  • just because latino girls were selling them dosn't make them mexican!

  • @joeyvalencia38

The Hot Dog was first introduced to Mexico in the 1943 by a couple of American entrepreneurs who purchased a concession stand at the Plaza Mexico City bull ring. The entrepreneurs figured Hot Dogs were such a hit with baseball fans in America, they should be just as popular with bullfight fans in Mexico.

It is believed the bacon wrapped Hot Dog with all the trimmings began to appear in 1956.

  • I couldn't sell a Chicago hot dog.the only thing people round here know is ketchup.sorry chicago

  • @dieselmac LOL! Funny you mentioned that. Tonight I'm cooking up Chicago style Polish sausage sandwiches for dinner and I've decided to shoot a video. I'm putting my own twist on it, so I'm sure I'll upset some hardcore Chicago sausage fans.

  • Sometimes along with the onion, bacon, mayo, mustard and ketchup they even add beans and cheese to the mexican hotdog. Its really good! Nice video:) Where did you buy that unique grill?

  • @kimkrisrich I've had em' with beans too. The grill is made by a company called, "Craycort". Just google em' or check them out on Amazon.

  • I've had these in TJ but I thought they were only good because I was drunk, apparently they are delicious either drunk or sober!!!

  • @vdcg2010 Things aways taste (and look) a little better when ya' got a little buzz going.

  • just came across your page today . Those dogs look good . keeps up the great vids

  • @cslr11 Thanks for check'n em' out!

  • that's what i do everyday for breakfeast! so delicious with "pure de papa"

  • @IkrAIkeIN Thanks for the comment. Is "pure de papa" mashed potato?

  • @sd4547 yep

  • Looks great,thank you!

  • @madcrabber1113 Thank you for watching!

  • If that dog is "Mexican"...(and it looks yummy btw), then it was stolen. LOL. I was making that dog here in upstate NY 40 years ago as a kid. On the other hand, if you had popped that dog in a bolillo, and covered it with pico de gallo, avocado sauce, grated cheese, and a dab of sour cream...

  • @PacoMan2 Sounds good! Thanks for watching brother!

  • @PacoMan2 ...Stop lying!!! It's a Mexican dog, don't forget that!!!!

  • you should try them with diced tomatoes and onions. mayo, ketchup, mustard and salsa verde. taste delicious!!!!!!1:)

  • @gabrielc24 Sounds killer! I like em' with a little avocado too!

  • I know you already answered my question on a previous video but now I'm convinced you are a secret Mexican. You do a great job on dishes I'm suppose to know.

  • @maribelytony :) You're chack'n me up! I'm just a Mexican food addict! Thanks again for the nice comment!

  • I can just smell it!!! Have you had the corn ont he cob? with parmasean cheese & tabasco sauce??

  • @sewmama Yes! The corn ROCKS!

  • You need to add a diced tomato, thin slices of canned jalapeno pepper, and thin slices of avocado to make this an official Mexican Dog. I can't wait to have one again!! darn it why did I even search this!!! *getting the shakes for one*

  • @Spadadiforza Yeah, I made these on the spur of the moment and had to deal with what I had on hand. Still good though.

  • @sd4547

    ----------------

Not knocking you brother, I'm just elated that others are so enthused with this Mexican version of an American

    favorite.

    Good vid!!!

  • @Spadadiforza I knew you weren't knocking me bro. I love ANY food from south of the boarder!

  • And....they're addicting!!! HAHAHA awesome....I got hooked on them too!!!

  • Wow those look delicious! Thank you :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy They're pretty darn good! Thank you for watching!

  • Now thats a dog .... real nice Greg, im diggin the fry plates on the grill too ..... nice..!!

  • @bowhunter2439 Thank you. I don't get a whole lot of opportunities to bust out those flat tops. They're fun to use!

  • Greg... I don't a lot of hot dogs but that looks awesome. I love that flat top section on the grill, did that come with it or is it an insert?! I often use one of my cast iron griddles on my grill for the same purpose. I bet some fresh ingredients on top like tomatoes, avocado or cilantro OR a cilantro-mayo would be nice on there too! :) Great, now I want one and it is midnight. :)

  • @funktifiedfood Thanks for watching. Yeah, those flat tops are inserts for my Craycort grate. Fresh ingredients are really good on these. This wasn't really a planned out video. I was literally craving these things, so I just went with what I had on hand. Decided to shoot some video while I was at it.

  • @sd4547 I can understand that... I always seem to run out of fresh ingredients when I need them for one more thing and don't have time to go to the store. haha.

  • I can almost smell them from here. Yuh just gotta have em. I have some Wimmers skin on in the freezer, will grill them tomorrow if it's over 40d. Thanks for lunch tip.

  • @PlankGrillMaster Strange weather huh? It's been unseasonably cool down here too. Hope you get to grill some up!

  • Big YUM! Nice. cheers, KtC

  • @kooktocook Thank you! They hit the spot for sure.

  • I am a major hot dog fan, this is basically a version of Arizona's "Sonoran hot dog". Often they are topped with cheese, chopped tomatoes, salsa and pinto beans along with the mayo, mustard and ketchup. Where did you find Nathan's hot dogs like that, Costco? I've never seen them, the closest thing I can find are Boar's Head. I know what I'm making this week for dinner.

  • @tdjtx "Nathan's Original with Natural Sheep Skin Casing". We bought them at our local grocery store, Albertson's. I know Costco has the Nathan's, but I'm not sure if they're the skinless type. I usually put chopped tomato and diced avocado on mine. This was literally a "I gotta' have em" thing. Lucklie I had a pack of dogs in the freezer from the last time I had this craving.

  • @sd4547 Yea, we get Nathan's here but not the natural casing, I'll put in a request at HEB for them. We used to have Albertson's here but they all closed, couldn't compete with HEB. I'm not a big fan of Chicago style dogs, Sonic has them now, not a big fan of pickle relish and the sport peppers have a really tough skin. I like the Texas Hot Wieners we used to get in NY, had to come up with my own recipe since you can't get them in Texas.

  • @tdjtx Too funny! Can't get the Texas Hot Wieners in Texas. I'd like to see your recipe.

  • They look great I'm a big fan of the Nathans as well I think New York only does mustard and Chicago does everything I might be wrong iv never been lol Man I sure get excited every time I see that iron grill

  • @2024JayZ I'm sure you're right... I know that the classic Chicago dog is that crazy green relish, hot peppers and mustard, right?

  • When The Sizzle Sounds This Great, The Taste Has To Be Amazing!

  • @TangoSpiceCompany Smelled good too!

  • Nathans hot dogs are the way to go! I cant wait to try this one out. thumbs up!

  • @ItsGoodCookin Thank you! I love the natural casings on those things!

  • I live in Hollywood, well West Hollywood. We call them Danger dogs! :) They're dangerous to your health in many ways, but dangerously delicious.

  • @silvernitrate10 Yeah, I'm sure there's no permits on those little carts. I was reluctant to buy one, then I figured, what the hell!

  • Man those looked good. I will try that out for sure in the near future...

  • @TruckerWarren Bacon makes everything better.

  • Those are on my list now, they looks great, I just got my first 18.5 Weber kettle and am loving it, thanks for this!!

  • @pandmonium2k7 Congrats on the Weber. You'll be hooked in no time....

  • @pandmonium2k7 Congrats on the Weber. Wouldn't trade mine for anything!

  • Another great video man, and I agree on these dogs... Got turned onto them a few years back. Addicting!

I can also concur on Costco. That place owns me.

  • @bleedrr Addicting is right. Costco owns me too!

  • mmmm yumm that look good

  • @sugerbear520 Thanks a bunch. They were good!

  • Looks like a change of dinner plans for me tonight! I hope plain old Ballpark franks will do the trick.

  • @SmokeyGoodness Ballpark franks will do fine!

  • That looks really good, the onions cooked in the bacon fat was a nice touch. Kirkland dinner franks at Costco is my favorite hotdog.

  • @KasCooks Ahhhh, Costco. It's a good day if I can get out of there without spending more than $200.00. I love that place!

  • @papercuts777 I feel kinda' bloated right now bro! I'm gonna' have to go light on dinner. Thanks for watching Cuts!

  • Nathans are good but I like the Boars Head or Sabrett better. And I know what you mean about the "SNAP". Good video,

  • @rootboyslim I'll have to look for those brands. I love Boars Head meat, but I don't know if I've ever seen their dogs. Thanks for the info! I'm always looking for better dogs.

  • Yeah I make these all the time, But when I use Nathans, I find two strips of Bacon work better...It is awesome though

  • @TheMidnightRider11 Yeah, you're right with the two strips. I was running low on bacon and I didn't have tomato either. But, it was still good.

  • @TheMidnightRider11 Try this, Dogs, Bacon..Cheder cheese onions and Barbacue Souce...You'll love it

  • @TheMidnightRider11 Yeah, I love all of those flavors! I'll give it a shot... That's one of the combos I like to use on burgers.

  • i love these hotdogs! looks good!

  • @purplehazee117 Thanks! I got addicted to these things... Sometimes I get this uncontrollable craving for them. Today was one of those days.

  • @sd4547 Haha I have those cravings as well. Except when I do, there is one outside my home almost every night! Good stuff!

  • @purplehazee117 That could be a dangerous thing with me. I'd probably bring my own chair!
