open your xbox remove all parts until you have only the motherboard ,remove the x clamps

turn the screws out of the heatsinks that hold the x-clamps to the motherboard and casing

turn in new screws m5 8mm long , put some pressure on them

connect your xbox to power supply without the fans after 2 a 3 minutes your xbox will overheat

2 red lights will flash (overheating) disconnect power let it cool down re-assemble everything

and game on :-)

if you want RROD, it works the fastest to put a vacuum cleaner on your xbox, thats what my mom did when she wanted to undust my xbox -__- poor me, i definitely got RROD, in the mail microsoft send me it said that the motherboard, gpu and pcu were broke, dvd cable unplugged(????) and some resistors were missing, only because of the vacuum cleaner

lol, the solder has little to do with this.... ( i said little , not nothing)When you pver heat your xbox, it trips your heat sensors, therfor resetting them. this is a temp fix, but you can do this over and over again.

My friend fixed mine in like 20 minutes. he took it apart in 5 minutes. dust it off and reapplied the thermal compound called Artic Silver in 5 minutes put it partially together and ran it hot for 5 minutes then put it entirely together and it was working and he did it to his and they're working like brand new. He followed the instructions on youtube and is now fixing everybodies for 40 bucks.

if you read the reply from above this has limited success and depends on what actualy went in the console. the main issue with the xbox is solder connections to the CPU or GPU and sometimes memory. if it is the CPU and/or GPU you have a ok chance at getting it to work with the above method, but i can assure you it will not last forever, i've been through several myself and have probably repaired 150 of these.
