I don't know how you can play a keyboard that shakes when it hit the notes. I had enough trouble years ago trying to learn to play a piano that sat perfectly still. That of course is only one of the many reasons Don plays for Deep Purple and I never did.
That's my favourite song and i don't care, if there is playing Jon Lord or Don Airey. They are both excelent. And I can't forget the best singer of all times - Ian Gillan!!! If God could sing, he would have Gillan's voice.
It's funny to think that these guys were OLD when this came out....and now when this was recorded in 2002 they were.....even older......and now it's 2011....wow.
I love Jon Lord, and I can't think of a better alternative than Don Airey. I love the solos Don puts together and how he weaves various classical and popular pieces in them so seamlessly....genius.
The 10 people who don't like this must like Justin Bieber. This live performance by Deep Purple is amazingly excellent -- superb music from one of the greatest rock bands ever!
Now if Ritchie would make a couple of appearances , and replace Morse every one in a while. Morse has a more metal way of playing , i just miss blackmores style. had more soul.
Jon is the master of the rock organ, while Airey has a more "pianistic" style. Both of they share the love for the classical music, specially Bach for Lord, the classics and early romantics for Airey. They are the past and the future of the rock keyboards...
@BlueBloodedYoungMan ... somehow i doubt that. don is jon lord's hand-picked replacement. this concert was jon's farewell (he only retired from touring, he still makes occasional appearances alongside don) and don's introduction to DP fans.
it must me said...My generation Rocks!!! These guys could easily be playing on a Cruise line for old folks, like ourselves....Hell No!!! just ask Ozzie...
Uz dužno poštovanje prema Don Airey,za mene se sve završilo kad je Maestro napustio bend.Kad je Blackmore otišao,to sam nekako i progutao, ali kad je Lord otišao,to je već bilo previše...
I'd like to see you do better. He misses some keys, but well, it;s live.. I think it's a nice journey through classical history. Deep purple fits into that history, although not everyone will recognize that nowadays
If you're lucky though, Jon Lord does play as a special guest for deep purple nowadays here and there. I didn't get to see him, but I saw Deep Purple on the 10th nov and they were simply in a different league to everyone else I've seen live, including Roger Waters.
Tökéletes váltás,meglepő és fantasztikus, hogy Don kezdi és Jon a sötétből előbukkan, majd fojtatja...Kiváló!!!!! (Simply great!!!! )
