  • OH GOD, THE CHAIR'S ALIVE!

  • It's amazing how they actually put in the effort to structure this like a real pop song. Not as common in kids' shows today.

  • soo mmuucchh memories!!!

  • I'm a baby. Ga ga goo goo wop wop wop wop! Wow, loving memories!

  • 1:46 - 1:56 Richard Hunt was having trouble keeping the bib on the Muppet so you'll notice one of the babies going down for a second so Richard can fix the hat quickly. LOL ;)

  • NOSTALGIA!!!!!

  • oh my god, i love this song!=) i used to sing this to my little sister hahaha! they ought to make a compilation of these classics.

  • I miss the old sesame street shows, not fond of the newer shows...

  • Whoever sang this had or has such a gorgeous voice.

  • I think thats Marilyn Sokol performing the lead singer. :O)

  • yes, she also sang i want a monster to be my friend, i think richard hunt is singing background

  • HAHAHAHAh this definitely a classic, Sesame street is not the same anymore, the upcoming generation is missin out!!!!!

  • I agree - if I EVER have kids, I will show them Sesame street by way of Youtube, not by way of PBS, so that they may enjoy the same level of fun that our generation was given.

  • seeing this for the secound time, oddly enough helps me remember the very first time that remember seeing this skit; it was around the time that i was just finishing preeschool or in kindergarten.

  • this is what Sesame Street should still be right NOW why did they change the format now well quite frankly it sux.

  • miu-chan singing i em a baby {now just rock me...}

  • Thank you for posting this! I have been thinking about this song for years and couldn't find it-- it was my favorite growing up.

  • i barley remember this one

  • This is just too adorable to be true. Not to mention, no less clever than any of Sesame Street's many treasures.

  • Love how the "Rock-A-Bye And Goodnight..." melody is used after each chorus...with brass instruments that sound disco-esque.

  • Oh, is that what it is? I always had thought it sounded like the Mr. Clean (cleaning products) theme...vintage theme of course hehehe.

  • I remember this! I saw it when i was really little.

  • I remember this one - great! Thanks for posting!

  • CUTEST disco song!! :)

  • I hadn't watched Sesame Street in over 20 years. I had a baby last July and have been watching it with him now for the past several monthes. I can't believe how much it's changed. Not that it isn't still great for kids. But I would love to download a bunch of these older skits and put them on DVD's so my baby can watch them.

I totally remember watching this one from when I was a kid.

  • You know, it may not be a fashionable remark, but there's something about that baby's attitude that makes me think of Harold Skimpole from "Bleak House".

  • THANK you as well!, I remember this an bopping in the living room to this..

  • As a kid, I found this baby rather girly. Now I see why. Cute.

  • OK, I'll give $1,000 to the person that knows what in the hell Joe Raposo was smoking when he wrote this song! :-P

  • Oh COME ON MAN! What's your problem? This song is pretty hip! Esspecially Frank Oz's, Jerry Nelson's and Richard Hunt's performance in it. One of the best in my book. But then again, that's just mine out of so many other opinions out there.

  • Does anyone know the one with the baby who dances in his crib? I can't find that one!

  • start with amazon and buy off there!

  • I'd be glad to if I new it's name.

  • check sawing's playlist if you mean little Rocky.

  • thanks!!

  • gagogagoga......... luv dis

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I used to sing this song all the time when I was a kid. It's probably been 20 years since I last heard this. Talk about putting a smile on my face :)

  • aw, I remember this one, I loved it, and now my daughter does! Thank you for putting it up there :-)

  • Say what you will, simply TIMELESS!

  • This song is AMAZING!! I remember so many awesome songs thanks to Sesame Street...kids today are so deprived!!

  • Ah, so THIS is it! For the longest time, I remembered seeing a segment with a singing baby in a high chair and a mirror ball on the show...but could never remember what the song was about. Thanks!

  • This was my favorite!!!! Thank you!!!

  • The song is now on my MP3 player. It's embarassing just how much notalga kiddie stuff I've got on there. I also have Kermit's "On My Pond", as well as music from local TV show called Readalong. I always liked it when they made children's music nice and catchy and not too patronizing. I may not be a parent yet, but when I do I am going to show them all the stuff I had when I was a kid.

  • wow it's about time somebody posted this. Talk about getting a song stuck in your head for like 20 years

  • OMG! I remember this! I loved it!

  • I only knew the Dutch version of this song.

  • I don't remember this one, just the tune. In fact I remember running up to a boy and singing "you're a baby, waa waa, goo goo, nah nah nah nah....." and I always thought I had come up with that tune myself! :-) It's funny how stuff sticks in your head!

Does anyone remember one about a baby who rocks out in his crib when he should be sleeping? I can't find that clip.

  • I love this. Everytime it came on I ran towards the TV singing and dancing. I wonder how they got the rocking chair to sparkle with so many sparkles. I love the baby when she sings it's so cute. Everytime this song finished I cried and said oh again again. So cool.

  • oh my god!!!!!

  • This song stuck in my head forever. It's a musician's world to remember the melody and I'm so glad that this was posted. As soon as there was a piano in the house, I played it at 3 or 4! Thanks for posting this classic!

  • "I'm a baby... ROCK ME." I never understood what she was saying! I used to ask my mother why she sang, "I'm a baby, baby, bop be!" My mother didn't know either. Our TV in the 80s had terrible sound, though.

  • I used to think it was "Boppy"...that was what I called my baby bottle when I was 1 or 2 yrs. old. Hahaha, maybe it was those crazy "Bermuda" television sets...remember those things?

  • I loved it when this song came on when I was watching Sesame Street.

  • I forgot all about that one!!! It was one of my favorites!!!!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!. I CRIED AS SOON AS IT CAME ON. I didn't think anyone remembered this. I am a musician and I remember as a child thinking about how great the singing was. You took me back! Thanks again.

  • Wow after so many years I still have this tune in my head! Love it!

  • Wow I totally remember this one from over 25 yrs ago! This has got to be one of the very best Sesame Street segments from the good 'ole days. Excellent singer, really cute and funny muppets. Gosh if a baby really could sing like that she would no doubt win American Idol!

  • I loved this one when I was little.

  • I wish I knew who sang this. The singer has such a nice voice.

  • THis one sounds vaguely familiar to me. Absolutely adorable

  • I LOVE YOU, this was my favourite Sesame Street song ever. I still remember the words because I'm a dork like that=)

  • Thank you from the bottom of my heart....I was seven when I learned this song...23 years ago,

  • I remeber that when I was just a baby

  • i remember this one :D

  • i remember this one!

  • Thank you for posting this! At last, somebody did! I love this tune.

  • I love this! I am going to teach my 2 month old this song.

  • Why that'll be cute I have a cousin that's about to be born

  • YEs! I loved watching this muppet skit on Sesame Street. Everytime it came on, I would try to sing along or dance to the music. I still like the music. It's cute!

The whole reason I came to YouTube was in hopes of seeing this skit again. Thank You!!!!

  • One of my all time favorite SS moments! Excellent song, hilarious muppeteering, especially the back-up babies and the high chair -- and that disco-y bridge punctuated with the ecastatic "YES!" is to die for. I loved this song as a kid... and still do!

  • Oh man i everytime i heard this i just had to sing along. Thanks sawing14s for posting this. I knew i saw it on here but couldn't find it till i saw your list. Awsome!!!

"I'm a Baby" "Gaga booboo waawaa"

  • Absolutely in harmony musky land when listening to this!!! Love it!!

  • I almost cried watching this clip back then!!!

  • Is she singing "I'm a baby...baby...PUPPY?"

  • No, I believe she's singing "I'm a baby, baby, Rock me".

  • Wait a minute! At the ending, how's that silver-glittered high chair coming to life?

Was it moved around by a stagehand? That's what I think.

  • This video like I used to watch was so legendary. This is not scary for me.

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

  • My sister used to do this one with some of her My Little Pony toys. She'd have one of the baby ponies stuck in her Newborn Twins' set's bassinet, singing lead, and her Newborn Twins doing the background voices. And every time I see this, I think of what she did!

  • Isn't that Frank Oz performing the big baby? And Jerry Nelson and Richard Hunt As the little ones?

    I can reconize the movements.

  • Doesn't sound like their voice talents to me. Anybody know?

  • I think that's Louise Gould doing the lead Baby.

  • I Think its maryln sokol who sang i want a monster for a friend?

  • yeah, I didn't mean the voice. I ment Frank Oz doing the puppetry performance lead.

  • I think that is Fran Brill, because Louise Gold didn't join Sesame Street since the early 90s

  • WOW DUDE! Thanks So Much For Posting This!!!!!!! I was asking All Over Muppet Central For It!!!!!

    _ERIC ;)

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! THIS is the clip that I actually came searching for on YouTube initially, and then got sucked into the whole classic Sesame clips. I nearly cried when I saw this posted.

  • she must know baby rocky and tour together

  • Hey, there's a blooper in this one.

During the final verse, when the 2 backup singers are in the silvery-glittered high chair, the backup singer muppet on the right, her hat slips off and ducks down to try to put it back on.

  • I Wonder How they ever mananaged to get that High Chair to sparkle like that

  • YOu know I always noticed that one on the right was messing underneath the chair...as I kid I just figured she was figeting and stuff, part of the act!

  • You rock, Sawing14s! I cannot stress that enough! I've been searching for this instant classic! Thanks a million!

  • I've been looking for this everywhere.

  • Hey Awesome!!!

I was looking for this clip not to long ago, maybe 2 months, cool that you finally posted it. Like you mentioned, amazing noboby posted it before you, this clip is classic from the early 80's.

  • Thanks for posting this...I so remember this from when I was a kid.
