You mention dogma, but to me eating solely for fuel seems dogmatic and somewhat neurotic. To eat solely to fuel your body is as 'passionate' and extreme as eating solely for sensory gratification.
I dont understand this desire to be so pure and detoxed. Steaming kale and sweet potato a few times a week is not detrimental to my health. In fact I imagine being on this computer, cellphone or breathing our polluted air is far more toxic than steamed grains. It seems like a waste of energy
Your comment makes the assumption that I am withholding something from myself that I enjoy. I just don't have any interest in eating something that does not create health. When I eat only delicious fresh whole foods I fell amazing, and by not viewing food as a past time I free myself up to engage in a plethora of more meaningful and worthwhile activities. I don't think you quite grasp the meaning of dogmatic. Nature is my guide and its what leads me to joy through health.
Also, I do eat for sensory gratification, but I have the foresight and patience to eat for lasting and whole-istic gratification. I not only feel wonderful WHILE eating the food ,I feel wonderful from the food in every stage of its digestion, assimilation, and use as fuel. It also bringsme joy to know that I am not using excessive resources to store, package or prepare my food. Its a win win all the way down the line.
