actually, she didnt like us watching solid gold because of the solid gold dancers, but she couldn't keep us from the music explosion of the 80s and thats what we mainly watched it for, but we had to sit through the dancers to see the musicians. like going into a magazine store to buy a sports mag and havin to walk by the adult mags to get to it. so while my mother was proud, im sure the dancers families were proud of the success of free exploitation on tv. maternity leave??? how innocent.

And I could completely kick the camera man's ass on a couple of those angles...when Deborah was doing that downward split, on I think the number 1 song, and the camera man missed the last half of it; someone should'a fired him for that!!! U kiddin' me! He was on Soul Train an awful lot in the 80's and Bandstand once in 84", but I did'nt think he was on any other shows. Another source (tvdotcom) said he was on there in early 1983 performing "I'm Freaky" but there was no record of him on the show in 1982.
