@deathmarch5 The only reason was because I was able to use scrap, or already had stuff lying around. Actual cost to buy everything needed not including the motor would have been around $60 I imagine. (pipe, cable, PVC, extension cord, etc). This just shows that you can find junk to turn into something productive. As far as plans to make it..I may just do that. I don't like treadmill motors as they have to be screaming to put out 12volts, but the cost was so cheap I had to. Thanks for comment.
@bearhamo would you be able to gear it up to increase the likelihood of the 12 volts or would you just send it through a type of inverter? Just curious as to how you would over come this issue. Thanks for your time good fellow.
@whiterican74 Great hearing from you. I debated taking the first one down and gearing it with a pulley, but this little new one....I think I will just leave it. I saw it spool up 12v quite a few times this weekend. My next one is going to be a vertical fin generator. My bigger one only has to turn over 120 rpm to create 12v. I will use the PM motor for the next one too.
@SpudXXXX Thanks Spud. You never know what you have lying around that could be used to make power....so I'll be expecting an inventory report of your garage contents soon. =)
Thanks Bearmo aka Magiver..
