Aion - overview of CBT2 locations

I've been playing on the Chinese servers recently, let me tell you, the game isn't as demanding as people make it out to be o.o...

The recent graphics update enabled Aion to have slightly better graphics, while making the code more efficient ^^.

Try it out, you might rubber band every now and again but atleast you can test it before you get it in EU/NA and buy a sub, HOPING the game runs.

it probably wont be free to play. it will be like 14$ a month. but that isn't much, and games you pay for doesn't take that much of your time. so technically if time is money you spend more money on player free games :p

i guess the graphics just look dated to me because ive played games like Cryis, Farcry2, AOC, And VGO.

Those are first person shooters. I've also played Crysis, farcry 2 etc.. but you cant compare a shooter with an mmorpg.

I know, i was just saying that I am too pampered with good graphics, and all of a sudden when you go back to the MMORPG works it seems way different. If I had never played tons of cryis of FC2 I probably would have fainted from these graphics, so they are for sure very nice.

You forget that MMOs are made to get far more people they can. If you put a graphic level such as those titles of yours, you will lose a bunch of customers. Also, using graphics like that, would demand more money, wich will not return, since your game community will be small.

right, but its not just the graphics that make Aion incredible, its the Art direction. You could have the greatest graphics ever, but if the environment and setting was just plain crappy, people wouldn't like it anyway. With Aion... the art direction is nothing short of amazing.

great art direction will make all the difference, regardless of how many graphical bells and whistles ou have available to you.

It just has the wide scale environment of gws like it's beautiful and vibrant but aion has better graphics

Not to mention, unlike GW this sports a fully 3D map and pathing system. Additionally, one of the things I always found so frustrating about Guild Wars was that you could never explore the bodies of water, and very few building were anything more than static eye candy, no doors, no inner cavities. This game on the other hand has building, houses, castles, cathedrals, all explorable!

hee ok I now hit the high quality view. yes Im not saying it is bad, in HQ it is a cross between GW an wow, the enviormant look more like gw, charters more wowish. I dont care for puffy cartoon looks, the envionment is much more like gw and thats a good view.

wow graphics sux, is for childs 10 years old. guild wars have good graphics, but another ncsoft games have best graphic motor ... lineage II (unreal engine) and tabula rasa for example. Aion's graphics are best that the graphics used in lineage II with the unreal motor.

In general:

1. no bots better GM "police" work. i hate all cheaters in general

2. more xp from grinding thus less grinding

3. More quest with A lot more xp and item/adena etc rewards

4. offline shop servive. When someone put shop to be able to logoff without his shop disappears. or create a special service for this.

With this 4 steps L2 would never had a competitor at mmorpg gaming realm.

4. Altho it had awesome economy and provided RL economic theories to be implemented, bots messed up with that, unbalancing econ. A side note is that to earn money u should had shop 24-7 in order to get have money to but the good items. That meant never to close ur computer... an offline shop service would helped on this, and a LOT.

L2: An awesome game that took pvp and mass pvp to other realm. it gave it meaning ;) My favourite mmorpg so far.

Problems with L2:

1. The game had too much griding... griding xp should be doubled. This resulted to bots creation and use constantly

2. Quest gave pittyfull rewards. items and xp from quest should be 10times as it is not to say 100! Also helped bots out. If quest gave a big reward ppl doing them would benefit more than just bots.

3. GM/ADMINS kinda accepted the boting.

Does anyone know if Aion will have RP servers?

I read somewhere that all servers was supposed to be RP servers but as we all know if thats true then it wont work.

You'll probably have to ask for them and get a lot of support from people once Aion EU/US gets official forum, they said forums would be ready around q2.

Well,I must say I strongly disagree with you.Take L2 as an example.Let's say that 5 thousand people play in the official server.20k play on the rest,private ones.They do not disrespect NCsoft,instead they do know who really made the game,but they just don't want to pay to play and they want as many add-ons possible.Whatever,it's my opinion.Anyway I will play aion no matter if I have to pay or not.

I paid Blizzard money for the service - banning of cheaters, keeping the servers clean. As I heard from my mates, L2 you did the paying, but NCSOFT did no service - which in turn meant you got a better gaming experience on a pirate server.

A lot of botters were banned in L2, it was a game design's problem mainly that made L2 so infested. Wow has its own RMT troubles, i never got spammed in L2 with powerleveling services.

Sorry, but that isn't a service that I feel justifies a monthly fee.

L2 doesn't have corpse looting, and bots can't pvp, botters can, but they must be on their PCs, most of them are catacombs farmers, and whenever a catacomb room was filled with them I called a GM and he moved them out, dunno where, but bots dissapeared.

private servers are a disgrace???ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?There would be no L2,no WoW if there wasn't for private servers.Most people do not want to pay to play.+they want the sense of taking part in the server's development,discussing with the admins on how to improve gameplay and so on.Plus they always want more and more,and that's costum items and costum everything,giving them the ability to experience the game from a different view.You gotta be joking.Private servers ARE the game.

Second, private servers are illegal (maybe not all of them but still). If you're playing on so called private server, you are showing disrespect to creators of the game you're like. It's mean.

Third, I believe that private servers are just miserable semblance of original games.
