use a heat prevention spray or something like that and it will protect your hair so you can curl straiten etc.

i was like you addicted to hair products as my hair would turn different with different uses

so i had quit and quit with straightening i got my hair cut to my bra strap it was really long but damaged but now it has grwn so much thicker.
