  • Incredible. "Blessed are you, O God, who have such things in your world." Nice music choice, too.

  • I always worry whenever flocks of birds go flying overhead...dropping poo as well as little bird lice come raining down on me...When at Sauvie Island I was telling others that birds poop just before taking off, therefore don't do any high flying poopy drops...but ugg! I got hit right on my head and it rolled down into my mouth! Guess they told me how wrong I was...Darn Canadian Geese! Nasty grassy poop!

  • did you know the total weight of all ants on earth, outweighs the total weight of all humans. also did you know that the total weight of all birds on earth is 9x more than that of ants?

  • @50kT

That fact is worth its weight in ants.

  • @1penguin99 i made up the fact of birds being heavier than ants

  • lovely, but please get rid of the pointless music - I want to hear wings and air, not violins!

  • Maravilhoso,Espetecular,Incrivel...

  • Just one word - STUNNING

  • A sea of beauty. This helped to drown my sorrow that today, to embrace it, so that I may discard it...and see the beauty in it. Thank you.

  • Superb!!

  • What a rush this must be for the birds. I remember seeing scenes like this in the fall when I was a kid or a 'column' of birds, miles long when they migrate. SO glad to see they are still doing this. Makes you re-evaluate how 'special' we are as compared to the animal kingdom doesn't it. We may not have a thing on them!!

  • Woah, imagine how much bird poo! Anyways, nature is really phenomenal!

  • This was a true blessing to watch~!Thanks for sharing- at times to me,it seemed the birds were taking on other forms in unision!

  • I wondr how much birdshit fell down that day...

  • how do you know what bird its is?with out close view.

  • @12demention The behavior. Starlings or 'black birds' are the only birds that flock and roost in such large numbers. Some in the millions

  • This is not science, this is pure art balanced by a mastermind

  • 0:52 nude chick vs guys

  • Is it weird I thought it would been awesome if I could riding those waves with a surfboard?

  • @amcscfc1

  • i saw this happen once while travelling on a ferry - not quite at this intensity tho' a smaller flock... it was absolutely stunning to be witness to and really showed me just how connected we can be - we are one!!! (((o)))

  • Perfect example of how wildlife is onelife.

  • Amazing. Why do you think they only do it in winter?

  • danybaron is gay

  • Stuff like this tells you there is a God :)

  • @MultiBandgeek11 What an inappropriate and highly insulting thing to say

  • @r00tw00t Why? I see nothing inappropriate or insulting in the comment.

  • Now I need a bigger monitor screen so I can see this better! :¬) I love it. Thanks for sharing.

(Coran, 24 :41)

  • Thanks for that Dylan,

i would love to see that in the flesh!

I have seen much smaller flocks doing that, there are'nt as many starlings in Australia.

    Great video!

  • Здо..о..о..рово...

  • Lol how to do these things not run into each other?

  • I pretty sure this is how the Australian Aborigionals got the 'Dreamtime' story of the Rainbow Serpent, they would of seen the Rainbow Lorrikeets do this in Australia.

  • Sir, thank you.

  • Better than Double Rainbow

  • Absolutely magnificent - I'm so happy to have seen this through your video - thank you!

  • what a sight

  • very beautiful!

  • Bravo!! :P

  • perfect clip on the ending

  • incredible! thanks!

  • One of the most amazing things I've ever seen! Thanks, for posting this!!

  • and ur telling me all this is a result of a Random explosion ? :O

  • @arkaddius I have heard that it was as a result of an explosion - although I have also heard that it was some bloke with a beard. here is another amazing thing - the tide. Apparently it happens because all the molecules in the sea are 'talking' to all the molecules on the moon. Now that is amazing!. Maybe the beardy man theory is easier to understand.

  • @KeepTurningLeft You actually wrote 5 lines of NOTHING...

  • These birds are great... wish someone would have Left their soundtrack WITHOUT the music added...

Guess some are not able to enjoy the natural sounds and need to "ADD"...

  • @45von I think the author was simply trying to communicate motion as he understood it by adding music.

  • @45von the accoustic is a fairly constant drum of wings - some of the shots were on the end of a long lens - so the main sound was of people around me going - wow! there was a woman beside me he was on her mobile. Not even usre today, given the number of aeroplanes in the skies - what a natural acoustic is anymore

  • So Wonderful !!!

I filmed a sparing dance this autumn too, not even like this one

but it inspired me to make music for it

I send a clip of it maybe You like the music

  • @topsclip2 oeps! starling dance

  • WOW! so beautiful. Thank you very much. You are definitely blessed to have been able to see such beautiful "nature's performance". I feel like it's God's entertainment to ease the troubled mind.

  • Just hope to god they don't divebomb. o.o

  • Nature is beautiful!

    3:30 It's a giant lion!

  • very well done ... did anyone else notice Jonathan Livingston checking it out ?

  • this is so beautiful.

  • Very cool, as if nature was the orchestrator for the music

    Thanks,

  • the birds are wonderful...I just watched some do the same.

but the music. NO NO NO. toooo well known and has connotations.

  • i can so relate to those moments! I have some wonderful videos where i have gotten deer and fox to eat from my hand! Or hundreds of Elk etc. Seems animals are the most amazing! youtube com/user/peetre#p/a/u/2/y1WkuB_YZG4

  • Oh How wonderful. Timing and luck... Being in the right place at the right time. This is the type of moment I cant wait to get home and pray that everything recorded right! Bravo! Not to mention Pacobel Canon in D !

  • @peetre luck - that is true - although this was three nights. The starlings start doing this at dusk - it was over a mile from the car lugging a big camera, a big tripod and spare batteries. I then walked back in the dark each night. I am lucky that I have seen it happen

definately a highlight of life so far and I am now 57

    dylan

  • @raisingmaggie Well thank you so much for putting the time and effort into capturing this magnificant dance of nature. When I see views such as this, it truly makes me grateful to be alive. Thanks again.

  • @peetre Whatever it was, timing and luck, thanks be to God you were there! Pachelbel's Canon by itself moves me. Coupling it with your great camera and being there at the right moment, has blessed me beyond words! What a great Thanksgiving gift this is! Thank you.

  • @peetre I so agree, though earlier tonight I made a YouTube computer illiterate mistake and attributed the photography to you instead of Dylan White! Whomever put Pachelbel's Canon in D to this amazing and perfectly timed photographic piece, I thank you - it's one of my favorite classical pieces. This is a great Thanksgiving gift! Thanks to both of you.

  • Why do they go in circles and back and foward?

  • @BonjourBit welcoming people, but they don't know that humans are killers, and they will try their best to catch them and put them in cages or in closed conservations.

  • i'm on the wierd part of youtube again . fuck it copy paste stinks

  • I'm blown away!!!

  • What an amazing sight! Thanks for sharing!

  • wow. that is the most amazing thing i have ever seen

  • zerg rush

  • If you like this (..duh..) Then watch / listen:

Rupert Sheldrake about Morphic Resonance !

  • I would die to see something like this- It looks like a black ocean in the sky :D

  • Shortest 4 Minutes in my life...awesome

  • LOL my 3 yr son "WOW! That's cool!.......how do they not bump into eachother Mommy?" love share beautiful nature with my children...makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

  • Spies for Saruman!@!!!

  • 0:52-0:57 It looks like a white blood cell attacking a bacteria!

  • Beautiful

  • Don't talk, experience the harmony & enjoy. Live.

  • Why do the starlings amass In the air As well as on the grass? The attraction of grain or seed, I understand, Abundance and the need. But there is no apparent reason Why they flock Above these fields the entire season. Like a school of tiny fish they boil And pitch, dive And tack, black ink in oil. They have no leader and no Follower, But seem to know when and where to go. Perhaps it is a matter of duty, Each to the others. I prefer to think the point is beauty.
  • 3:30 they made a lion shape! :)

  • Absolutamente una danza

  • lol canon doesnt suit this

  • i cried watching this

  • Flashmob ^^

  • most amazing video ive ever seen.beautiful ♥

  • I like the part where they flew as an amalgamous mob.

  • It's supposed to look scary. Weird, and confusing. Like a herd of zebra fleeing a pride of lions. The zebras run past each other, and do not seperate completely. They may even crisscross. Full speed, very close, without colliding. This appears to a predator as a single mass of moving striped confusing. difficult to isolate a single animal. the unfortunate, but sick, or old ones who cant keep up get pick off. evolution, and thinning of herd at work.

  • @unabnats that is the accepted wisdom.... but it is probably much, much more complex than that

take a look at the other version of this film "starlings on otmoor" for some more credible explanations explanations

    Dylan

  • That's a lot of shit.

  • this is amazing... its only 10:11 am here, but this made my day already

  • Fantastic.

  • one guy is blind

  • Hi, thanks for your reply, I have been to Westhay a few times to see the starlings, its truly amazing I agree! Your video is really good quality, you must have a good camcorder?

  • Fabulous! Is this near Westhay, Somerset?

if you want some sort of explanation of the behaviour there is a film with a voice over

  • Gods creation blows my mind!

  • Absolutely gorgeous. I saw this sort of thing once before, but the flock was much smaller, maybe a hundred or so, and was totally impressed. This many birds make it magnificent, and the music is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
