The weights are 40# apiece I think. Retail about $1.00 a pound. For a comparison back in the late 60's when I worked on machinery for a living we sold new 4020's field ready for about $1.00 a pound which was less than the 2305 sells for now!
I have no idea. I have a long history with JD, MF, IH, and AC but no Kubota - in fact I don't think I've ever heard one run so it's a question I can't answer.
Interesting you are willing to make a comment like that without knowing what the conditions were, what we were trying to accomplish, what we were going to plant and so on. By the way - you KNOW not all tillers have the same shaft speed? This one really spins fast - forcing you to move quicker with it - otherwise you have a dust bowl to plant in with the attendant crusting etc.
@jq730d Deja vu, seems like I saw that same comment by catonmtn somewhere before. Strange, strange indeed. I guess making one uninformed comment was not enough.
No I'm sorry it doesn't show in any of them. I essentially made the bottom of a battery box out of some angle iron with some angled braces and bolted it to the same brackets that hold the side of the platform on the clutch side. It sets about 12 inches below the platform and sticks out about 10 inches or so.
I like them both. That diesel idling is a great sound but I like the tune of the 318/Honda with a load on it. The 2305 is much more comfortable and handier for me to use though. Those pedals to control the transmission are great and the walk across platform is too! Knees and hips are getting stiff, so I had to make a mounting step to get on it though. When it comes to weight and power the 2305 puts the 318 in the shade even though rated the same hp. The 2305 is a miser on fuel.
I have a loader - I just don't run with it on unless it's needed. I have some very tight places to work and with the loader on the machine doesn't fit. It's SOOO nice to have a loader that mounts and dismounts as quickly as the quick coupler 3 point hitch does on the rear end.
yeah thats a nice tractor... i looked at one of them once ... turned out to be just alittle too samll for our operation though.. we actualy run a John Deeere 3203 and a Kabota 3430 they are nice each ...
we use to have big john deer but dont remeber the model though been so lond since we sold it but now we have a kubota 9000 low profile and it does perfectly fine but the john deere was my favorite. p.s ur gradson is already good!
yea, we got a 870, and a 4120, we did have a 790, but traded it for a 4120, before those, we had massey ferguson's, hosses! a massey 253, and 1145, we got the 4120 from james river equipment in rock hill S.C. and the 870 i inherited from my grampaw, cool vid, nice tractor
In the United States In the State of Ohio, You don't need a license to drive farm tractors. Nor do you need to be a certain age. Most guys around here started hauling grain to the elevator at age 13, but they were driving tractors since age 5 to 8.
Thanks - It makes me think of a neighbor that hired youngsters to pick rocks. Then they graduated to driving if they showed an interest. "You can make a pretty good hand out of a kid until they get interested in girls - then it all goes up in smoke!" :-)
looks like hes doin really well.your a good guy teaching him things like this, its times like this they will never forget. Thanks for the video and tell him to keep up the good work.

Love those front end weights, jq730d. How much weight do those add? I need to get some like that for my Kubota BX2350. Mike

That is a nice rig no doubt. But the sound of your 318 tilling is way better.

Several of the small JD tractors are hydro only now. 2305 is one of the handiest rigs I've ever used. Has a high and low range.
jq730d 2 years ago
is it a hydro or does it have a manual transmichian like a stick shift if it does how many gears does it have.
