@warsman111 it's possible the that a sequel to Rise would be like this story. It is also possible that Rise is essentially a new version of this. Whatever the case I don't believe Rise has any connection to the previous films.

Some of the exteriors were shot at the Univ. of Calif at Irvine. which is about 50 to 60 miles south of Los angeles. Other exteriors were shot in Century City, an office and shopping complex in West Los Angeles.
And yes, some type of remake is needed. Perhaps they should pick up where the Tim Burton movie left off.
There's talk this is the next Apes remake. FOX is considering a script from screenwriter and director, Scott Frank. We'll see what happens. Let's just hope it's better than Tim Burton's 2001 remake.

The story is very well explained.
All of the first 4 films are essential to the story. The 5th is the weakest, but does explain many things that tie back to the first two films.

@EuromanMovieReport i dont think i certainly dont hope so because the new one is CGI apes instead of make up so it fucks up everything just by doing that i really think its a shame since they even used make up in the remake but just because they have to overuse CGI so much they do it its so annoying.......

@VengefulTrait i wanted them to be played by actors in a costume because all the other movies did it and they were doing fine so i dont see the problem at all with using costumes for this one besides it wouldnt be the same without costumes... but then again they already fucks up everything with the new pointless movie thats just made to reboot a franchise because they cant come up with something original to make money of.....

Oh, its a movie trailer. At first I thought I was watching the flash mobs in Philly and KC. Then I saw the guns and thought it was Detroit or Harrisburg. But, I heard Roddy McDowell's voice and figured it was a movie. Amazing how close to reality their prediction in that movie made 38 yrs ago.

Harrisburg, being an ape-controlled craphole (which may have to declare bankruptcy this year, btw), is what the movie implies by the takeover of human cities by the apes when this version is juxtaposed to the first one.

Yes, the violence is serious, unlike the "ape-controlled" craphole comment , which was obviously a joke (hence the Planet of the Apes reference). Just say its a craphole, we dont need the "ape-controlled garbage" - thats unnecessary, PERIOD.

Some of the exteriors were shot at the Univ. of Calif at Irvine. which is about 50 to 60 miles south of Los angeles. Other exteriors were shot in Century City, an office and shopping complex in West Los Angeles.
And yes, some type of remake is needed. Perhaps they should pick up where the Tim Burton movie left off.

There's talk this is the next Apes remake. FOX is considering a script from screenwriter and director, Scott Frank. We'll see what happens. Let's just hope it's better than Tim Burton's 2001 remake.

It's always amusing when the dates set for sci-fi films comes to pass and nothing remotely close to it happens.
Still, this was the best of the sequels.
