well i got my industrial pierced two days ago an mine didnt bleed at all an i hope it never bleeds bt i make sure my first priority is to clean it everyday no matter what im doin if i go sumwhere i always carry my sea salt with my its veryy IMPORTANT to CLEAN it 3to 4 times a dayy an dont touch it my piercer said DONT TOUCH it no matter what dnt turn it an when cleanin use qtips if yu touch it thats a greater chance of yu gettin an infection mine is coming along fine it dosent hurt an i LOVEE IT

It hurt alot, but not nearly as much as people make it out to be. Just take some ibuprofen afterwards, and you'll be fine. For me, both holes hurt the same...none of that "second one hurt the most" business for me. LOL

Oh and I just gotta say, it DOES hurt more than a regular cartilage piercing. BOTH holes do.

I hardly felt when I got my reg cartilage done, but this HURT.

I remember I was bleeding as well, quite heavily, when I got my eyebrow pierced. It looked so scary when I just got it done because of the blood that was still behind the piercing.

I'm getting an industrial when I've got the money. I'm really looking forward to it because of the shocking reactions I'll probably get - It will be my third piercing and I'm 14. Most of the time people think that's quite weird, but I enjoy the reactions. Makes me feel a little, badass girl, haha.

Everybody's body reacts differently.

Mine has never bled, but it did get a little infected 7+ months AFTER I got it done. By a little, I mean it hurt one day, the next day pus came out, the next day it was better.

Make sure you don't bump it. It's not hard to do when drying your hair after a shower!

I had my scaffold done today and to be honest it really hurt but my pain thresh hold is low. The first hole at the top was worse than the second one at the bottom. Well worth the pain. Love mine. That one looks like it was pierced wrong i'd take it out let it heal up and start again x

OW did you hit it on something? I accidentally did that with mine (had it a month now) and it bled a bit, but not like this. Mine is very high on the ear so as not to interfere with my headphones at work (I work in radio.) Yours seems to be bent in a bit...not a good sign :( A longer bar or maybe having it redone at a higher angle like mine was will help.

Mine didn't bleed. :) I think this is because it's a DIY job... go to a reputable piercer (it's best if you can get a recommendation from someone you trust) and you should be fine.

There are a lot of blood vessels in your ear. Industrials are supposed to be completely horizontal for a reason - that's the position that interferes the least with the ear's structures and it's also the placement least likely to cut through a blood vessel. Looks like this Indy has nailed one.

DO NOT USE A PIERCING GUN FOR CARTILAGE. If a piercer comes at you with a piercing gun, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. Guns can shatter cartilage - bad news!!!

And about San Fran... I don't live in the area, but try keeping an eye out for good-looking piercings, then asking the people where they got them done. Most people who are serious about piercing will have no problem with recommending a good shop for you, even if you don't know them - just be polite and non-creepy! lol like, "I really like your industrial! I'm considering getting one but I haven't settled on a shop. Do you mind if I ask where you got yours done?"

A needle is 1000x better than a pericing gun for any peircing. Much more control, and it's not as abusive to the skin surrounding. I don't live around San Francisco, but I'm sure if you looked online you might find a decent place. :D

I don't think they did it right if they pierced it. It's supposed to be higher up so it misses a certain part of your ear. If it crosses that part, your ear folds in and strains the bar too.
