@PYates77 After you pushed the card out at an angle, use your middle finger, and push the card upward (not forward so the card shouldn't come out) and continue to pivot the card out while pushing up. If still doesn't work do the same, but try and use your middle to finger to give it a spin, so kind of speed up the motion.

im nowhere near the masterclass of you WM, but i realised that by learning how to cut cards with one hand first, not doing the trick, but just doing a normal card cut with one hand that it makes it a bit easier, rather than just jumping into the trick altogether :)

I agree, no one seems to go into detail about the actual throwy bit, the only bit I can't do! when ever I try, as described through things like this, no offence to them they are great, I just get a really bent card held by the middle finger at a right angle next to the rest of the pack, it doesn't leave my hand :(

The trick to get the bottom half over the top is to pivot it a little on your pinky and pull it back out with your middle and ring finger. But I've seen a few videos and I do believe different people have different ways of getting the bottom half on top. It's the hardest part of the trick I think

i watched alot of videos on how to do the hot shot cut and i still can't get the card to spin out! It says in the video to "push and pivot" but somehow i can't do it. can anybody help?

Make sure the card ends up at an angle less than 90 degrees, otherwise you will end up with a card just falling out of the deck or flying a couple of cm.

It isn't a horrible tut, I actually learned quite a bit from it that I didn't learn from other tuts of the same cut. I'm just having some difficulties with the middle finger pushing up and causing the card to spin out of the deck. My card isn't spinning out :P Otherwise, I've got it down. Good stuff mate.

Make sure that the angle which the card is in the deck is less than 90 degrees,otherwise it won't fly far or at all :|.

Push forward with your index finger and use your middle finger as the pivot point =).

If your cards are old and sticky it's a bit harder so practice with a new deck =P
