People, I wish you refrain from comparing Um Kulthum to Fairuz or the other way round. They were both amazing vocalists, their music survives through generations and generations yet I believe they are from different vocal backgrounds - I'm not an expert, but I'm sure an expert would be able to identify that Um Kulthum's voice is in a different range than Fairuz's

If you don't "like that voice" of Fairuz, then it's your own personal opinion and you don't have to impose it on anybody. Just understand that as much as you prefer Um Kulthum way more than Fairuz, there are people out there who disagree with you and like Fairuz instead.

I also love Fairuz. I loved her since I was a kid. I never cared about Oumkelthoum until few years ago. When I experienced listening to |Oumkelthoum I realized that she has a very comforting voice that I can never feel bored with.
