  • This was helpful to me. I am trying to grasp the ISO concept and was having trouble.

  • To be a great Youtuber you must be opinionated, and stand out - hence the haters.

  • wrong, Iso is the image file that u Read from a CD, Iso is not only for ps2, it is for everything, PS2, Xbox 30 , WII PS3, PSP

  • I think he was trying to make a bad joke about the old PS2 game CALLED ISO. Not talking about a DVD/CD Image.

  • oh right lol

  • He means the ISO when you take a picture idiots

  • that should have gotten an A

  • Great video David! I am going to get more into Digital Photography (So that I can edit in Photoshop)

  • terayon04 you are just jealous of David so please stop wasting your time posting hate comments

  • Grow up.

  • Your videos are gay terayon.

  • go fuck yourself, get a life, and jack off to your stupid face in the mirror and quit hating on youtube videos

  • colleges should really start teaching more digital and get away from film since it is becoming obsolete. nikon and canon quit making film cameras and digital has taken over. most new digital cameras can shoot ISO (ASA) 3200 with minimal noise. I I shot film I would try and learn medium format, thats where it is as far as image quality

  • y u use wiki as a source. ALOT of colleges may give students an F is you use wikipedia

  • a great video.

  • Thanks a bunch! I have been wondering what ISO was.

  • Nice job!

  • I must be quite lucky to have a digital SLR at 14 and a great lens, unless anyone else has a digital SLR and they are the same age?

  • That was really good! I bet that you got or will get a good grade. :)

  • What grade did you get on the project?

  • 7/10 for the humor, lost marks for the language.

  • you look wwierd now

weres yout hat it is so cool

  • coupled with shutter speed and apeture.. you can correct some of the ISO 400 problems.. sometimes.

  • nice

  • quick fact .iso is also a disk image .ima is a floppy image also

  • Some of these clips were literally recorded between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning. =P

  • Oh...

    Wow.

    =P

  • ISO stands for I SOLD OUT since 2nd April 2008.

    According to noooxml.

  • Great Job! Did you get an A+?

  • I thought that ISO meant a CD image

  • lol diffrent context

iso is a type of disk image i thinki

    but iso is for cameras

  • I think you did a good job but you seemed to read what was on the screen already alot...

  • I wasn't reading off anything. I just had a hard time memorizing it all. =P

  • oh and BTW nikons ROCK :D

    love my d40

  • A+ good job : )

  • I liked it very much, very interesting, because maybe it is a basic thing but I never knew what ISO stands for.

  • a decent video

  • What, do you have a camera watching me in my room? lmao you're such an idiot.

  • I love it. You stopped arguing with me to argue with someone else about teeth. That sums you up perfectly.

    owned. [:

  • Yeah, I'm obsessed with teeth. They make me so happy. Sometimes when little kids lose a tooth I ask them for it, I love it when that happens.

Actually, if you read the argument I had with your fellow Brit Lysix, you would see how many "faults I listed".

What a childish argument. "Um, well. We aren't bad because you didn't list enough insults. I can list more than you."

I'm a fucktard? Try again bud.

  • Even if you tried to make your teeth white it wouldn't work, too many years of no toothbrush in the bathroom kind of lost you that chance.

And btw, you have absolutely no idea how much it costs. And most Americans don't need to do that because they already BRUSH their teeth!

  • YES! now i know what ISO stands for...i never new exactly.

  • u are fucked up u fucking british snob

  • good video

  • This was fantastic, i'm new to digital photography....just bought a Canon EOS 400D and this helped alot....although it's based on film im guessing its the same aspect.

  • QFT!

  • Nice job, hand that in for an A.

  • This has to to be the most informative video out of all 172 (not including this one). I hope you are doing good in college!

  • wow i actually learned something today... makes a change

  • dont you have a rebel xt?

  • sweet:)

  • hey i have a question for you, i was wondering if apple was thinking about creating a new mouse. i was using the wired one that came with my imac to see if, and if i did, i would buy the wireless one. but since i have found that the mighty mouse has been around for quite a while now, maybe they were going to change it plz respond to this comment asap

  • very educational dave! I actually learned about ISO lol

  • lol why do we need a full presentation for something so simple?

  • Very Cool

  • Isn't ISO:

"ISO is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 130 countries, one from each country. It is a non-governmental organization established in 1947 to promote the development of standardization facilitating international trade."

They cover anything, not just camera speeds? Or am I getting the two mixed up?

oh and @KAPPAKtv and @lysix LOL

Oh and lastly, David why don't you use your twitter? Go download Twhirl.. it's great..

  • Wow! That was well put together! I felt Like I was in a real class!

  • At first I had assumed you meant a bootable iso file. Very interesting though, I never knew exactly how film camera's worked.

  • nope it's not an American word. In fact it originates from Late Middle English. Look it up :)

  • That was good.

  • It really bugs me how Americans say "pree-sen-tation", as opposed to "presentation" xD

  • We probably invented the word, it doesn't strike me as something British people would say back in the day. That is before they decided they were tired of their country and came to America.

  • You didn't invent any of the english language, you just butchered it. [:

  • Just like British people constantly butcher French words like fillet and ballet? And on the subject of butchering languages, you're trying to tell me that "chav's" don't exist? Oh boy.

  • Erm, do you remember when france invaded england? Well, funnily enough their presence had an impact on the language here.

And yes, I'll agree that Chavs (no need for quote marks) are idiots who should all be slaughtered. But, like the US, they're not going anywhere fast and theres nothing we can do about it. [:

  • Just because France invaded England doesn't mean you can take their words and mispronounce them lmao. Isn't that what you don't like Americans doing? A bit of a double standard here isn't there?

  • No? the way you were bitching gave me the impression you were simply saying we "stole" words from their language. And we hardly mutilate them. Obviously the generic british person you've got conjured up in your thick skull is almost as stupid as you.

Either way, this conversation has derailed. Bored now.

    Bye!

  • Hardly mutilate them? You say the words exactly how you're NOT supposed to say them. That sounds like butchering to me. And saying that "we probably invented the word" is far from bitching... I guess you just realized how disgusting your British teeth are, and you got a little cranky huh?

  • Ahh, the wild american calls upon his last form of attack: generalisations from popular american television!

My teeth are perfect, thanks [:

  • Hahahaha. No, my friend. I lived in Surrey for a year and I saw that unfortunate shit with my real eyes. Since when did they have British people on American television, and how the fuck would YOU know, dipshit?

  • Wow, you lived in one part of england for a year and you suddenly know it all. Fantastic.

No need to start swearing, now, is there? Remember, the internet is not, contrary to popular belief, serious business.

    Chill out [:

  • I didn't say I knew it all. I was just proving that I'm not some ignorant American who sits on their ass and watches TV all day. And thanks "Mum", but I'll swear as much as I want...

  • Okay, "Son".

  • Niiice comeback. I love how everything I say about England, you have absolutely nothing to say back to prove me wrong. I guess it's all true!

  • Either that, or i just can't be bothered to argue with a yank.

    Or maybe both?

    YOU DECIDE, "SON".

  • You keep replying, how is that not being "bothered"? You must be pretty insecure about your nationality if you can't ignore some random kid insulting it. You said you were bored a while ago, I guess not.

  • Well, MSN kindly lets me know when you continue to make an arse of yourself, so i may as well get a laugh and carry on this void of a discussion.

I don't care if a yank insults my country. I'm proud of who i am and where i live. I don't need some random loser on the internet to tell me otherwise.

    Enjoy your day, honey.

  • LOL the word presentation is older than 200 years :D

  • wow that whole argument got incredibly stupid.. how 'bout this... ur both stupid hmmm?

  • LOL That's fair enough. Ends the argument at least..

  • well spoken

  • Thanks David, very good info

  • Ditto. Very interesting. I learned something too. Cheers

  • Very interesting i just learned something, thanks Dave.

  • Never use Wikipedia for an assignment, it's not a trusted source

  • I am going to be making photography how tos when I get my MBP for graduation in May. Hopefully, it'll go as well as this one.

  • What would more sensitivity to light do to the photo?

  • Very informative. I enjoyed it. But I agree with Domreis, although wikipedia is very interesting you can't reference it in a project!

  • Doesn't ISO stand for International Standards Organization?

  • Wikipidea isn't a reliable source for research. I am Hitler's body guard according to Wikipieada

  • Nice video David, hope you get an ''A'' on your project.

  • nicw video dovdu

  • I already knew what iso was but nice information anyway =] always enjoy watching your vids dave. cya around

  • International organisation for standardidation? isnt that IOS?

  • hello!!!!!!!!!!111

  • When I saw the title, I thought it was about .iso files, a.k.a., disc images.

  • I always thought an iso was a file format for compressing files, Good video and presentation.

  • Great Video! Instant A! Great Editing too! This helped me a lot since I'm shopping for a DSLR. Can you do me a favor and record your upcoming stream? Have a huge tennis trip this weekend. Thanks Dave!!

  • what do you use to edit your vids

  • I use iMovie '06. Thanks for watching!

  • sweet vid. thanks alot!

  • David 1st off you are the shit, second of all iso relates to the actual amout of silver in the film and how far its spaced and how big each piece of silver is

  • You do this in college?

Is this like a beginner photography course?

Cause Im learning about this stuff right now and Im in grade 11.

    Seems weird.

  • I've known about ISO speeds for a while now. This is kind of intro course to B&W photography, so we have to cover the principles.

  • I see.

What kind of camera do you use.

Ive got a Minolta XG-1 and I use a standard wide angle lens.

  • zzzzZZZZZZZ

  • Awesome, Congratulations my friend!

  • What grade did you get?

  • uhm. sourcing wikipedia as an introduction wasn't such a good idea... but its informative nonetheless ..

  • It's a well known source. I understand the risk of it, but I was careful to take a good quote.

  • I understand :) but it being the first part of your video was kind of a shock *_*
