  • What color do you have in studio fix plus

  • i use a concealer from body shop together with this product but after awhile I find myself having orange spots on my face.. do you think its because of my concealer? or because of this? thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • If I used this product by itself could it cover all my blemishes? And could I use foundation that doesn't look as good on my face, and put the studio fix over it to make it look better? I loved this tutorial. Thank you. -3

  • I use this by itself and it works just great by its own. You don't want to cake your face with makeup. I have acne scars, etc and it covers and lasts, so no need to apply it over another foundation. I think that is too much! Anyway, this is the bestest foundation I have ever found and it lasts for months. I got my NC20 studio fix back in DECEMBER and it is still not all gone. Depends how much you use, I alwayys put water in my face before application and it helps disperse the makeup, etc.

  • Ohh i didnt listen to the last part of the video lol ignore my aforementioned question :$

  • If I have oilyyy skin what should I put on before I apply my fix plus foundation?

  • Hello, which shade would you suggest for someone very yellow &olive who tans easily, is very hispanic looking and is probably in the NC 37-40 range of darkness and also NC 42 when getting lots of sun.

    Thank you!

  • How does it apply if you just use the sponge?

  • @SOTY824 The sponge works fine the first 2 times you use it (once on each side).

  • using the brush is same as using a sponge. u r dipping it back on the pan multiple times after using the brush on ur face. doesnt that mix the oils of ur face in the powder?

  • @sj1605 she means using the sponge consistently, It's porous so that itself is a breeding ground for germs. Most people wash their brushes on a regular bases

  • @sj1605 Nope, brushes don't have the powder build-up problem typical of sponges. I wash my Kabuki brush with baby shampoo every 2 days.

  • @sj1605 your face should be clean when applying with the brush and it's much easier to clean the brush than the sponge and the brush creates less bacteria and picks up less oil than a sponge

  • Best drugstore kabuki brush? I can't afford Mac or too faced 1. Thanks!

  • @medhasharma Try ELF! (: I heard its nice.

  • @medhasharma I love the cheap one target has by the the tweezers and stuff!!! It costs like 5 bucks!

  • @medhasharma try eco tools retractable brush from target. i think it costs 8 bucks and it's definitely worth it(:

  • I just bought it and this really helps (: thanks!

  • you're SO informative, cool and collected! about time someone gets to the point without rambling on about stupid stuff!

  • this was SO helpful. ive been using studio fix powder forever because N3 is the only color of anything (powder, liquid, cake, cream) that actually matches my skintone. its weird. but my skin is pretty dry and the powder tends to look a little too matte on me but the fix plus suggestion works amaaaazingly!

  • What color is the one you have?

  • Lol I like that "CLASSIC CRESP" what kinda look is that :) ?

  • i use it alone some times with conceler under my eyes and i love it x

  • i have studio fix powder and i like how it makes my skin looks but i think its really messy like it gets on my clothes how can i stop that ? does anybody have that problem? and i dont want to stop using it cuz its the only powder that doesn't make me look like a ghost

  • @hellokiko69 i totally feel u!!i have the same freakin problem, studio fix powder is the only one from mac that doesnt make me look lighter on pictures and i love it but yeah it does gets on my clothes too=/,any solution??x

  • This is one of the most helpful videos on makeup I have ever watched, Thank You!

  • could you use this to set your makeup too?

  • Thanks! this was very helpful

  • can u please do a review on clinique perfectly real powder vs mac studio fix powder? which do you prefer?

  • Hey i know u know ALOT about mac, just wondering whether u could give me a guidance about what colour i may be in mac studio fix powder, im an nc45 in their fluid foundation, and as I'm no where near a mac counter its hard for me to get swatches.

  • I love MAC Studio Fix PPF! I have red hair and my skin is really freckly peachy with rosy cheeks and you'd never believe even here in Ireland how difficult it is to find make-up for really pale skin! The great thing about Studio Fix is the vast selection of shades so it's great for almost any shade of skin! (^_^)

  • This was really helpful. Thank you so much!

  • great tips, love the video imma give that studio fix a try,thanx4sharing

  • I was just wondering what brand your kabuki brush is? it looks like it did a really great job! my brush doesnt do the job, and i feel like i dont achieve my desired look!

  • @rauul4200 it's a smashbox brush, #19. i think retail is somewhere around 50 bucks. got mine off ebay for 19, although of course you have to be careful on ebay!

  • @bluspring

Wow thank you for being so helpful.

  • omg thanks so much, i love your videos are cute , this video is really helpfull

  • Could you use fix plus to set studio fix liquid foundation with no powder? Also, which is better studio fix powder plus or msf natural if I'm an NC45 and I want a natural look?

  • I really like this foundation, but lately it's oxidating on my skin, after a while after I apply it. I hate that. I put some concealer on the areas of my face that need it, and then I set everything with STP and bang - i look at myself in the mirror and my face is like burned out. Do you know why that is? You know anything I should do to avoid that? It tends to happen more often with cream products, like stick foundations...

  • Great review ~ very helpful girl =)

  • Just purchased my Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and Studio Tech Foundation today and I love it...do I really need both? If so, why?

  • Hiya, what colour are you in this foundation? If anyone knows, could u let me know...many thanks!

  • @KIMKATE84 The NW 43 i believe.. OH Wait Go to her Make-up 101 on her playlist and Look at Foundations 101 She has a link to all the foundation tuts up there.. It really helped me.. But i know in one of her videos she lists NW43.. I hope i helped.. LOL i hope its right too.. Blessing

  • I want to get this because my skin is super sensitive and I heard this powder is noncomedgenic which is better for my skin

  • wht colour did u use pls?

  • hey girllll!!!helpful video!!!! i use this powder and i want to know if i can use it with my MUFE face and body liquid foundation!!!!!answer me please!!!!thank you!!!bye!

  • I just went to Nordstrom's and picked up my very first studio fix plus foundation. I found out I am a NC50, which is perfect. This video is very helpful. I wanted light coverage and you explained this perfectly. Thanks!

  • blah blah blah blah blah lol so funny but i really did find the vid helpful

  • Thanks that was very helpful

  • Thanks for this! Very helpful :)

  • @ebony5b: It happens to me too with l'oreal mineral powder foundation! The foundation literally darkens or oxidizes on the face :-(

  • Great. I bought c7 studio fix today and you answered my brush questions that I forgot to ask. Love it I'm subscribing

  • Is it just me or does this powder foundation darken over time? When i apply it in the morning nw43 in the evening after work i am nw47. Can someone clarify this?

  • the male assistant at the Mac store told me it darkens over time...so he told me one shade darker would not be right

  • Wow thanks alot... I like it better with studio fix plus spray over it.

  • what brush do u use, the first one. its red

  • I just bought studio fix this weekend. Thanks for the great tips. Loves you Erin!

  • have you tried the new mac mineralize spf foundation that came out on feb 18

  • @frincis89 Do not get that, it transfers like no other. Looks super natural but runs very very dark and burntorangelike.

  • thanksss! yu helped a lotttt<3

  • thanks love your video =]

  • I just started using StudioFix. I was usually using Clinque and liked it a lot but when I went to the mall when I ran out they didnt have it. I have a dark skin tone. a tiny but lighter than yours (NW45!) My sister used ALL mac makeup and suggested it to me. I love that Mac has so many skintones. I use studio fix with the 136 brush and a cotton ball. I don't understand what the Fix Plus did for you can you explain further. PS You look very pretty:)

  • with the studio finish paired with stuidio fix but im finding it is making me look dry i am going to try stippiling or maybe just misting fix+ over it but i think im going to change my whole routine and try NARS

  • The mist should help, but Nars is awesome!

  • glow and MACS msfn with studio finish i think i need a liquid foundation cuz i am dry and dont need as much coverage from the powder or liquid because i use concealer liquid and a powder and the concealer is crazy covering so together im hoping to get full coverage without looking dry or cakey CROSS UR FINGERS

  • Good luck!

  • when i started using studio fix i used liquid foundation too i also use studio finish i have dry skin and found it to be cakey n emphasize my dryness i stopped using liquid i was getting good coverage

  • i use to always wear liquid foundation followed by press powder select spf nc50..but alwayslooked greasy by mid day...so i purchased studio fix powder in nc50..and when it mixed with my natural oil...it looked to dark ..so i got it in nc45....and love it....looks a little powdery at first..but when it mixes when my oil...flawless

  • Yeah the studio fix is interesting because it can change colors and the color you wear might be different than your foundation color.

  • But if you wanted could you use this as a blot powder or to do touch ups?

  • Yep!

  • @kumi579 NOO then it gets cacky you dont want that use rice papper instead its really thin papper to bloth =] and its cheap

  • Great tips in this video. I use this powder as my everyday foundation for work. I've recently found a better way to apply, which is spraying fix plus on my face and a little on the brush or in the foundation...and buff in. My acne prone skin looks flawless afterwards.

  • Thanks!

  • @ONE922 do you use a concealer under it to cover your acne? x

  • iunno why but the one i bought i feel like it makes my face look darker then it is its a light colour but it almost makes me look grayyy and doesent give me a natural look at allll my face without the mac fx lookks more bright and nice but when iput it it changes

  • go to the mac counter without any makeup on and get advice on what color you should be for studio fix and they'll help you find the perfect shade (:

  • what shade does she wear

  • Comment removed

  • Cheers from the UK!!!

Thanks for sharing your God-given talents with the world!!!

You have just gained a new subscriber!!!

  • Great video hun I've asked SO many people on youtube this question but noone has responded = ( I use studio fix by itself as my foundation I just like that flawless finish but still not obviously "made up" would you reccomend applying it with a kabuki or the 109?

  • I use studio fix all the time and as she said in her video you shouldn't use sponges but if you want a good full coverage just buy disposable wedges and use those to apply your studio fix and it really gives a nice finish

  • You can definitely use them! Nothing's wrong with using them, but they destroyed my foundation b/c I have oily skin. It's just not my preference.

  • Out of those two, the 109. I would use the 129, though.

  • in this video what foundation and thigs did you wear in this video

  • i LOVE my studio fix...don't know how i lived without it for so long! liquid just doesn't cut it in hot, humid, sticky houston!

  • thank u .. i wasnt sure wat brush 2 use

  • i use n43 foundation and n43 powder and sometimes it seems like i end up too light. anyone know why?

  • You should first of all start figuring what undertones you have it could be yellow, beige, pinkish or reddish. NC shades which stands for neutral cool is for yellow/beige undertones, NW:Neutral warm is for pinkish/reddish undertones... please note that the higher the numbers the deeper the shades are, try going for a higher number like 44.5 (if there is one lol) or number 45 if this don't help, ask the make-up lady at the MAC counter...x

  • im nw43, 45 is too dark and the nc's were too light. when i asked at the mac counter, he said that it had to be controlled... dont know what that meant and he did not have very good customer service for me to ask. thanks for your response.

  • Same with me, I MIGHT move up to liquid. But which concealer do use use?

  • Haha, thanks!! What concealer do you use? I have oily skin and acne scars too so I need to cover them!!!

  • I have oily skin but with a dry surface.. Do you suggest me to buy fluid or powder ??

I am really interested in this foundation,,, maybe I should buy both..?

  • I'd suggest you buy powder foundation, and set it with a moisturizing spritz with glycerin in it for added moisture and to meld the foundation into your skin. You can use either a homemade mixing medium or a pre-made spritz like MAC Fix +. I hope this helps!

    xoxox

    luv,

    jessie

  • I'm NC45 and I have oily skin the Studio Fix powder is great on me but because it's really a foundation I like to use either the MAC Matte gel underneath or the Blot Powder in Dark over it otherwise I will be shiney especially in summer.

  • actually, she truly may be an nw44. i'm an nw 45 and that color works for people with skin tones lighter/darker than me. also, how do you think you can be so sure about her complexion via a video?

  • I'm definitely NW43. You're probably an N44, which is lighter than me.

  • You're right about the sponge. I use the large powder brush with Studio Fix and the Mineralize loose powder foundation.

  • omg there are sooooo many mac foundations! which do you suggest for combination/oily skin? i find that studio fix FLUID sort of changes color as the day goes on. it looks almost orangey. i'm so confused. i just want to look natural and flawless n i luv ur vids. any girls got suggestions for me??

  • If you get the hardened top to any of your make up products, just take it off with sellotape (scotch tape). It takes the top layer off without having to scrape it. Hope that helps!

  • @danielleroseclark omg thank you soooo much for this tip xxxx

  • i just went on the mac website before i started watching your video, then it started and i wanted to read the discription of it but it looked so long and i felt soooo lazy, then you said you were gonna read the discription and i was like YES ! and like followed along :P

  • Do you find you have to reapply often ?when i use studiofix it doesnt last long ...

  • Where oh where did you get the kabuki brush???

  • Never tried it, sorry

  • Hi ! just wondering what colour are you for studio fix fluid???

  • I wear NW43 In Fix Fluid.

  • Really informative thanks for posting!!!

One question though, I wear studio fix powder everyday and I want know if I could wear a concealer under it and if so, which concealer?

    Thanks!!

  • I use this everday and I use the MAC concealer that's in a tube like lip gloss. It has the brush inside.I can't think of the name right now.

  • I LOVE THE BLONDS!!!!!!!!!!

  • you do. when you spray your fix + on all your videos, it looks like you want to say aaaaaahhhhhh! love your videos!!!

  • LOL!

  • hey..i need advise beatiful:)..which wud you rather use?..mac matte or mac's oil control lotion before puttin studio fix foundation on..id rank my oiliness 7/10..thanks alot:D

  • if u use the studiofix fluid and powder back to back wud u recommend to use a concealer too..i mean since its both full coverage...i wonder if its necessary for a concealer too....ps i do have acne marks that looks like holes..is there anything i cud use to even out my skin's surface?

thanks in advance for ur feedback.hope to hear from ya..love ur reviews:)

  • i have the same question as MissCupcakeuhm i brought the fluid and mineraliz skin finish today the lady at the counter told me to get it not pushing it on me cause she did tell me i can get a powder from somewhere else she was nice... ishe did put it on me but it was quick n i didnt get a concealer but i think i have a glow

  • can yu make a video of how to determine what color you are in studio fix both powder and liquid?

  • one question, i have combination sckin, should i get the flud studio fix and then get the mineralize skin finish? and sorry if you kind of talked about something like this

  • I LOVE YOU lol you're like indeed very informative and also funny as well :]

  • LOL Thanks!

  • you're one of the many reasons i decided to do makeup tutorials! thank youuu!

  • Aww great!

  • You are SO concise and SO informative -- I'm so glad I found your videos! You're terrific. :)

  • Thank you!

  • I love the BLONDS! and this is a good video!

  • i use studio fix 50 with the pad thing it came with but it does not feel like anything is coming on my skin unless i scrap the powder off to put on my face and that just makes my makeup look ugly. so i dont understand this..

  • pad might need replacing. or use a powder brush

  • i use it by itself and my bff and i LOVE it. As soon as you get your right color, it's all good, flawless.

  • i love studio fix powder.. it is awesome

  • I had a MUA use studio fix powder over the fluid this weekend and to me it seemed redundant until I looked in the mirror. I had been using the powder alone for a year now and was pretty satisfied. Using both, my skin looked more polished that the powder or fluid alone..and it just seemed to have a glowing quality to it. She used fix+ also! I'm totally convinced it works!

  • PART 2 lol;) :

do Ya think i shouldnt use a dark shade like dat?? it blends great tho....im usin a lil n i make sure its not much different than the color of the rest of my body...do Ya think im crazy doin dat???

    GoD bless!

  • hey SiS i luuuve Yo vids!

do Ya think it crazy to use this powder as a bronzing powder??..i have a kinda light skin(U can see it on my profile) i aint that orange tone tho..thats why i aint usin the bronzing pwders cuz they kinda orage-brownish.plus they dont give Ya any coverage.i dont like usin liquid foundation..so i use a one shade darker mac studio fix than Yours since my face is lighter than the rest of my body n i want a middle coverage..i put just a lil amount cuz its basically to dark:)

  • what gel r u talking about i use fix + afeter my studio fix

  • great video. I have used studio fix for years.

  • studio fix sounds like it would give me the light/sheer coverage for times I want a foundation based look. might invest as an early christmas present to self

  • what mac brush do you recommend i use in wearing this for full coverage??? thanks love i love your videoss

  • i have just one question "Scandalous" with the studio fix fluid are th NC's for people with a yellow under tone and the NW's for people with a red under tone??

and is it the same for the studo fix powder.

  • i have studio fix.. it is a wonderful product.. i have a very oily nose and it helps a lot.. and this is the first video i have watched from u and all i can say is U R BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! i love this video i am going to SUBSCRIBE!

  • hey great vids! thanks a lot theyre really helpful!

I just had a question which no-one seems to answer when i ask... If, say, your one NC colour on studio fix, does that mean you should get that sort of colour range in another mac foundation , for eg like in studio tech? i am really confused. And everytime i go to MAC they tend to match me up more darker than i am...i still havent found my perfect foundation colour :( is there a way of knowing when the colour is ur prefect one? thanks again! xx

  • It's best to get matched and find what looks good on you, no matter if it's NW or NC. I"m an NC in SF Fluid, Select Tint and Moistureblend, and NW in Studio Fix.

  • what number do u use nc or nw

  • a great video. it´s very helpful.

  • i do love your videos but i find it so hard to see the detail and finish you talk about on the skin

especially with your foundation tutorials and trying to see the difference etc are you able to go and do the video somewhere in better lighting?

  • Great tips, quick question though, and I hope I don't sound like a dummy asking this, but if you use concealer do you put on your moisturizer, concealer(for racoon eyes)and then the Makeup Forever matte gel?, or concealer, moisturizer, and then the Makeup Forever matte gel?

  • will you do a studio tech guide?

  • girl you have me hooked on fix+ im on my 3rd bottle

  • What about mineralized skin finish over studio fix?

  • Using a mineralized skin finish over studio fix isn't really necessary, it's putting a powder on top of a powder so I don't know how much it'll do for you. It's not really a bad idea, I just usually do a the mineralized skin finish over liquid studio fix or other liquid foundation. If you do use the skin finish over the studio fix powder, it should still give you a nice healthy glow as it normally does, just not as noticeable as if you were using it over liquid.use the fix plus afterwards tho.

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • Good video. You should do a "troubleshooting" supplement video to this. Like address questions on what to do if you break out or if you have problems finding the right shade. I hear lots of ppl complain about that do to misunderstanding.

  • I use Studio Fix Powder over my concealer, have oily skin, and love that fresh natural look but didn't think I could get it. Now I know . . . so would I use the Fix Plus before applying blush and eye shadow?

By the way after watching your videos a couple of months ago and went out and bought the Mac Matte. I absolutely love it. It feels like velvet on my skin and no shine even after hours of wear. Thank you so much!!!

  • hi :)

    nice review

i use my 150 brush with my studio fix powder it's good u should try it once

and my question is : if u use the powder over the fluid did u feel that ur makeup is tooo heavy ??? coz i hve them both but i'm fraid to use them 2gether

and what do u think of mac kabuki brush ???

    thanks :)

    xoxo

  • Hey, I just wanted to say that I know that your vids are geard for African-American woman, which is so cool, but I subscribed b/c I feel that you're very knowledgeable and your vids are helpful to a wide range of people. Thank you!

  • I had heavy discolorations and if somebody found out I would have died! ... lol HS. By college I found MAC and after an ordeal with a NW55 (way too dark, I looked like I was in 'blackface') I've been a NW43/45 since then and I'm hooked on MAC Studio Fix Powder, because of the flexibilty of application. It can be sheer ( I use it has blush on a client that is a NC35, she loves it!) or heavier. Matte or dewy and oh so portable ( just don't drop it! )

  • Then I got Revlon foundation, better but still oily. But then it was discontinued at my store, due to lack of sales. I looked everywhere found a guy who had 2 of my color left in store and bought them. Then I got a product that was for heavy duty coverage of scars. I bought it. My mom told me to chill with the coverage. Now when i look at my HS pictures it looks like I'm wearing a mask lol.

  • Some merchant import from the the US, but it seems they choose the cheapest product thinking it will fly off the shelves. Newsflash! It won't if it's no good. At 16, I started on black Opal, color was good, but turned, but the formulation was so oily. Yes, most of us have dry skin, everywhere but on our faces! Do your reseach before you pedle us some half assed product!

  • Having had my share of try-outs. In Quebec Canada) there are few companies catering to black skin (I can count them on both my hands) about 1/2 are just awful color choice, (they still don't get that we don't all have reddish/warm tones!) or quality. and there is a type of 'segregation' in that most black pple do not put makeup. Is it because of

    1)lack of choice

    2)knowledge on application, or

3)deeply religious idea that you should be happy with what God gave you? I can't really tell.

  • Thank you so much! I bought studio fix a few weeks ago and still hadnt used it because I didnt know how to make it look the best. I love your tips !

  • i really like the effect of fix plus, soo fresh n soo cleaan cleaan ;)

  • my question is this: now that you've worn MUFE for awhile, which would you recommend to a bride for a long lasting finish that requires the least touchups?

  • I know I'm not scandalousbeauty, but I would recommend the MUFE. It's FABULOUS, looks flawless and when I've worn it I barely have to touch up it just looks great and much more natural IMO than studio fix.

  • Hey Erin!!! love stuido fix fluid and powder together...Thay's The only Way i where Makeup Never Head Not to Do It Together....Silly Rule!!!

  • heard*

  • WOW, you really opened my eyes to how I have to mix and match my foundation and powders. Right know i'm using liquid foundation with select sheer with gives me little coverage, but when I use select sheer with my studio tech I get full coverage. The light bulb just went off in my head ding ding ding.

  • Yes I use Mac's prep N prime after I moisturize with moisture lash.

  • what colour do you use in studio fix?

  • Hey Erin,

Love the video!! My question is:

I currently use NW45 fix fluid with mineralize skinfinish deep dark over it. After wearing it for awile my skin starts to get that redish tone to it. I tried the studiofix power in NW45(too dark) and NC45(Too light)how can I fix this problem without contining to waste money because the people at the mac counter can't find the right shade for me?PLEASE HELP

  • Are you using a primer? makeup will oxidize and a primer will help prevent that.

  • me, i think i have a hard to match shade too. I just bought some nc55. i guess it's a bit darker than 45. u should request a sample, and wear it outside to try it out. Don't buy it straight frm the store, cuz u could find it looks different outside in daylight.

  • i have combination skin.what foundation do you recommend for the fall?i live in south texas so the humidity is awful.
