  • Yah I watched my friends slice the ball and I figured out how to do that back hand slice and that comes in handy for when I can barely get to the ball

  • no Rosewall slice :(

  • This is my favorite hit. I love to make it land really short during a long rally ;D

  • Can anyone give me some tips on how to hit a slice deeper and lower(I always pop it up and it lands like 3ft from the net) Thanks!

  • Should use the guy with the red Dunlop racquet as an example the whole time instead of the other guy

  • Toxin1241. That tends to happen! I hit my first drop shot just from watching other people!

  • I have the girl's racquet haha xD

  • wow i somehow found out how to do this in a tennis match withhow ever knowing abou it

  • This is really hard to do!!!!

  • thanks this is so much better than sportskool

  • could have picked some players with decent technique to demonstrate this...

  • @spacecowboy95 they have decent technique

  • @federerbestcIass looks like the kind of slice i see from saturday morning ladies casuals at the club. sorry. its not good technique.

  • @spacecowboy95 ur dumb

  • These darn british and their "Anti" Clockwise

  • To perfect it : no bend elbow, shoulder aligned with target and more weight transfert foreward. Just take a look at the best slice BH ever : steffi graf.

  • i hit it with two hands at the 4.5 level

  • I love Jeremiah Weed

  • suuuuuuuper!

  • And hold the racket at its absolute end...not like a 5yearold...

  • You need to slice the ball lower close to the high of the net as possible.

  • Not a good slice, you need to slice the ball lower close to the high of the net as possible.

  • Thanks so much for the very informative video. I really needed a visual on the technique and that's just what I got. Can't wait to practice!

  • how do you switch grips between points?

  • @PCwizGURU how you hold the racket.

  • It asks you if you want to be as good as Federer, Nadal, etc. like thats actually possible haha.

  • I'm kind of sick of them only showing these two or three players. They should show more players so we can see a wider variety of techniques. Also, they shouldn't show the leftie girl so much because the majority of players can't relate to her since they are right handed.

  • esta re chido el puto vídeo

  • poor example.

If you shoot such a back-hand against a good player you are dead.

This is much too shy and high.

Slice backhand shoud be much more agressive. The player must go forwards, hit the ball before it is at the top.

The raquet must moves forward direction, not left to right side.

this is beginner slice backhand which is showed here.

  • @abgrallp Yea much too defensive, these guys probably stick to topspin shots and rarely rely on slice, that's why its not their best shot.

  • 0:40

    Beautiful

  • I have a problem with my slice, the ball tend do bounce really high if i don't use a lot of strength. However if i add power in my slice it sometimes go out. I need help!! my slice is terrible

  • I saw your videos many times and I founded that you are professional teaching better than other clips. Thanks you so much.

PS: I have small question: Can you show what different of "back hand slice" and "back hand volley" . Many thanks again.

  • Good instruction.

  • I love this place; it has slow-mo and everything

  • So it's pretty much an Eastern grip?

  • Backhand slice can be offensive (such as for going to the net) or defensive (it slows down the point without giving a chance to your opponent of attacking, and it changes from topspin, which can lead to a fault from your opponent).

    I think it's a useful shot

  • great form

  • Slice Backhand is so useful. Like it. ;)

  • Does anyone else get sidespin when they hit their backhand slices?

  • @iSecksYou that means you are slicing under it instead of on the back of it... when hitting a regular slice u go down the back.. if you want a drop shot slice under it and puts the slice sidespin on it... the slice side spin is not good for deep shots

  • @xxx0ox0 Hmm, I never thought about why I was generating so much sidespin on it (or that it was improper, lol), but yeah, I guess iSeckYou and I naturally slice under the ball versus brushing the back of it (not a natural feel for me). As far as depth, I guess I've been hitting it so long that way that getting depth on that sidespin slice isn't a problem.

  • @iSecksYou LOL, yes! 90% of the time my backhand slice has crazy sidespin on it, so when it hits the court it usually flies off to my opponent's right.

  • good tutorial. quite some visual effects ;)

  • Watch the "Federer backhand slice" video on channel XSTF to see how masters do it.

  • I love this!

  • they are so good

  • should have used the guy hitting at 2:21 for the whole video.

  • @poopseks

    agree

  • @poopseks Agreed. He's much better.

  • Yeah I have that problem too...

  • u need to hit tru the ball not hit the ball downward. use the natural downspin momentum of your racquet.

  • Same problem here.....but try watching the slow motion video of fed slicing the ball at wimbledon where you have the commentary.......its the first vid on the related videos "The Roger Federer Experience -- Slice "

  • thx this helped be a lot

  • this is such a great series of instructional videos

  • umm the girl hit a 2-handed slice lol

  • Comment removed

  • @iIIwiIl01 when does she hit a 2 hand slice?

  • @iIIwiIl01 I would say that two handed slices are better if you use them as drop shots because it's really hard to read your opponent if the opponent makes two-handed drop shots.

  • @vika0194 yes but you can't play low balls with two handed slice and when swing with two handed opponent will know what are you going to play.I play one handed slice and drop shot also one handed, but I swing for backhand and then I release left arm in the last moment.

  • @iIIwiIl01 there are people who hit 2 handed slices. nothing wrong with it, just a different technique

  • Gratz, great tactics...

  • it's just like a professional high school for tennis!

  • Awesome
