My absolute favourite rendition. I too would say it's the perfect speed. Others are just too rushed.

  • wow his left hand sounds like a string instrument on pizzicato. amazing.

  • <3

  • Chopin looks like Professor Snape.

  • @lawinnn hahahahaha

  • @lawinnn i wonder how he sounds like

  • @lawinnn hahahahaha yes! Never noticed it but you are correct (it would be more like Snape looks like Chopin but well, whatever)

  • I like this version, however I do like Pollini's better. Pollini's is on the fast side, and this is quite a bit slower. I am a fan of Ashkenazy.

  • I'm a know nothing...but I know I prefer to listen to Ashkenazy's interpretaton...it speaks to me more the way I hear it, feel it. very emotionally generous and flowing

  • A fine interpretation indeed but, at least to me, nobody has ever play this work as Claudio Arrau did.

  • @graant71 I 100% agree with you. Many pianist can play this piece as him.

  • He plays it best.

  • when I am learning a new piece I always seem to end with Ashekenazy's interpretation as best : )

  • Wow, I'm gonna have to agree...this is one of my favorite interpretations of this nocture.

  • I agree ... I ecnourage these young pianists to practise and develop their own feeling of music and never discourage. We simple listeners appreciate technique but also passion in what you do thanks

  • Could listen him and the Nocturne day and night...

  • I agree, this is one of my favourite interpretations! I would listen to this forever, but I can't, I have to practise and listen to myself play....

  • Ashkenazy's interpretation is the best. Everyone else plays it too fast in my opinion and don't feel the music like he does.

  • @ZoneofInhibition wow amazing rubato in the first few lines.

  • @ZoneofInhibition How about Pollini's interpretation? It's also fantastic!

  • @ZoneofInhibition really? listen to Arrau, please.

  • Thank you :) Ashkenazy is undoubtedly one of my favourite performers. I was lucky enough to see him live in Zurich a few years ago when he played Rachmaninov.

  • @AngeliqueTheMage lucky you :)
