  • Ah.......; brings back memeories of 1974 at the old cinema in Shirley, Solihull.....

  • THIS IS THE SAME JINGLE FROM KILL BILL BY Q TARANTINO!!!

  • You're right this is the movie that started it all, infact this movie along with Bruce Lee's movies and all the rest inspired me to make some short kung fu movies of my own, and the term baddest is used in the title of one of my movies. "Challenge of the Baddest" , you can link to my channel if you'd like to see it.... this fight scene at the end is epic...

  • "Take my whats her name and hide somewhere."

*guy and girl run 3 feet away and peek from behind a pole.*

    -__-

  • @eagleclaw006I agree my friend-but just a quick heads up,the guy in Born Ivinsible was Carter Wong.He was also good in "good guy,bad guy"roles.

  • so u never whatched bruce VS chuck norris ahahha

  • That siren sound effect comes from second season theme from Ironside by Quincy Jones, that Kill Bill and this movie borrows from.

  • Most early 70s kungfu films werent very good compared to those of Bruce lee films in those days. But this is a dam good movie.Especially before the days of the Bruceploitation films which were disgraceful.Kungfu films like these were few and far between. It took at least 4 years(after his death) to get over Bruce and start making real kungfu films again.Thank god for Shaw brothers.

  • i read somewhere this was the first old school kung fu movie to be shown nationally in the U.S. theaters

  • love this movie but a cliche bad guy being japaneses, yet karate is very strict on certain formalities yet wu shu just is too, meaning a slap fight in these days of kung fu is permisable, shotokahn strike to the face is a big no. preserve the art yes! But to progress it is NOOO!!!!. Violence is sad and drastic no argue, but to a point of equality of all let's evolve now!

  • This was one of the first kung fu movies from back in the day along with the Wang yu movies

  • Quentin Tarantino chose the right background music for when Beatrice is about to fight. A homage to this movie....

  • lol lieh was the coolest badass of all time and not just in shaw brothers movies

  • Baddest you mean worse ?

  • i thought that was pretty boring =/

  • The Japanese without swords are lame...

  • @utopiapro007 - You making fun of Karate and Judo?..

  • Is this China > Japan propaganda?

Did the katana getting broken bare hands mean that China is superior to Japan?

  • @OrigamiPaper it might not be propaganda but look whos making the movie though also the sword went though something then he broke it i saw that in another movie too and some one said in the comments that The Katana is not that flexible So it could be broken but it is just a movie so it could just be a written plot that the charter advances and the other does not so he has to lose some type of way

  • @OrigamiPaper I figured that from the first line "You owe "us Chinese" too much" lol, this wouldn't of been made that long after WW2 which equals the raping of Nanking so I'd imagin there's a bit of propaganda going on.

  • so that weird warning sound effect it came from this movie?

  • @johnny40000 No. It came from the television show Ironside. They used it in this movie

  • So this is the scene that inspired Shining Finger. Amazing.

  • You got to hand it to the Japanese guy he was a pretty good fighter.

  • yeee he is so strong that he can brake with one hand a katana sword

    just a shity scene

  • just a great f k g movie. pete uk

  • Red means Dead!!

  • it was avatars head got cut off lol

  • It is kinda weird how 5 years later the fight scenes would get 100 times better... and 30 years later that a good fight scene would hardly exist

  • it's it's Ball room blitz

  • did he honetsly break a katana sword with his hand??haha

  • a true martial arts classic!..

  • one of the best kung fu movies i had ever seen till date .

  • I believe this is the movie that started the whole Kung Fu cinema craze. The people that saw it in the movie houses in the 70's distinctly remember it as dubbed at the time. When I used to go to 42nd st., NYC in the 80's, all the martial arts flicks were already dubbed. I don't remember ever seeing a subtitled martial arts movie over there and I probably saw about 200 movies.

  • @tropicvibe just wondering, do you mean it started the Kung Fu cinema craze here in North America, Europe or in Asia itself?

  • this is without doubt top of th hill where martial arts movies are concerned with me,i love the whole genre, love bruce lee, kill bill whatever, but i saw this in the 70s and it still retains the word CLASSIC in every sense.

  • holy shit

  • 0:59 kill bill totally copied that shit.

  • Totally copied it on purpose

  • Your comment sounds like its labeling Quentin Taratino as a thief. He has said it himself that Kill Bill is a tribute to several movies in the past. It's kinda like bringing the old stuff back to the modern age instead of leaving them to be forgotten.

If only someone did the same to horror movies so we can have a decent scary movie for once.

  • He reminds me of Sho'nuff from The Last Dragon.

  • A great classic. Still holds its own so many years later.

  • My favourite Shaw Brothers movie!

Too bad Lo Lieh already passed away. He was brilliant in this film and his rugged face made him such a badass of a hero - much more interesting to watch than the other Shaw actors. One of his best performances was the Dirty Harry-wannabe cop in "Don't play with fire". Great actor, truly!

  • I think he also made the best Pei Mei (white eyebrow) in the clan of the white lotus movies. He did great villain roles too, like in born invincible.

  • Lo Lieh is much better off as a villain. It was still good to see him playing a hero role in Five Fingers of Death, but his Pei Mei character and among other films always stood out more for him because how great he played a villain role. He really was a great actor.
