i was about ten years old, i walked into the kitchen, trying to get some money for comic books and cracker jacks, and handed my mom a "bill." Guess what song she pulled out and played for me! What a tremendous guilt trip she put me on! But, everything the song says is true, and as a parent myself now, i completely understand. Looking back at all she did to support us and keep food on the table. All the Love she put into everything she did for us. I LOVE YOU MOM! forgive me for my selfishness.
As I watched this,(and this is the 1st time I've ever seen Melba Montgomery),I see that I'm not the only one crying !!! The 1st time that I played this on my College Radio Show, I got a phone call from a man who asked me if I could play it again for his wife when she got home in a couple of hours. Of course I did. He called back and thanked me and said they both could'nt stop crying either. THANK YOU MELBA
