Hey looks good! but it takes you some time to complete the push through. that's because speeking and performing such a shuffle is very hard. If one card stucks then it fails. You could also take a safe way: do the zero shuffle: slip cut and then zero shuffle. Looks the same, same effect but quicker and more open.

Definitely keep working on the push through. Also, like someone else mentioned, make sure not to stop talking when you're about to perform a sleight. It really draws attention to what your hands are doing.

One thing you should never do is stop pattering when your performing a ove, spectators always zero in that something's going on.

Nice routine,but honest the false shuffling and cutting was done terrible, clearly something fishy is going on. This would be awesome if it was done smooth and elegant.

Its true,this trick is not explained in the dvd or anywhere else that i know of :P

I just sat down and broke it to parts,and finally i was able to understand how Darwin does it :D

At least i found a way to do it myself,obviously i cant be sure if my way is the same with Darwins :P

While the explaination isn't on the dvd it is explained in the book Darwin Ortiz At The Card Table.

In the book he referred to this routine as the strongest gambling effect he knows.

Darwin wrote, he has received many standing ovations from both magicians and lay audiences when performing ultimate card shark.

In the book all effects are explained except the card warp deck since it's a marketed trick. Darwin just explains his presentation and not the secret.

At first i thought you were confusing it with "God if Gamblers" but then i realized that that one is in a different book :P

It surely is top quality,but i also really enjoy performing God of Gamblers and The Professional...and of course The Cross!

I've bought Darwin's "Cardshark" a couple of months ago and im now practicing his bottom runup system witch you are using. And it is very helpful for me to see someone else do the tricks so i can get an idea of what it looks like, i've found youre videos very helpful and i think you are really good at what youre doing.i also appreciate all the comments you get so i can learn even more. i think youre the only guy who does darwin's tricks here on youtube.

Well I m THE BIGGEST fan of Darwin,his tricks really changed my view of magic and he was the reason i got into gambling techniques in the first place...

i think darwin ortiz is really good and entertaining one of the best mechanics in the world at this moment. But if you want to learn from his videos well some of his you should know how to handle a deck of cards pretty decent, since he dosent explain in detail in all videos.

Well i d say the Scams and Fantasies with Cards volumes...there are 4 of them,hard say which one to get first cause all of them contain some masterpieces :P

But i think these series contain some easier tricks to follow than the others..at least you can start with these to get the "Ortiz" feeling :P and then move on to the others :D

hey, i dont know if anyone told you but you should make your push thru "better" you hide it well and all but you should make the brief smaller.. i can see pretty clearly that the cards are being pushed thru so try to make it smaller. otherthan that just great=)

About Ortiz,you re right about the fact that some things are taken for granted..one must already have a good handling before he starts learning his stuff.But as a teacher (of his tricks and methods) i think he is very detailed!Anyway :D

yes ive seen magic videos with him as in back to the card table then he is very detailed and good performer.

And yes speed is not the answer becuase a false shuffle should resemble your own regular shuffle and if you shuffle fast normally you should do it fast when you false to. i think its better to be slow and smooth than fast so you barly cant see anything

Well i just prefer to do it slower because i think the ultra fast handling is a bit of a tell that something is going on...if you check out how Ortiz does it,you notice that he too squares the deck slowly,slowly and then cuts it fast...

I think it seems more natural that way because a)normally you dont square the deck at lightning speed after a shuffle and

b)if the whole move is really really fast,someone with good eyesight might catch the idea.Anyway...Cheers!

nice nice, but I agree with AnfractuousPattern. Your squaring action is way too long, looks like you don't know how to riffle shuffle, and that totally mix up with your speech. You should do it like a pro ;)

LoL the speech is an issue,because its kind of confusing for me to speak in english while i m doing sleights and tricks :P

I have thought about shooting them in greek and adding subtitles,but i barely found the time to shoot the vids,subs would need much more time :P :P

Not everything is about speed or smoothness. Like I said, the key is NATURALness. Make it look like you're doing a normal shuffle. The Diagonal weave was waaay too noticeable and big. Make it smaller and it's okay to do the outer-weave at your own pace, but the way you covered the cards was also not natural. Make the littlest details non-suspicious.

Don't get discouraged, it takes time to master these sleights and I'm sure you would do it as I am seeing that you are dedicated to this. Good luck
