How can she throw a fireball like that at 5:10? I want to a special effect in one of my musicals where I can use fire coming out of the broomstick I saw on the press reel part 2 you uploaded.
I find it very funny that Michael Gruber was the Tin Man and Ken Page was the Cowardly Lion in the same production! You were sooooo lucky to see these guys live.
Is John Patridge the Scarecrow? Probably not, but that would just be hysterical.
I absolutely love Michael. =] I saw TWOO about a month ago and it was really good, but I wish I could have seen it with him, even though I know he was in it years ago. I saw him in a Chorus Line a couple of weeks ago. He did amazing! I got to meet him. He's the nicest guy in the world.
This is as high of quality as it gets. Remember this WAS 1997. Digital cameras were only for the rich, and even so, they weren't of great quality. This is a transfer of an analog VHS tape.
He is the Tin Man. Boq is a character from WICKED. There is no such character as "Boq the Tin Man." In the world of the Wizard of Oz, Boq is in fact the Mayor of Munchkinland.
In our world they are the same person. That's how I'm doing Wizard of Oz for Backyard. I'm making Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion describe their life as Fiyero and Boq.
like your backyard or is that a company, and if so then you will destroy The Wizard of Oz. it is an entirely different story from an entirely different point of view. Wicked and TWOO are 2 separate animals. thats about as appropriate as pausing munchkin land to have glinda and "THE WICKED WITCH" NOT ELPHABA!!!!! sing "what is this feeling" it is so completely out of context and disrespectful to The Wizard of Oz entirely. Who ever is in-charge of ur production should be ashamed of themselves
@WizardofOzfan39 Actually, if you have read L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Boq is a Munchkin that Dorothy meets on her way to the Emerald City before she even runs into the Scarecrow.
Thanks so much for putting this up!! I'm a huge Michael Gruber fanatic and always wanted to see him as the Tin Man but never thought that anyone would ever put any videos of him up (I've looked all over here, on Amazon, and even eBay). And he's just as fantastic as I might have expected. Thanks again!!
In April 2008, The Wizard of Oz will be coming back to Madison Square Garden. The costumes and sets are different. It also features an unknown cast. This is to honor the Wizard of Oz celebrating it's 70th Anniversary.
What´s your problem with Wicked?, ok, wizard is one story, and wicked is another, but wicked is the untold history, is just that A HISTORY BASED ON WIZARD OF OZ, an d it´s beautiful, just like Wizard of Oz.
I don't have a problem with WICKED. I love WICKED. I just don't like it being compared with THE WIZARD OF OZ or people saying that the stories are directly continual to each other. They're not. To say that they are one and the same is disrespectful to the creators of both.
I actually remember. The Wizard of Oz was the third play I ever did. I played Uncle Henry and Chistery Hymee Nikko, the flying monkey. Also the Witch's brother. My character of Chistery Hymee Nikko is convinced by Dorothy that he is good at heart and not some monster and he betrays his sister the Witch and tells Dorothy and her friends her only weakness is LOVE.
Then later on, I did it again as a spoof called What If The Slippers Were Green and I played the Cowardly Lion--

It's probably hard not to be, though. Judy Garland didn't have to be as loud as this chick does, so it comes out a little extra whiney...

Deleted. Yes, it was both a spoiler (for WICKED) and incorrect (for OZ)
