Unfortunately he chose the most watched game being the Final. He singlehandedly led Italy to the Final. I believe Platini missed one like this in '86 vs Brazil and France still won on kicks, and Chris Waddle made a similar mess of England's last kick in the Italia 1990 semi-final vs Germany.

yeah, I was at that game at the Rose Bowl cuz my 2nd cousin was on the Italian team. I was only 13 then. My 2nd cousin wasn't famous like Baggio tho, well at least not out here in L.A. It sucks that he missed that kick.
Well, I only met him once when he was out here. His name was Luigi Appaloni or something like that. He played in Italy and I saw him play (in a few games) before the Brazil match (excuse my spelling on his name, cuz I don't speak Italian; just my extended family does). I think Baggio was better than Romario, probably as good as Zico. Just look at his goals with Brescia, the weakest team in Serie A yet he kept them in mid-table for years, and then they dropped down to Serie B as soon as he retired. Can't really compare him to Garrincha who was a pure winger and had a very different role on the field.
Zico was better than Baggio,.....better FK taker (best I'd ever seen, well Mijavolic gets a nod though), could volley with either foot and was a much better passer than Baggio.
I agree about Romario, however if Romario had played/practised hard instead of relying on his natural talent/poaching ability he may have been considered the best footballer ever, and not just "one of" the all time greats.

I'm Mexican and I love both styles...Brasil and Italy, it was the perfect final, but Baggio was not at his 100% at this game.
I prefered Italy in that 94 final but it was a good one world cup, one of my favorite player "Alberto Garcia Aspe" fail his pnalty kick against Bulgaria..so..great players fail too!

i was watching this game! i remember this... i laughed my ass off. i bet he made some italian ppl angry. but any way i don't think he should have taken the shot cz he was injured. bet a lotta ppl 4got that he got injured in this game against Brazil. so this was only a bad decision to let him take the shot.

yeah, I was at that game at the Rose Bowl cuz my 2nd cousin was on the Italian team. I was only 13 then. My 2nd cousin wasn't famous like Baggio tho, well at least not out here in L.A. It sucks that he missed that kick.

Well, I only met him once when he was out here. His name was Luigi Appaloni or something like that. He played in Italy and I saw him play (in a few games) before the Brazil match (excuse my spelling on his name, cuz I don't speak Italian; just my extended family does). Back then he had red hair, kind of a olive complexion, maybe lighter. Other then that, I haven't been to Italy since that same year (1994).

pele played in time where the defence was streets,baggio played in time where the defence was very well organised and tough to cross through,this is the main defferance of their quality,I mean if Pele played in 90's he would be just a normal player but if baggio played in 60's, you could imagine what he would there

baggio is one of the 3 best players of all times and not just becaus of how he played but because he is a great person too, ronaldo is a prostitute user, romario was so violent that you couldn't distinguish him from mike tyson and then zico and garrincha were not better than roberto.

I think Baggio was better than Romario, probably as good as Zico. Just look at his goals with Brescia, the weakest team in Serie A yet he kept them in mid-table for years, and then they dropped down to Serie B as soon as he retired. Can't really compare him to Garrincha who was a pure winger and had a very different role on the field.

Zico was better than Baggio,.....better FK taker (best I'd ever seen, well Mijavolic gets a nod though), could volley with either foot and was a much better passer than Baggio.
I agree about Romario, however if Romario had played/practised hard instead of relying on his natural talent/poaching ability he may have been considered the best footballer ever, and not just "one of" the all time greats.
